  • TOP 10 FASTEST AIRCRAFT IN THE WORLD
    ----------------------
Every air force of any nation in the world has the need for speed. You have to fly faster than anything that may enter your country’s airspace to be able to intercept possible attack of any sort. Time is of the essence and speed is a crucial element of that. Ever since the development of jet engine in the mid-20th century, aircraft engineers are on the race to build the fastest most sophisticated flying machine. Some of the greatest gravity-defying machines over the last century are as follows.
    ----------------------
    10) Sukhoi Su-27
    9) F-111 Aardvark
    8) McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle
    7) Mikoyan MiG-31
    6) XB-70 Valkyrie
    5) Bell X-2 Starbuster
    4) Mikoyan MiG-25
    3) Lockheed YF-12
    2) SR-71 Blackbird
    1) North American X-15

You retro fit your old aircraft for space when it becomes an Issue to fight in space, You still create new Fighter Space crafts but as the Air battles move into space you have to use up what you already have. Because of Resource supply issues.

Defeating heat is the key to prolong flight at high speed.
There must be a series of barriers that remove the heat as it soaks into the airframe.
Anything faster than the SR-71 does not stay at those high speeds for more than a few minutes at a time.

Your Mach conversion into km/h is not correct. F15 vs. MiG-31, you don't even have to calculate... Briefly, all you conversions are incorrect. How come?

If the new 6th generation fighter that the USA has isn't number 1 then this list is complete BS. That thing is amazing! I can't believe that thing can fly to within 5 miles of an enemy SAM site and never be seen by its radar. Supercruise at Mach 2.2, a maximum top speed of Mach 4+, a maximum range of nearly 3600 KM, the ability to link with any other platform and use its new radar system to guide missiles to their targets, plus it has an unmanned partner aircraft that can be sent in at altitude completely unseen by the enemy. That the aircraft can then be used as a missile platform or as a decoy to attract enemy targets so they can be shot down.
I can't wait until we get to see that thing doing aerobatic moves!!

Via the Harp program, which for all intense purposes probably contributed to the now functional magnetic rail gun.

The goal at the time these aircraft were developed, was outrunning air defenses. That is no longer practical, so they are no longer actively developing such fast aircraft. The hypersonic missile is the focus today.. ie a weapons systems capable of delivering itself, at speeds which there is currently no defense for.

Have wars ever brought lasting and peaceful solutions for us to live better? No, they only brought misery, pain and poverty so.... NO. The money should be spent to help the country and the people live better. But as long as politicians and crooks exist this will never be possible, only God will soon bring an end to this evil generation. And this day is very near. The Bible foretold what men would be like in the last days. In 2 Timothy 3:1-5 he predicted: But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from this turn away.

In 1952 the British LIGHTNING flew at MACH 2.27 @ 40,000 ft. Then in 1956, the AVRO CF-105 flew @ MACH 1.98. The BAC TSR-2 flew at MACH 2.15 . Considering how old these aircraft were, why didn't you list them ? Considering they were OLDE FARRTE AIRCRAFT with vintage technology, they would still be viable in a dogfight today.

@@colinbrown4719 I think you're right about those planes being British. However, I have seen multiple videos by British channels that diminish the U.S.'s achievements in aeronautics. So, it goes both ways. Britain did supply some of the early knowledge for G.E. to start building jet engines. Also, they supplied some of the best jet engines to the U.S. Namely those made by Rolls-Royce. But, Kelly Johnson did not go to Britain to get his plane design ideas. He was surrounded by his own U.S. guys, and he was a genius aircraft builder. Look up some history on him. I think you'd find it fascinating.

plus the fact the u2 and the sr71 were still vunerable no matter what speed or altitude they could fly at and cost to much to operate ... i think the sr71 was tracked by a missile and it gave the usaf a fright when they thought nothing could touch it , as it turned out they were right misiles and radar rule the skies really

The space shuttle was not built for speed but it did orbit at 17,500 miles/hour. That smashes anything else. So, there has to be an altitude limit for this contest.

was this the victory the f15 had over the mig 25 foxbat ?its funny when you coverered the mig 25 you never mentioned this dogfight against f15s that was in the foxbats favour but said the f15s shot down a foxbat ??? massive bias happening here causing false info ... The Iraqi Air Force first credited as-Sammarai with a "possible" victory which was later upgraded to "confirmed" after a Bedouin smuggler discovered wreckage of an F-15 just inside Saudi Arabia, very close to where Iraqi radars had allegedly lost track of a falling F-15 on January 30.[2] Later Iraqi government documents claim two F-15s recorded as being shot down in this engagement.[5] However, the USAF states that there is no record of an F-15 being shot down on January 30 in the area west of Baghdad.[6] Nonetheless, this is probably the closest an F-15 has ever come to being shot down in air-to-air combat. Through careful planning and coordination, two MiG-25 jets successfully caught two USAF F-15 fighters off guard and engaged them in a dogfight.
