On this day in 1984 {June 23rd} The Deele performed "Just My Luck" on the nationally syndicated television program, 'Soul Train'... "Just My Luck" peaked at #25 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart... Between 1983 and 1988 the Cincinnati, Ohio group had eight records on the Hot R&B Singles chart, two made the Top 10,"Body Talk" at #3 in 1983 and "Two Occasions" at #4 in1987... R.I.P. Don Cornelius {1936 - 2012}...
They had a lot of great tunes but people who aren't die hard fans only associate them with Two Occasions. Check out the rest of their songs like "I'll Send You Roses" or "Crazy Bout Cha".
Alanda Dalyrimple-Lala Babyface is from my hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana and he was one hell of a musician with a band here called Manchild and other groups before he really blew up off the charts with hit after hit

I agree. he cut himself upon LOUD on I Send You Roses. He was ultra competitive - feeling himself because Midnight Starr song took off by this time: Slow Jam.
