#Ganga is the holiest river of India. It has a special place in the #Hindu religion. Many people consider the water so pure that it can wash off your sins. But what is the science behind it? Is it just a myth or is the water actually special?
Actually, the water contains Bacteriophages that kill cholera bacteria but don't affect humans. Ganga has 25 times more oxygen than any other river in the world. It decomposes organic waste 15 times faster.

I am from prayagraj and on every Sunday we(small group) go to nearest ganga ghat from our home and clean that ghat for just 10-15 min only. It's been 150+ Sunday since we are doing it and now the effect of it on ghat can be easily seen.

I m from Uttarakhand and i know how bad it feels when you see shampoos packets and other waste on bank of river ganga. Ganga upto rishikesh is so clean.

If we stand together & demand for any right thing then it has to be fulfilled...... by government.
CBI in Sushant's case is an example.
Food joints serving only vegetarian food is an example.
Some food joints serving vegetarian food without even onion, garlic is another example.
Big corporates also function on this principle but there's a catch there. They create demand where there is no demand. For example, refined oil was made recommended by Indian doctors to create demand in the Indian market who were convinced by big companies that it's good for health. Now, everyone knows the truth. Infinite examples are there. They come up with something else after the truth is out.. They have been doing it for decades now..

I born in Rishikesh and this is true Ganga is clean till Rishikesh even i have test water samples from laxman jhula Ramjhula , Triveni ghat and Haridwar i found out cleanest ganga water is in Laxman jhula before entering main touristic spot after that from all the other samples it was polluted badly when it leaves haridwar you should not even think to put it in your mouth. Most of the things that is associated with Hinduism is pure science.Hinduism does not say to follow one person blindly.It says to justify it, analyze it and then follow.
But now the problem is we Indians.Our population, carelessness is destroying those believes.

Enjoyed this video man. I spent a couple of months in Rishikesh and as much as the Ganga is incredible, you can see the environmental effects. I filmed people dumping rubbish on the banks. When it rains, all the surface water washes rubbish into the river. I took regular dips to cool down (im English, I can't handle Indian heat ha) but I wouldn't go in further downstream.

Who allowed you to make videos of the people? Aren't there any poor or careless people in your country? After all industrialization and use of plastic is the gifts given to India by your culture. We Indians had never used anything harmful to the environment in the past. India has gifted the world yoga, ayurveda,Vedic maths. What's the contribution of your country. Sir I agree that there are many problems in my country but it would have been better if you had at least tried to stop those people instead of filming them?

6 years before we travelled to Prayag and kept a bottle full of Ganga water. 6 years after the water is still crystal clear edible to drink.
I once had a skin infection in one of my finger and luckily I bathed in Ganga and trust me it was cured after. Such is mother Ganga. Ganga is actually the Charanamrita of Lord Vishnu according to Srimad Bhagvatam. We are very lucky to take birth in Lap of Bharat Mata and feet of Sri Hari.

I think Varanasi you showed is old . I've visited there last may/June and it is nothing like that . My father visited there 5 times before and he said it is way better than before.

I stumbled across this video by chance. Great insight and awareness. I thought the government of India were in the process of cleaning the Rives Ganges? I told them not to do so.
They threaten me they will definitely do that.

They were confident.
