I would say this is one of the best tutorials for the pressure vessel pre-analysis step. Please keep sharing your knowledge. That really covers a lot of information required to start the analysis. Thanks
Thanks for the video, as far as I know there are few method for simulation of welds, such as nominal stress, notch stress and structural stress. Which one is the mothode what you showed? can you explain how to do structural stress in ansys? thanks a lot
Here the weld is added to provide local stiffness. You can do postprocessing based on methods you have mentioined. For Structural stress we will try to upload seperate video.
Hello Sir, I first time visit your channel. Really it's very knowledgeable sessions. We can enhance our technical knowledge with watching your videos day by day. Your teaching skill is unique as well as excellent to ease understand. Please continue making such type of videos. I have one suggestion would you please make video on ASME pressure vessel calculations if possible. Thank you so much for sharing your best experiences.
Hello sir I like your all vedios everything explained nicely Sir it will be a great help if you provide your presentation also because it contains all problem statement and all Just by reading your ppts I get all idea's Thank you sir for your efforts 🙏
Sir, for a pressure vessel with pressure (P), fluid hydrostatic load (Ps) and nozzle load (D), if we use elastic plastic method, then the load factor of 2.4 has to be multiplied to each load so that we get a combination of 2.4*P, 2.4*Ps, 2.4*D?
@@graspengineering9249 So its a summation of all loads and not load factor of individual loads? The units would not match because D is dead loads and P is pressure.
In pre-processing, You need to do meshing once CAD model is done. If you are looking for proper hex mesh and wants to stress linearization (as needed in pressure vessel), you will need proper slicing so that your components will be mapable.

Glad it was helpful!

Very useful video , nicely explained techniques ., thanks a lot .
You are most welcome
I understand that but when I use slice option in ansys 19.2 the auto close loops not activated same like in your video ?????
Yes. It is not available in older version Use latest ANSYS 2019R2.
Thanks for the video,

very informative video sir, nice work
Glad you liked it
after project I use slice option but 19.2 I can't see the option auto close loop.....?????? please tell me if any short keys?
You need to create manually surface or edges and closed the loop in new version.

if we have pressure vessel with a welded support brace and a fillet weld. how will we shell model it then?
Hello sir, what is that slice command used for?
Slice is created for doing hex mesh. Good quality hex mesh required mapplable geometry and hence such slicing is performed.
How it the weld is contacted with nozzle and pad? Is it bonded type or it is considered and one solid?
Both have two solids but in single part, means both will perfectly glued with each other (all mesh connectivity).

It should be as [load factor*(P+Ps+D)].

Sir, very nicely explained.. Please make a video for meshing of the same model in ANSYS mechalical to create hex mesh.
Thanks for appreciation ! Please kindly check other meshing videos on our channel.
Does anyone know how to model the nozzle shell junction in LSDyna
this software which version
Not sure. Might be latest ANSYS 2020R1
very exciting topic! thanks a lot.... I wish if you can do it in "spaceclaim" in future, if possible
Thanks and will do videos on Spaceclaim!
Sir
Chamfer is removing material rather than adding.
Please help me
Here we already added the material which will need to be slopped by chamfer.
@@graspengineering9249 no my question was the chamfer is creating a hole like groove
I could not understand why you model slicing for each component. I understand from you it for meshing, but how it is helping in the model? Thx

Sir please try to teach meshing for the same, that would be so great🙏
We have few other videos on our channel for Nozzle shell junction meshing & pressure vessel meshing.
Great. Thanks a bunch

Excellent 👌 . Thank you very much. Please help with video on limit load analysis of pressure vessel
Welcome. Sure will work on limit analysis videos
