Big up to jess what a superstar ✨
A LEGEND
"bombing one's gash" 😂😂😂
I had to rewind like 5 times, I was convinced that’s not what she said lol.
I'm learning some lush British slang watching this channel.
You guys made my day that little more bearable ❤
crushed it with the music in this one
Thanks Britt 🙌
My games got me through my child survival tactics of moving schools etc and stress.Still got all my games too 25 years on and bet you have too.Good to see you are cat people. This channel is great
I always enjoy working on projects in the house. I must say the new layout is looking very good, the white shelves really do make a difference.
I love the philosophy at the start of the video and your general tone in this video, it may just be about constructing shelves but also has so much emotional content, we get to find out more about our beloved Gemma. I can also totally relate to your childhood, I spent many hours wandering around game shops and staring at boxes. This is probably why I too find so much comfort in gaming.
I've got a mate who credits gaming with helping him overcome childhood leukaemia. The benefits of gaming are always glossed over. Gaming, music and films have a very positive effect on my mental health.
Interesting childhood story Gemma. I don't know why but it seems many gamers have histories of childhood problems. Maybe games were just a common therapy that many people used and we still use as adults.
I think the main thing is back in the day there wasn't much lol like the Hight of tech back in the 70's was a music centre lol then early 80;s pong and so called TV games again pong i don't know if it was 1983 when i first got to play on the C64 my god it was like a Neo Geo at 12 or 13 years of age back then lol great times still playing Spy vs Spy and Pit stop 2 lol
This is a similar story to mine. My mum was a single parent when I was growing up so I didn’t get the nice things my friends did. My friends all had PlayStations etc and I absolutely loved playing video games, but it only really happened when I went to friends houses. I had a Sega Master system but only a couple of games. My mum gave me what she could. But, I became obsessed with the things I couldn’t have. Now that I’m 37, I’ve become obsessed with collecting old games and consoles. Just being in retro game shops makes me feel warm and comfortable. It’s a happy place. Expensive. But happy.
Collecting definitely gives a sense of comfort for sure. Thanks for sharing your memory
the disaster thing I thought was a roof leak or a crow flying through your open window causing havoc with the gaming shelves.
I had a very abusive and traumatic childhood and games were always my escape from that reality. Even now in my 30’s with kids of my own they are a place I go for comfort. I often play back through those games I loved as a kid because in an odd way they feel like home.
I totally understand what you say about your childhood staring at games in blockbusters and Wollys, I used to do exactly the same thing!
And I get what you mean, retro/indie gaming (and gaming in general TBF) stops my mind going to anxiety, depression and anger!
Wow you've taken me back today, this video really speaks to me, thankyou so much! Xxx
The white units look so much better, so much cleaner and far less cluttered. It looks fresh.
I can relate to your experiences 30 years ago (for me it was about 35 years ago) I was the same, life could get really dull and boring, no bros or sisters (boohoo me😂) and computers were a little bit of light in a dark corner. I think that’s the root to the appreciation for them… they helped us, quite a lot of us judging by how many retro enthusiasts there are. 😊😊😊
I know what you mean about having a troubled childhood. We never had much money so I would only get a new game on Christmas or my birthday if we could afford it at the time. Now as an adult, I collect basically to fulfill the stuff I wish I could have had as a kid. I suppose you could say I trying to relive the childhood I wish I had. Maybe we all have a special reason for collecting stuff not just video games but other stuff like toys, baseball cards, or whatever. Trying to capture some moment in time we could feel better about our lives. If you don’t mind me asking gema, are you a psychiatrist? Just curious cause you sometimes talk in education language rather than in layman’s terms. lol
I loved the honesty about your mental health.
And everyone needs a Jessica in their lives. They're the best.
@@jonathanatkins3701 She’s a good un
always measure before buying
That weird coincidence when my clock strikes 11pm when Gemma says "it's 11pm" 😱😲😂
Fantastic reflection on those childhood memories. I always viewed games and movies as an escape, even just browsing the store shelves, which is probably why we surround ourselves with them in our game's rooms. It wasn't until I was diagnosed with ADHD that I realised I was simply trying to regulate and give my racing mind a break for a few hours. Have you ever read up on neurodivergent tendencies/behaviours?
Kudos Gem , some very raw emotional stuff you're confronting head on there and you still manange to keep it real and entertaining.. The content is brilliant as always 🤘 🕹
Thank you for watching g
Sorry to hear about your childhood problems Gemma, that sounds pretty rough. Big hugs. As for your game room, as the saying goes "gonna need a bigger boat (or house)" at this rate!
This 12-hour disaster was uploaded 12 hours ago 😮 Thank you so much for this as PSN is down, so I'm unable to game. Jessbethebest!
Big up Jess and big boo IKEA for not having the exact same size units!
You inspired me to clean my game room with this video lol
Job well done there Gem 👏always love seeing your gaming room and the white shelves really suit 👌 I was always nervous and had anxiety as a kid and gaming was my love and passion and still is…… I worked at Game in 2008 for the Christmas period it was awesome and got a massive discount on consoles and games !! I see you keep in shape Gemma and exercise is another passion of mine that helps me stay strong mentally….
I need that fast forward button for my room
The new shleves are coming along nicely, coolsville. Love the reference from The Prodigy(R.I.P. Keith Flint), you gave it your own little twist. My favorite song of theirs is Breathe. Here's my little twist to that song: 🎶BREATHE THE PRESSURE/LET'S PLAY SOME GAMES, I'LL TEST YA🎶. Great video Gems as always, much respect to you and Jess 👍🏽😎👍🏽🕹️🎮
@@RetroEli82 Haha you picked up on the Prodigy skit 😆😆
I worked at woolworths during 6th gen time and into the 360 launch and bought all my games from there with the staff discount lol. Prior to that did same as you browsing with mates. This sort of thing being lost with kids now staying at home buying digital, sad
@@PatrickIngham21 Great memory. Thanks for sharing. I miss the 90s so much
Old skool 90’s vibe music too…. bangin
aaaah I should do the same! (not on video though. hehe). I love the "just wing it" when buying stuff as well. It always turns good in the end.
This video eased all the doubt I've had about getting rid of my game collection.
Big Up the super Star ⭐️ Jess ❤❤
Minor Bro am sure it will look great once it’s all done!
@@reece3891
you two are such genuine legends, love this project and love you guys! Big up Jess ❤️❤️❤️
I tend to rearrange things with my set up at least once a year. I can never leave it as I always want to improve and organize. Goes with the hobby, the passion for gaming. Don’t physically collect games anymore but I do care about the retro side of things and good to see these videos of collectors and how they improve things over time.
Gema you are amazing, I definitely feel what you are going through. I think that’s why these videos are addictive. The comfort of collecting. ❤
This is why i love the mini consoles now not half as much work dusting and finding room! I still have bits and bobs but they are all in plastic containers sadly i just don't have the room so been thinking of getting rid of some but still attached to many, silly really im 53 and i should let go of a lot but its when they are gone you want to play them again Arrrrggghhhh lol
Great new Gaming Video "Jess" ...but you defintely deserve a ton more Subscribers!🥰
Love The Video, Love Your Attitude And Your game room is looking fabulous 🤙
Thank you very much
You talking about going to Woolworths, etc, to look at the games honesty brought up memory of mine.
As a kid, I and a few friends. Rain or shine would walk to Comet, talking an hour and a half walk to play on the kiosk. Or Woolworth, where i would buy Gamesmaster mag, turtle figs, or WWF figures 😂.
Even though between us we had Snes, megadrive and commador. It was just fun to do it because we were with our mates. Great times, what kids today just dont get. Honestly, great times
Had a big smile watching this video. Thank you for sharing
@@StevieG0v0 Dixons was my go to too
To move things around, you should use boxes. Loads of em so you can load it up and move it around like that. Also you should use elasto bands, that will help a lot. Keeps track of things more neatly and doesn't get clusterbombed all the time if you know what I mean. ;) Especially if they are alphabetized. :D
I've had a black Billy in a box for 6 months for my physical media to replace my old shelves. It's still not up lol.
Jess is the glue holding it all together.
Gemma always with the stretches... Doesnt matter if shes in your store or pulling apart a bookshelf! 😆❤ And of course Jess! Thats one hell of a shift mate!
Gotta get my stretches in haha.
Jess is a legend
I don’t like the Billy bookcases for my games, they are to deep, but it’s hard to find media shelves these days.
I agree, but what I did was just get a roll of felt adhesive strips you can get (for cutting to put on the bottom of furniture to stop it marking the floor etc) and just stick 2 lengths of that along the shelves - I find it gives enough of a lip to nicely stop game cases pushing back and gives you the depth you'd want
@@draculaman Yeah, I do something similar but with cable hider trunking, cut it to size and stick it down on the shelf.
Hello Lady Gemma and Jess!😇🤝
Reorganising the space isn't an easy task, but it is fun if the help around you is good. You said it yourself:
"She's a Superstar!"
God bless you two...🙏
I noticed the Vinyl Record Player for the first time. It looks good!👍 What's your most favourite genre of music?😇
Nice project, it'll look great when finished :)
Sounds familiar how a project becomes larger than anticipated, some unforseen obsticles comes up almost always :D
@@mrjsv4935 To be continued on Thursday 🤪
Hey Gemma and Jess, another banger.
now this was a fun watch, game room looks awesome
@@MANNYSARCADE Awww thanks mate
Epic project - but you're doing well! It'll all be worth it.
Love the beginning of this video, Gem. Also big love to Jess! ❤
Thanks hun
Also on my 30th anniversary as a collector. Sept 1, 1994, release of pal 3do. I thought I was a lot older than you so you must have been 12 to 15 at most.
Jess to the rescue! Doing that after work aswell. Looking great and looking forward to Thursdays episode!

I love how you guys call contractors builders 😊. I mean they do build things.
You know the saying, "measure twice, cut once!" Sage advice ;-P I am curious why are you switching to white? Did you not like the look of the black?
It makes the room brighter
Big sega and Nintendo love for Jess as I think Gemma really does appreciate it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Much love to Jess! ❤
Anyone remember John Menzies? 😂
Yes I do, the pretender to WH Smith
"Procrastination" is my middle name... i'm not very proud of it!
The funny part is, i have two "Billy" i must assemble for my new living room/mancave!
Bonbing ones gash is new one on me 😅😅
Did you move to a new place Gemma? I remember your game room was in the attic.
