I was born in 1995, my dad in 1960. He’s a huge fan of The Carpenters. He always played this song for me in the car when I was a little kid. We are now 63 and 27 and I live far away from him and I have my own family. I don’t get to see him often. But I play this song for my 1 year old son in the car now and he loves listening to it with me. It always reminds me of being a kid ❤ I’m so happy my dad shared this wonderful music with me.
@@hemaloid419 I wish I didn’t either!! But unfortunately we didn’t have any choice as my home state (MA) is so incredibly expensive that my husband and I simply cannot afford to live there even in a bad area. The median price of a home in my home town is 800k. And the surrounding areas range from 600-900k for a starter home. That’s more than three times what we paid moving away to a more affordable state. Having a home we own in a nice family friendly area and not a rental apartment in a lower income area was not up for debate for us. It’s really sad, but it’s the reality for a lot of families in this new world. :/
I listened as a child all the time to anything the Carpenters sang and it warmed my heart. It did more than I ever would expect. The joy and happiness. I will always play these tunes when I want to raise spirits or mood!
Every time I hear this song, I think of the dawn sky full of hope. The sky is clear and blue, showing soft and light clouds, the horizon, and the outlines of all objects with sharp clarity. The beautifully chirping birds, the cool but quiet wind, the movements of fathers getting ready to go to work and the laughter of children getting ready to go to school, the mysterious excitement of starting a new day that is a bit busy but not bad is conveyed to me. YES. This song is a song of hope itself. May all the world and all people be like this song. ❤😊❤
This was the first song I ever remember learning. I've sung all my life, and my father was a professional singer (not famous). I LOVE and respect Ms. Carpenter, for all that she brought to my world of song.
Que melodia linda quando eu ouvi pela primeira vez foi no ano de 1973 ,com apenas 13 anos ,hoje só resta saudades ,isso foi na minha cidade natal Cruzeiro SP .(Good Time)
Years ago when I was 16 and my parents were on the verge of a divorce I was playing Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker and during the scene that Peace Walker AI gains sentinence it starts singing that song. I decided to look up the song after the game and it was the song that hold me strong enough to help my parents workout their relationship and save it
That's so beautiful... I consider Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker to be my 2nd favourite game of all time, mostly because of that moment. It's so special to me
This recording is absolute, pure perfection. All praise to composer Joe Raposo, and the all the musicians: Karen Carpenter (vocals, drums) Richard Carpenter (vocals, piano, Wurlitzer electronic piano, celesta, orchestration) Joe Osborn (bass) Tom Scott (recorder) The Jimmy Joyce Children's Choir (backing vocals) Doug Strawn (triangle, tambourine) N. B. Tom Scott is known mainly for his jazz tenor sax playing! Dude can be gentle and mellow, too.

I wish kids wouldn't live far from their parents..my parents moved away from me and their one only grandchild so they left..not me.
