I made it back in once piece! I have some games lines with everyone’s favourite warrior nuns, so there may be a longer stay in the imperium…..before I help tear it down again.
Definitely looking forward to seeing these bois get some spicy rules in the future. I think they'll be extra popular once Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters, drops!
The main thing that held T’au back at LVO was the custom terrain that’s used in the big US tournaments. Unlike a lot of terrain is’s very binary on line of site as it’s basically all containers. This makes it much harder for the T’au to build Markerlight stacks while staying out of charge range than scenery with big windows and other gaps.
This makes a lot of sense. After looking into it and seeing the terrain, it would have definitely minimised their effectiveness, who would have thought that elite players would have known this and adapted 🤣 This is why I don't get invited to nice tournaments!
rally nice video! actually I agree for theincinerator, having a rangd weapon with heavy is useless or almost useless. For the comparison, I would say that you need to compare against 2 IMP GAR since they have GA2 and that is the amount of things they can do in a single activation
It's a shame for the heavy weapons as the names for them are cool and they should be deleting units! It's not to be. I played a friend that other day and he dropped the gunner completely and took another regular dude and was a bolter firestorm, much better choice. Good idea on the comparison too!
I didn't think that operatives kept alive by In Death Does Duty End could strike in close combat? As an incapacitated operative they roll no dice. That said, they can still shoot or do a mission action.
Only thing I dislike about GreyKnights is their lack of AP. They really fall down harsh against units with 3+ saves. They are certainly great against Guard tho.
@@3StoWound yeah and the weapon choices are weird. The Gunner is really situational and just outshined by the BoltGun with Bolter Discipline. And the Glaive with rerolls outshines most other weapons.
Unfortunately if your gunners are in your roster to do anything but convince your opponent you don’t know what you are doing you probably don’t know what you are doing.
Pathfinders are absolutely not OP. They can be good but there are several factions who can counter them and good players can beat them with a variety of factions. Vet guard is absolutely the top team but they are hard to pilot so when a great player runs them they are pretty much unbeatable. Well see how wyrmblade does at KTO but vet guard is the team to beat.
It does appear so! Sometimes there are teams that seem powerful in the hands of mid tier/casual gamers (Custodes spring to mind) but once you hit the top tier level of players, the holes in their strengths become more apparent! Being a GSC player I'm hoping to see the Wyrmblade do well!!
@@3StoWound yeah, this new edition is really interesting. I was in a 12 player RTT yesterday and grey knights took 2nd so good players can make smaller teams work. However I was at LVO and watching Chris and Ace play vet guard changed my perspective completely. I would have loved to have faced a good player with pathfinder over the top 2 vet guard players. Additionally if Ace took a different team he would have done well but I don't know if he would have won
@@JimmyK53 I would love to see some of these top tier players play in these tournaments, feels like a different world. The variety of teams, combos and counters is my favourite part of the new edition of the game, hopefully that keeps on rolling!
@@3StoWound check out kill team stream, Sheldon's channel. Sheldon ran the LVO kill team tournament and he built the competitive packet that kill team is currently using. He streamed some of the games live. ACE is the player who won but many if the players in his stream show top tier play.
Seriously can we stop with the "No one takes Pathfinders 'cause they're invincible?" That doesn't happen. In no game. Ever. It certainly didn't happen with Custodes. Maybe just get over them.
Sounds like the main reason for them not being played here was the dense terrain board with lots of heavy cover, which really worked against them being as viable for this tournament! Makes sense! We will see what the future holds for them!
Fucking jumpscare "fisticuffs" at 19:15 just about pooped myself
Sorry 🤣 all about making those fisticuffs intimidating!
Welcome back to the imperium 😂
Love to see you showcase your favorite teams so far

Good job
Thank you!
Grey Knights with Falchions are an awesome team to learn the game with. Really forgiving since you get to reroll everything 😂 great stuff, man!
Free re-rolls all around!!!! I get really jealous playing Grey Knights and watching this work against me!!!
Definitely looking forward to seeing these bois get some spicy rules in the future. I think they'll be extra popular once Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters, drops!
How good does that look!! I love these guys as a chapter they are a "Good" compendium team, but add a bit of that spice and watch out!!!

great breakdown, thanks!
Thanks mate! Appreciate it!

Grey Knight stuff starts at 8:00, for those of you who, like me, don't care for all the pointless waffle.
I’m here exclusively for that delicious waffle.
Lvo had a lot of heavy terrain covering the boards. That's why Tau didn't do as well. Harlies are a terror on a heavily congested board.
Yeah! It was a dense setup, I may have auto conceded if the Harlies turned up!

You are correct. They nerfed that in the first FAQ.
Indeed, it may have been very early in the morning for this one! There are a lot of rules in my head, thanks for catching this!

100% Custodes, power armour, other Grey Knights are the bane of them. There are definitely some hard counters to them.

The old tried to play mind games so hard, you wrecked your own team, a classic ploy!
