    The fact that anyone would ever doubt his credentials for the heisman is a joke. The stats speak for themselves, no way this team wins 11 games without him especially with this defense

      Dude if they came and played in the sec they would be at the bottom of the list they wouldn’t survive and as him winning the trophy that’s cool it’s whatever ,but this team would never make it in the sec or him as a quarterback!!

If you put the SEC logo beside USC, along with their beautiful location in southern cal and the talent rich state that it is,then that makes them very dangerous in recruiting and I think they would definitely compete at least in their division

    The thing that stones put most about Caleb’s play is that he almost always had to create passing opportunities with his legs. I think the other QB’s nominated for the Heisman are all outstanding but looks like they had much better offensive lines to protect them. Caleb rarely had a clean pocket to throw from and simply made things happen with his extraordinary athleticism. To put up the stats he did and to get a 4-win team to 11 or 12 wins is amazing.

    Big fan of fields , I want to see Caleb’s bad side but his improv and downfield ability makes it tough to see, he’s always looking down field and takes the easy throws too . He has some bark to his game. The way he’s holding the ball shows when he takes off , he’s cocked the whole time looking to throw.

    He is something special for sure. Just imagine if he was actually playing for a real coach instead of a multi-millionaire talent scout who can't discipline or build players well. Riley literally runs a basic offensive play book, then relies on the extraordinary athleticism of his high star players to do the rest of the work. He's a Great Value brand Nick Saban... also sucks at hiring Defensive coaches.. and staff in general. USC is just a big fish in a small pond. EVERYTHING was pointed towards William's winning Heisman. It was almost guaranteed. Almost...until the horrific loss against Utah.
    The Heisman is given to a player that Carrys his team to Undiscovered Country or = to. But on Friday against Utah, USC got their butt kicked. A horrific loss. Remember Bo Nix was injured against Utah. The Offense got shutdown. Jones went no where for 60 minutes. But Riley kept running him.
    In fact Coach Riley, that game was on you. The play calling was suspect. No reverses or flee flickers, no trick plays, nothing that kept Utah on the their heels, even for a second.
    So that loss is like a Speeding ticket-2 points on the record, not 1. In the manner of how USC lost, it should affect winning the Heisman. Consider -2 points or -2 games. But I am now worried that football analysis has taken a turn for the worse. I found out that 100% of Everyone I talked to , blamed the Defense. And I had to prove mathematically that isnt the case.

      He is the biggest piece in the turnaround of a team that went 4-8 last season. USC offense fell apart after Caleb was injured in the Pac12 Championship game which shows just how pivotal he is to the team's success.

      @@cben86 that's commendable, but tcu went 5-7 last year and was picked to finish 8th in the conference this season and max duggan led them to the college football playoff. That's more heisman-worthy imo. Stetson bennett was a walk-on junior college qb who is now about to lead uga to another national championship. more heisman-worthy imo. Caleb is a good player no doubt, but he took the easy way out leaving OU for the bright lights of LA. If he was truly a team guy, he would've stayed and helped rebuild after Lincoln left. If he made the playoff or won his conference, he'd be an understandable heisman contender. but he did neither and is somehow still the betting favorite for having 700 more passing yards than the other finalists. makes no sense.

    • @cben86
      @cben86 Рік тому +5

      @@tannerleighton3434 I jus don't think TCU or Georgia would be as impacted by the loss of their QB as USC has shown to be with Caleb being hurt in the Pac12 championship. As far as Caleb taking the easy way out, he left Oklahoma, with a record of 11-2 in 2021, to USC which finished 4-8 that year. Bottom line, Caleb wants to play for Riley. That is why he picked OU out of high school. Should he have to stay at OU if Riley moves? I don't think that's fair to ask of any college player.

    • @tannerleighton3434
      @tannerleighton3434 Рік тому +1

      @@cben86 I respect your view for sure! I'm not saying he should've been forced to stay at OU, I just think it says a lot about the character of a person when you up and leave as soon as things get tough. If he was truly this team-oriented guy that he tries to project himself as, he would've stayed and helped his OU brothers rebuild together, not jump ship as quickly as possible to a storied program in sunny LA. No one wants to say it, but look at how his clout has grown since moving to LA too. Endorsement deals up the wazoo, the LA spotlight shining on him daily...Lincoln wasn't the only reason he left OU. Just my theory. On the other hand, Duggan loved Gary Patterson and came to TCU because Patterson recruited him. When Patterson was let go and joined Texas's coaching staff, Duggan chose to stay because he was committed to his teammates. The dude didn't even win the starting job out of camp, he kept working as the backup and got his chance when qb1 got hurt. He persevered, stood with his teammates and led them to something great. That is character. That is by definition, what the Heisman is all about. When Stetson Bennett was axed initially by Kirby Smart and sent to juco to work on his game, did he give up? No, he continued to work hard and pursue excellence and look where it got him. That's what the Heisman is all about. All I'm saying is that the Heisman trust needs to change its definition because it's not about integrity, perseverance or pursuing excellence anymore. It's about who has the best numbers regardless of wins/losses or the path it took them to get there. Caleb's going to win, so congrats to him. By the Heisman definition though, there are more deserving candidates. Just my opinion.
