How a Mechanical Spring Scale Works

I designed this mechanical spring scale using SolidWorks. The scale was designed for my EML2023 class, which I took my freshman Spring semester. The parts were all designed by my team of three students. Together we built the assembly, which contains cam mates, screw mates, and gear mates. I worked with one other team member to create the animation.
All of the components were designed and built in SolidWorks, with the exception of the gears, which were built using the SolidWorks tool box.
