Man, do I miss this show. I really, REALLY wish they had done a Ryan/Esposito spin-off. That would have been a great show. Ryan, Esposito, Lanie, with Captain Beckett as a recurring character, maybe. It was a golden opportunity for ABC to continue the Castle world while keeping it fresh. Castle's 8th season was inconsistent, and an argument can be made that it had run it's course - but Ryan/Espo, the show, would have put a fresh spin on it and given them new life. They could still do it if they wanted to (it's not too late)...
I don't think they're actors playing a character... just the way they act I think they're long past the point of acting out Castle characters and they BECAME the character itself... and when the cover for Frozen Heat was revealed I heard Stana/Beckett's voice in my head "I'm naked on the cover again"
Thank you! I guess I've read so much about them not getting along I was looking at it negatively. It is good to read something positive about their real life relationship.

If you look back at the interviews and bloopers its clear they get along. those were rumors that were made up that they didnt get along. tamala jones who plays lanie said that she tweeted out they get along but the cast told her not to worry because a) it's totally false. they DO get along & b) and press it good press :)
They do...very well actually. The rest of the event, especially when they're talking about the scenes they are handcuffed, or playing Joe & Vera etc., they're leaning in toward each other. In this case, I think Stana was just kind of like 'hello, I'm here & you guys are going to demonstrate a fight scene?' lol. Also, all dressed up like that in uncomfy chairs, I'd be shifting my body weight/lean constantly. Nathan seems to fidget in his seat a lot too.
