I’ve tried this dish yesterday which was my first time ever eating an real and true African dish needless to say I DON’T want any American food any more lol it was delicious!♥️
To surprise my mom today, I made this instead. I couldn’t do the Gb because they were sold out of Yellow seeds. For the seasoning. I had to make my own Lawry’s seasoning salt because I ran out, however it still came out great & sweeeeeet. This video was simple. Thank you for teaching me 😢 this means so much to me. I’m excited to try your rice bread recipe.
Cooker vs "cooker." A cooker is the equipment you cook on. A cook is the one doing the cooking, as in the person. The plural vis a vis singular; you can have one cooker or two cookers and/or one cook and or two cooks.
@@CookingwithWinn ... thanks for the recipe! I never had cassava before, but plan to make it. Questions: 1) can we use jalapeno pepper for less heat? 2) can we use tahani, cashew or almond butter instead of peanut butter? Some people are allergic to peanuts.
1. Yes you can use jalapeno pepper if you like 2. I'm not sure about the tahini, cashew, or almond butter because I haven't cook or had it with it before but I will say, if you don't want to use peanut butter, you can make the cassava leaves without the peanut butter.
Thank you sooo much for this video my friends mom used to make the best cassava leaf ever and I moved and haven’t been able to find any cassava leaf soup here 😫😫 I’m making this asap it looks so good
Hey Winn, my household is split on vegan and meat eaters. Could you show us how to make this vegetarian/vegan style if possible? Thank you. Love the videos
My family is the same. One pot meat, one fish only and one vegan. I prefer using different types of seasoned and fried mushrooms over vegan meats and I use Mushroom broth and porcini mushroom powder for meat flavor. ❤️❤️
Hi new subscriber your instructions are easy to follow and the ingredients r simple but question do have to use hard chicken please let me know your dish looks delicious im going use this method great job 💯💖
Don’t like the raw peanut butter smell on my cassava leafs that’s why i add mine at the beginning. Ain’t nothing wrong with adding it at the beginning.
Very good directions for cooking csssava leaf. But I suggest you let the viewer know the measurements of the recipe - how much cup of water or oil? How many tablespoon of each seasoning? Otherwise, you made me hungry. Also, what do you think about adding butter beans pie the Vai people cook it?
I honestly don't cook with measurement, I just use my eyes and my taste buds. I've seen people add butter beans to their cassava leaves but I haven't had it before. If u want to, u can can add it. I heard it taste really good with it.

It looks good but you put to much salt in your food it’s not good for your heart health
@@tamondavis885 the salt wasn’t too much but you can make yours with less salt if you like.
Cooking with Winn I was Just concerned. The lawrys seasoning salt and adobe isn’t healthy either. Maggie Cubs would be better .

This looks amazing where do you buy the cassava frozen bags from ?
You can find cassava leaves in a African food market or a Hispanic food market in the frozen food section.
Or Asian Markets but you need to defrost and blend.
do you know if i can make this without red oil? i love this dish. been my favorite since i was little
yes you can
@@CookingwithWinn thank you. could you make a video of that if you can?
@@lifewithzinnah you can even use coconut oil.

How much oil do you use ?
Yea bah i coming try it 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿 Thank you!

Looks interesting an peppery...i can never understand why some African dishes contain meat chicken and fish in the same dish...
because they're bomb that way.
That's just how people like it, it's not that deep.
wow
Yoo are you speaking kpelle in the video at the beginning?
You could add the fish and other meats that take less time later. that's what my mom Does.
That way works too
You don't add the Peanutbuter in right away, I has to boil a good time before add so it can small raw.
Don’t like the raw peanut butter smell on my cassava leafs that’s why i add mine at the beginning. Ain’t nothing wrong with adding it at the beginning.
I wish I had patience to do this 😩
Hey!! What type of rice did you use?
I used the parboiled rice.
🎉
Can I leave the peanut butter out?
Yes you can
Where do you get your cassava leave
from the african store
I don't see you use onions why?
Your recipe are on point tho...
Am just curious
I did use onions. I must have forgotten to mention it.
I believe she blended it with the peppers
