In the story of the paralyzed sister it sounds like the Mom is stuck on repeat. The accident happened and caused an injury. Instead of researching how to help the daughter improve through therapy allowing everyone to continue to advance in their personal life. This happens quite often. I had a life changing injury but my husband and family encouraged me as I went through therapy. Until Mom moves on she will continue to slowly cause resentment towards the injured daughter and herself.
Story 1. That was very well done! Especially the part where OP made sure that the antics of the relatives were being reported. I think the next step should be to offer to Photoshop the photos the idiots are in, and offer a really big rate for doing it. Story 2. I feel badly for both the OP and her sister. It sounds very much like the parents are trying to process what is going on with the elder daughter, and not doing a very good job, as well as trying to protect the elder daughter from feeling bad. The rough part about this, it’s not only that they’re stopping their younger daughter from sharing any information with her older sister, it sounds like they are preventing OP’s sister from doing anything other than thinking that she’s broken. It’s depressing enough, having to adjust to a new life without the mobility that you used to have, without the added burden of being treated like a broken glass by everybody around you. I went ahead and looked up the story under AITA, and in the comments, OP mentioned that her parents never let her sister reply when OP has any news to share. She is going to attempt to get someone on one time with her sister. I hope that together they can figure out a way to communicate with each other that doesn’t involve their parents blockading every single item.
*For the last story, him having ADHD doesn't excuse his shitty behaviour towards people. People need to realize that having issues doesn't excuse their bad behaviour. And, Eve was on the right for leaving Adam and for the sister n' Dad to support her divorce with him. The Mom & Adam can just rot together, the Mom should help Adam then if she is willing to babysit him till death.*
I'm incapable of having children, my sister's, friends, and neighbors still are. Since I tried like hell to be pregnant I have a lot of knowledge to share. I go home and cry after loving others. At first I got the same I'm sorry, and not now treatment as the second person, but eventually people took me at my word about wanting to share in the joy that was available to me. I would not be apologizing, especially until the family asks for one.
As a person with ADHD it depends on the meds and there is more to it than just a feeling. Even still he can still be able to function to some degree like a normal person. Since he has some sort of brain. He can still try and pick up some slack where he is slacking the most someone else can pick it up or help him. There are things I struggle with that I am getting better at.
And even if he has a particularly bad case and can barely function, if he truly wanted to keep the marriage and have kids in the future, he would at least be searching for ways to medicate. If you truly care, even if you dislike trial and error with meds and other such methods, you'll find a way to persevere because you want to be better for your loved ones/future loved ones.
0:05: OP was wise to take videos of the guests being belligerent to him as a way of embarrassing them. Plus it seemed the cousin had no problem with this. The mom is dead wrong and needed t butt out. 1:57: Shame on OP's family for not letting her have any joys in her life, and shame on them for not doing anything to uplift the sister's spirits in an obviously difficult time. It seems like OP's family is a bunch of Debbie Downers. It's clear who's the golden child here. Maybe OP needs to apologize to her sister, but if her sister is cool with OP sharing her joys, then no apology is necessary to the rest of the family. 6:19: I can't blame Eve for wanting to divorce Adam. Adam is a train wreck of a person who needs to do some serious work on himself, and he practically drove Eve to the brink.
Just because something bad happened to one member of the family, it doesn't mean life stops for everyone else. Maybe older sister is ready to go on with her life if Mom will let her.
op with the paralyzed sister doesn't need to apologize, her family does edited to comment on the last story: yeah eve is making the best choice for herself and i'm glad op and her father are so supportive of her. the brother needs to grow tf up and step up. i hope he doesn't jump right into another relationship after this and gets himself together.
Hi Ellen. I met a new dog friend yesterday. Yes I said dog. I actually became friends with a dog I actually liked! I'm proud of myself and I'm facing my phobia. I feel really proud of myself
The last story: While I sympathize with the guy with ADHD, he probably needs to be in a group home. There's no sense in him being in a marriage, if he can't contribute.
The mom is enabling victim mentality. I am so glad that my parents did not do that to disabled me. I had accommodation to do what my siblings did, but I was not excluded because of it. They are hurting the sister who is paralyzed by having stupidly low expectations. You cannot progress if you feel sorry for yourself and expect everyone to kowtow to you. Grow the hell up!
My thoughts on the first Story>> This is Ridiculous of these people to tell the Camera Man to: Shut Up! and: Stop being a smartass....... In my Opinion thats very Offensive..... This Person handled the Situation right in my Opinion. If they dont listen....... Get them what they want.
First story: Well done! Perfect way to handle it. Mother is wrong. Second story: Time to move out. The rest of the family is wrong. Third story: Eve is right to leave. She has been doing everything and she needs to save herself. The brother is guilty in this case.
I think the mom might be a problem in that last story. Notice how the op talks about having to "pick up his slack" when they were younger so they understand how Eve feels. If the mom let the guy get away with not holding up his responsibilities back then, but rather just dumped them on the sibling, that's a problem. The sib seems a little resentful (totally understandable) and angry at their brother. The mom is also defending him when the op called him out. Seems to me like she might've coddled him into uselessness. Having adhd is one thing. Not being willing to acknowledge your own issues or problems is an entirely different thing. People with adhd manage to be supportive partners every day. We all stumble sometimes but this guy won't even admit he's running the race.
Girl, you were my childhood. I just got reminded of this a couple minutes ago and I completely got mad at myself for forgetting about you. I love you😭🤍
My boyfriend has adhd, maybe not super severe but it's bad. He will not take medication for it, and quite frankly I don't want him to either. He wants them so he can focus, but he doesn't want the side effects. And I don't want my boyfriend to just be a numb, depressed shell of himself, because that's what happens when he's on adhd medication, doesn't matter what type. It is a constant struggle and having to remind him a lot, because I can ask him not to do something and he will absolutely try his best, but his mouth moves faster sometimes and he just says or does stuff, and then catches himself immediately after and apologizes. The fact that he's aware of it and trying is more than enough for me. The husband in that story doesn't sound like he even tried though.
4:35 honestly, this person sounds so passive that it makes me believe they’ve always treated her like this, but it’s now worse because of her sisters injury. If the whole family can share things about her live but she specifically can’t, it’s probably not a new thing 7:52 it’s always the ‘adhd’ or ‘autism’ excuse, and I just notice how often it’s used to defend men rather than women
How are you doing sweetie? How are you feeling? I hope just great!! In the very first story, for all of those people who were being rude, I would've just told them to get out of the group so that the others could be photograpped. All of those rude people were just trying to make a mockery out of his professional job which is a photographer, and those people knew exactly what they were doing and they all were just wasting his time. The mom should automatically be on her son's side instead of theirs. In the second story, she is a grown woman at 26 years old, she has her own life to live, and she can just easily celebrate all of her accomplishments with other people like her close friends and her boyfriend too. When she got engaged to her boyfriend, the both of them could've just celebrated with his family if they wanted to. She shouldn't let anything or anyone stop her happiness. I can't even imagine what it's like to have an accident like that happen to you while you're in your late 20's because her life was probably already established with so many incredible things, but sadly she can no longer do them because her life is forever changed. Now I had my accident when I was just 5 years old so I've basically grown up and established a life for myself all while being in a wheelchair. It is going to be a tough road to recovery but I know that the older sister can make it through. We handicapped don't like to be treated special or given any kind of priviledges just because we're in wheelchairs. Back when I was in school whenever we use bto have tests, my teachers would always just come to me and tell mw to just answer all of the questions that I could while everyone else had to do the whole thing. Now I loved that!! Other than that, I was always studying very hard, working very hard, and it all paid off in the the end because I graduated with honors. The younger sister shouldn't apologize to her family at all because she has nothing to apologize for. In the third story, Eve should fully divorced Adam here becuse he is definitely not ready for any type of serious relationship. Eve probably felt more like a mom in this relationship to him than his actually girlfriend because she always had to keep checking on him and reminding him to take his medication. I love you my precious friend!! Have a great day!! Stay safe beautiful!!

i think its morre about the fact that she's the yyounger on so it makes her feel inferior or something

Just finished watching the new Inside Out 2 and it was so good❤
I haven't seen that one, yet. I checked out the first one, not long ago, because I was curious and it's amazing. 💖 Sad AF, though. 😢
