D 03 It isn’t as flawless as you think. Whistles are a disconnected register and when you transition from (ex. Chest to Whistle vice versa) you will always hear a vocal break because of the vocal folds. In Head Voice, Mariah also has this issue (all singers have vocal break when transitioning) that the vocal break is always evident. Lisa however, doesn’t have an evident vocal break. That’s why you only hear clean sound because vocal breaks are the sliding of the chest upward until you can utilize Head Voice (Mariah always has this issue so she always pauses before she goes into HV). That’s why you see Mariah preferring to just do descending runs from HV to chest. Lisa, Beyonce, Whitney, SoHyang are all better than Mariah in terms of transitioning

Angel Brennen hull well I just found out about her and was wondering what people thought. She's a poor man's Mariah Carey which is a huge compliment honestly but not the best ever.
This is by far the greatest R&B vocal performance I have ever seen. I make all of my vocal students sit and watch this performance and we analyze what she is doing physically and mentally to crush this song. She is in complete control of her instrument to the point that she can remain physically calm, poised and focused throughout the entire performance. She makes it look easy when in fact it is far from it. There are no twitches or unnecessary movements of the head, neck or jaw. Notice that she rarely moves further than a few inches from the microphone even when she is belting. This is because she has mastered breath control and knows exactly how much air to use in order to sing consistently throughout her entire range without yelling or pushing. She lets the microphone and PA do a lot of the heavy lifting. Her restraint is remarkable with no unnecessary runs or acrobatics. She is not afraid to leave space for the song to breathe with her. The diction is perfect. The high notes are beautiful and full of resonance (she is not squeaking) and she loses no control when running licks up there. This kind of control is the result of years and years of training and practice. It was muscle memory and she knew exactly what was going to come out of her mouth the entire time. She is magical. She is an inspiration.
She needs to perform on the bet awards or soul train awards come 2019 somebody really need to give her the light cause her performance live is better than anything I’ve seen in the last couple years

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting her years ago when she use to sing background vocals for the the one and only Legendary Mr. Luther Vandross. 🙏🏽🕊️🤍 she was so kind and down to earth. Beautiful inside and out! Her vocals/ range are Phenomenal 🔥🔥
Musicians (especially those who accompany vocalists) differentiate between singers and musicians. Her voice is an instrument, complete control, unmatched by any of the great voices in pop music whom I won't name.. She was content to be in the background after winning a Grammy for this. Imagine that.
This is one of my favorite vocal performances by any artist in my memory. Lisa is not only beautiful but is capable of mesmerizing with her God given talent. I get chills every-time I hear this song.
I love how Lisa’s talent is so phenomenal she attracts the very best to collaborate with her - Luther Vandross, Tina Turner, Mick Jagger & The Rolling Stones, she’s even got Bobby Caldwell singing background in this video - Genius!💃🏾🔥🔥🔥
This is my favorite singing performance of all time. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen this but every time I do I'm blown away as if it's the first. Emotion and total command of her instrument makes this so powerful.
Was about to say.....we musicians differentiate singers from musicians....she has an instrument, complete command, so many textures....the way she moves through registers is absolutely stunning. Brandi is rightly called the 'vocal bible.' Ms. Fischer is the vocal encyclopedia.
@joseph adel ikr? Her career basically was being a support singer for other artist, i can't take the fact when her only solo album dropped it didn't became a cult rnb classic as others

Lisa took the stage, we were nervous for her, surely she would get stage fright and start crying.
Nope she turned it out with To dream the impossible dream and the rest is history‼️
That’s our Lisa and we love her and appreciate her sharing her gift with the world ‼️💯❤️🥰🙏🏾
Wow... she talked about the bulling a little in one of the podcast, I think it's called "The Suzie Collier Podcast."
Glad she followed her dreams. Very gifted. Thank you for sharing.
@@nthabelengvictoriasekhobo2552 thanks got a story….there was a young lady that did bully her miserable as a youngster. After Lisa became..I would meet M in the neighborhood, and she was so remorseful about how she treated Lisa. I mean M was so tormented about it. M wanted a chance to apologize. I didn’t know how bad she bullied Lisa. I said M you use to….and M said yeah I made her miserable and I want to apologize.
I said you will, you will see Lisa again. We talking years ‼️ One summer Lisa did an outdoor summer jam show at metro tech in Brooklyn, NY walking distance from where it all began. I was there with M even though we came separately. After Lisa performed M went up to her and apologized and they. both cried💯
I said Lisa you remember me, lol I said Lisa you remember me C. She said no. She said I have met so many people over the years…. We were adults now, as a matter of fact, Lisa was doing her own thing at this time. I guess I could have jarred her memory and she would have remembered but….❤️
Maya Angelous famous quote “ people may forget what you said, ….what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel” 💯
That’s our Lisa and we are all middle aged now, we are still fly and I am more excited for Lisa as I was back in the early seventies. Thanks for sharing and stay blessed 🥰
Ooh I can't hit the like button enough on this song. Man or man, she smoked this uncomparably.
Lisa Fischer is definitely a rare Gem 💎 who is poised with elegance and her voice is phenomenal especially with those various octaves ❤
Throws shoe...because that voice is off the chain❤❤❤
I've always thought Lisa Fischer to be such a beautiful woman... always have loved her voice.
Earlier on even more so. See some stuff from back when she was singing backup for Luther Vandross.
This woman can chirp!!! nuff said! Who's still listening until the end of time? 😊👏
🙋🏾♀️
This girls technique is so spot on it's crazy. I don't compare her to anyone she's in a class all by herself.
Lisa’s singing is a whole lesson in vocals but the song and the singing and Lisa and btw she’s very humble, I don’t think we’ll see this again. I mean dam. This is what a Grammy award song and singer sounds like.
She has poise, grace, and class.
This audience was dead. This woman sang her heart and soul out and didn't even get an applause
Probably speechless, but the video was cut off before the applause though.
Actually it’s concert etiquette in Japan for the audience to be silent while the artist is performing.
@@taatuuswe i HATE hearing dumb girls scream YAHHHHYY WHOOOOOOO during the whole performance. Ruined my last Alicia Keys concert. Nobody pays to hear stupid fuckin females screaming, just shut your damn mouth and enjoy the hard work and artistry.
@@Agent-vj3ns so females are the only ones screaming at performances what about males oh wait that probably turn you on huh why not say you hate hearing screaming period
They were STUNNED INTO SILENCE
In 2023 This is still one of my favorite songs of all times! I had the absolute pleasure of meeting her years ago when she use to sing background vocals for the the one and only Legendary Mr. Luther Vandross. 🙏🏽🕊️🤍
she was so kind and down to earth. Beautiful inside and out! Her vocals/ range are Phenomenal 🔥🔥
HAPPY 65TH BIRTHDAY
LISA FISCHER
(DECEMBER 1, 2023)
Had the privilege of hearing her sing this at a Luther Vandross concert. It was unbelievable 🔥🔥
Musicians (especially those who accompany vocalists) differentiate between singers and musicians. Her voice is an instrument, complete control, unmatched by any of the great voices in pop music whom I won't name.. She was content to be in the background after winning a Grammy for this. Imagine that.
Phyllis Hyman was not inferior.
The rest of us should just be grateful we at least have ears to hear Lisa Fischer's range. And clarity.
2024 and I still listen to this EVERYDAY! ❤❤❤❤ so powerful! Warning ⚠️ Do not make love to this song!
Her vocal abilities are insane. As far as high notes is concerned, she's second to none 🎶💖🎶
Your favorite singer just left the building. Comparing is just not an option here. LIVE! The mic is still dropping 💯
This is one of my favorite vocal performances by any artist in my memory. Lisa is not only beautiful but is capable of mesmerizing with her God given talent. I get chills every-time I hear this song.
Hands down
2020 and so many people still don’t know about this vocal goddess.
Well I hadn't.......until now. I feel cheated for some reason. Still better late than never.
She did that her voice is phenomenal.
There are no words for how perfect this is
I love how Lisa’s talent is so phenomenal she attracts the very best to collaborate with her - Luther Vandross, Tina Turner, Mick Jagger & The Rolling Stones, she’s even got Bobby Caldwell singing background in this video - Genius!💃🏾🔥🔥🔥
This is my favorite singing performance of all time. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen this but every time I do I'm blown away as if it's the first. Emotion and total command of her instrument makes this so powerful.
Such a perfect voice. When it hit 3:12, you can just feel how it takes over and just wish you can hit that high note😍💯
I still practice each time🤦🏾♀️
@@Je_Ne_Sais_Quoi chile me too! In my next life I BETTER be able to sing like this🤣
True
Her notes are clean and strong. She should have had better career with that voice. She was money and
Gorgeous. I'm in love
I think she preferred being behind the scenes. She instead became a very in demand background singer
Jesus Christ...what a woman...what a voice...what a performance!!! Shivers down my spine! It's such a shame, so very few people even know her!
There has not been a human on earth, or deceased can match Lisa!! That voice is magical!! Whitney could sing, but not on "Lisa's" level!! Awesome!!
You’re crazy
They most definitely is crazy
You're reaching
Whitney, Mariah, Lisa, Patti, Barbra and Aretha are all on the same level. A group of a few, but a group nonetheless.
Nah, don't do Minnie Ripperton like that.
GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY!!! Her voice is an instrument!!! Just WOW!!!!
Was about to say.....we musicians differentiate singers from musicians....she has an instrument, complete command, so many textures....the way she moves through registers is absolutely stunning. Brandi is rightly called the 'vocal bible.' Ms. Fischer is the vocal encyclopedia.
how can this have just a thousand views...HOW?!
Because she never put herself on the ‘audition couch’.
Its the very definition of a "gold that is hard to find" that is why not everyone knows here.
@joseph adel ikr? Her career basically was being a support singer for other artist, i can't take the fact when her only solo album dropped it didn't became a cult rnb classic as others
Because this generation loves non talent
@@DO77IE this song is a classic at least
straight slaughtered those vocals
Flawlessly
Lisa is elegant, classy, feminine and of course a beautiful besides being an extremely talented performer. And that angelic note she hit at 3:11, oh my God!!!!
OH MY SOUL ! 🎤
I get chills everytime I watch this performance!!
Pipes, nails, makeup, outfit WHEW a baddie✨💅🏾
