"Traded in my Nikes for a new mic, I guess it's safe to say he sold his soles for a new life."
damn. thats deep
😣😣😣😣🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥺🥺🥺🥺
Wrong song idiot
Lol yeah wrong song but I still like the qoute anyway
Quote*
Did anyone realize that at the beginning, joey trades in his nikes (the nike box) and at the end he opens the nike box up and there is a microphone. Relating to his line from Daily Routine "Traded in my Nikes for a new mic, i guess its safe to say he sold his sole(soul) for his new life.". Joey is a god damn genius.
***** haha thought i was the only one who made the connection
Cameron Cordi its at 47 likes dont like it anymore
***** "Directed by Tom Gould" tho
***** that line was so good that he has too re used it. kinda sad tho

Before the money there was love
But, before the money, it was tough
Absolutely fucking love this line
Couldn't agree more. People forget that love comes at a cost as well.
Agreed. it's so true.
Ur corny
wow
before the money there was love of yourself and life, don't get it confused.
Joey Bada$$ easily has one of the most slept on albums of 2015. This is legendary.
HoneyTheHippie Idk man, it sold more than the new Lupe album in it's first week. Outselling LUPE isn't exactly being slept on if you ask me.
Nah his album was in top 10 list, it sold pretty good
I'm a definite Joey fan but in all honesty his album was disappointing and forgettable.
***** Really? I'm not judging your opinion, but i think that the album was crazy and real.
HoneyTheHippie Its good, but definitely not legendary.
in biggies last freestyle he said "I smack babies at their christening" and joey says in this song "biggie smacked me at my christening"
Always wondered what he ment by that🙏🏽

Wow....(mind blown) 👍
Had no idea till today lmfao 😂

Do we have in flight drinks if so jack n coke hold the coke..
I'm new here and I'm proud.
Joey has that 90s soul flow we need more of. I thought he was going to blow up so much more than he did, shame people don’t have the capacity to understand this kid.
Matt Bradey ...totally agree, this dude should be the leader of the new generation, but he’s too wise and speaks the truth, so the powers that be make sure his message is muted, while they promote rappers who glorify drug use and degenerate behaviour. Sad really
@@Day-ZDuke Like literally every rapper ever did, even 90s rappers. Dumbest argument ever.
@@ventiqx.1070 okay genius. 90’s rappers glorified selling drugs and making money. Not using them and being a junkie like many of today’s popular artists

he has a classic rap vibe
Definitely! I miss that vibe... Nowaday's rap is all about trap beats and uugaabuuga shit...
Does anybody can advice some good rappers nowadays? I mean, true rap like common, talib kweli, mos def, guru, dilated...I think you got it... thank you
Ritmos da Paz pro era is the only people doing it, and now they're mixing it between trap and the classic beat. A.A.B.A is going be a mix between tryn keep everyone happy
thats more of dj premiere but joey does fucking kill it like the 90's rappers
that's why I like it
Logic Hopsin Joyner Lucas are the only ones that really got any real message or real Rap for the matter
Joey Bada$$ reminds me of a time when hip hop had a message
+Louis Addeo-Weiss Well, thankfully that time is coming back. You got guys like K-Dot, Krit, Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Pusha T, No Malice, J. Cole, and Logic who are all actively trying to return rap to what it used to be in its hayday. Music with a message that means something.
+Louis Addeo-Weiss kendrick should remind you that too

good to hear I kinda stumbled upon him by accident in 2012
*Everyone underrates EM.*
are you fucking serious? If anything, hes overrated. Everyone is on Em's damn nuts these days. The way his fans overrate him is fucking ridiculous. I get it, he has one of the best 3 album runs in hip hop history but he got nothing better than that. Then u see niggas praising Recovery and thats when i lose it (no pun intended).

Pretty close I think absouls mind control album is the album of the decade

+Free Your Mind steez is dead and surpassed
Joey has surpassed steez, fans tend to put someone on a pedistal just cause their dead but fact of the matter is joey is better now however steez had more potential
King Man he may be dead but if he was alive today his shit would be legendary.
Anyone get the message in this video? "Traded in my Nikes for a new mic. I guess your could say I sold soles for my new life" - Joey. The story is focusing a bit on one of his best older lyrics. Genius.
yup Daily Routine
The way the beat comes in at the beginning is flawless
Honestly one of the best rappers of all time
Joey, Kendrick, Chance, Earl, and Cole are the leaders of this new age of hip-hop!
Easily
Yo lupe released a top 5 album this year but he's been in the music industry for a while now, so I consider him a living legend lol
1 . Kendrick
2. Cole
3. Joey
In that order! Best rappers alive! There are some followups with them such as earl and Vince staples.
MH DOOM id take tech and kris over anyone

Never!
+danket47 I tweeted Pete Rock and asked what happened with that track he and Joey Made ...and he said it was a dope smooth track ....and then Joey replied to my tweet and told Pete rock that they should get back in the Studio 👏
well yeah, he does, you just didn't hear his shitty tracks, because they won't float
I swear every song he produced is great. He's one of the GOATs
yh he got some wack stuff but his output of hot beats is unrivalled

This guy is a genius, for trying to bring back the old school, and he's actually doing it. I love it.
Too bad stupid people only give credit to mainstream, and 90% of mainstream is shit.
Fuck the system. Fuck society.
they want people to stay with linear narrow minds, meanwhile if you dig deeper intelligent people like Steez and Joey are opening minds with meaningful music.
Another Person Exactly. People are too linear and narrow minded, they can't get the meaning of some music, because they can't open their minds.

C.R.E.A.M.(1993) - Cash rules everything around me
Paper Trail$(2015) - Cash ruined everything around me.
Aaron Strahm bruh this hole time I thought it said "cash rules everything around me" till now lol
Best song on the album without doubt. Joey is up there with then likes of Kendrick, Lupe, Logic, Cole, K.R.I.T, Los, Soul. Fuck people who say hip hop is dying right now.
King Capital He's better than a lot of those people but yeah they're all good and they all are at the top right now.
King Capital Like Me is my favorite on the album, and the music video is dope for it too. Love this song also...actually I enjoy all the songs
Vince Staples will eventually make it there too!
King Capital Hip-Hop kind of is still dying though. At least the image that is portrayed of it. If you ask a random person on the street what is Hip-Hop majority of the time they will answer with people like Drake, Migos, Fetty Wap, etc., and believe its a disrespectful genre that's only about drugs, sex, money, and possessions. Big ups to the people you listed for constantly trying to revive the true essence of the genre though, but this far into the game it's going to take a long time before that image is changed.
How can you ever compare people like that, apart from possibly Kendrick and Cole (with Mick Jenkins added to that list), to Rakim, Easy E, Ice Cube, Wu Tang and all of the individual artists (apart from U-God, fuck that nigga), Mobb Deep, Nas, Pac, Biggie, Redman etc the list could go on for years. Hip hop is definitely dying, granted the original standard was never going to be exceeded, but when people like Migos, Chief Keef and OG Maco sell hundreds of thousands there is no argument against it.
Joey is a savior. he gave got bless to my music collections.
Incredible. His delivery, bars, everything is on point
joey badass is just pure genius. gives me hope for modern hip hop( not saying there aren't any other people who do, but he's the main reviver of true hip hop)
Sleeping on other artists but yeah I get what you saying.
King Capital sleeping is healthy. but they dont gotta forget to wake up ;) like most people.
munk this shit sounds corny as fuck lmao
kingderpofwg joey is dope but gtfo with that true hip hop shit. just cos you don't identify with something doesn't mean it ain't true. music is music fuck that.
@codename yeah, i should have worded that more specifically. what i basically meant is that Joey is a true trail blazer of real hip hop (which all i mean is that the hip hop that talks about problems in the world and isn't all about money, bitches, etc.) in this generation because of the amount of rappers that don't talk about real stuff, if you know what i mean. im with you on the music is music stuff though.
Hopefully I go to one of his concerts before I die
Gonna see him on Sunday!
