Kudos to you for at least being willing to listen to something outside of your comfort zone. I'm impressed you made it to the end. 😊 As for the "sad" lyrics, the fact of the matter is that they reflect the way a great number of people feel in this country, and elsewhere. Racism, elitism, oppression... these are very real struggles, even today. Rage Against the Machine wrote these songs back in the 1990s, yet, sadly, their words are just as relevant today as they were the day they were released.
It's easy to see how much you love them. A hard five minutes but you did it. Good for you. @AGDinCA is right . Thank you for your reaction. Maybe the next one will be more of your cup of tea? 😅 Do you take requests? How about HI REN?
This was cringe. No appreciation of the immense and unique talent for the instrumentals or vocals. As RATM was a pioneering influence in rap/rock, Nu Metal, and screamo. No consideration of the overt and still painfully relevant political and social commentary. No willingness to be open to something outside of your comfort zone. Truly, this song wasn't for you - it was about you.

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but people expresses their own way in their own. Over all tho I love the song
Great song! Sad its message still rings through to today as it did in 1996. Let’s do better people!
Thanks for watching!
In the 80's RATM was the most dangerous band on earth. They were very social conscious and known for their politics.
90s they came out in like 91
dude, come on man, Rages first album was in 1992, this song was off Evil Empire in 1996

Maybe this hit a little close to home and your privilege feels threatened.
