@@AmputeeZ Right back at you I'm glad to have found the video. I bought the car yesterday 2003 civic 5 speed 150k miles on it. I thought it was the alternator, the battery or the battery in the remote. It charges, the battery is at 100% and the remote has a new battery. The guys at the local Autozone took care of all that. Now to go apply the knowledge I thank you
@@decoy2636 No problem my friend. When this happened to me, I thought I could make a video to help one or two people. I never thought th e video would help so many. :-) Let me know how it goes.
Good tip although turning the key to ACC is for “Accessory”, not accelerate. The ACC allows you to run the “Accessories” in your car (such as radio, CD’s, power windows amd interior lights off of your battery power without starting the engine.
This actually worked on my Viper alarm system (I did not even know I have till the battery went dead). He says to put the key in accelerate, but he actually means the "ACC" position (as in accessories?). Actually finding the right spot for the key on my 2005 F250 proved tricky. Also - don't hold the button longer than the 5-7 seconds or it will not work. Speaking of the button - I found mine hidden well under the steering wheel. So all in all - it did take some monkeying around - BUT IT WORKED!!!!
What I am saying is while the key is in accessory press the disable button in for 2-3 sec and then let go and turn the key to start it. This will put alarm back in disable mode. Follow same steps to enable the alarm.
You would want to follow the wires coming from the battery through the car from behind the steering wheel they tend to place it over by the hood latch.
Idk why this comment literally has me laughing out loud for like atleast 4 mins now😅🤣🤣🤣 like you mad at them cuz your cars wired stuff looks different😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣

A lot of Volkswagon owners have this problem. It would be nice if VW gave instructions for how to handle this in the owners's manual, etc. like they do with the radio code. I have spent several hours looking at posts pertaining to this problem and tomorrow I am going to try this method of disabling the alarm, say some prayers and hope my car starts.
This has nothing to do with the auto manufacturer. He is talking about an aftermarket alarm system added by a third party. Factory systems do not have these buttons.
This was a real life saver I got out of dialysis unlock my computer and when I went to start it the alarm went off it's a silent alarm so not as obnoxious but the lights going on and off are a problem After about 20 minutes or so I managed to find this video
If that doesn't work for you, READ THIS: after a few days of trying, I figured out that my alarm's reset/programming button only needed to be pressed quickly and released, not the 3-5 seconds as mentioned in this video, and it finally shut off! Too bad I already pulled the alarm out, now to stuff everything back in there because the wiring was quite overwhelming.
Savistky Farm. Holding down the reset button didn't work for me. Could you explain to me any other procedure you did besides depressing and releasing the button? Thanks!
Did you find a button for the alarm he speaks of ? If so did you press it and this is the reason your car won't start ? Let me know if this is the case. In the mean time to can start your CTS by jumping the starter relay located in the fuse box under the hood . Lift off the fuse box cover and the diagram will show you where the starter relay is located.. Pull the relay out, it has 5 pins , 3 on one side 2 on the other side, use a piece of jump wire (any old wire will do) skin bback both ends . Insert the one end in the bottom on the 3 pin side and the other end in the top of the 2 pin side just for a second until the vehicle starts and than remove (DO NOT LEAVE IT INSTALLED) as it will continue to crank the starter.. NOTE: You must have the vehicle in park with emerg. brake engaged, you than turn the key to the start position and jump the relay only until the car starts, and remove it.. Be advised this will start the vehicle in any gear so make sure it's in park or it will run you or someone else over.. Good luck and be very careful. Let me know how you made out.
You don't have to do all that! Just take off one battery cable. Wait about 30 seconds then reconnect cable to battery. Car will start. Doing this reprograms the alarm.

Yes. Exactly! Lol Sorry that was my fault. Never thought this video would reach 1.8 million viewers.

Excellent help for many people. Many thanks. I run out to my 2010 Subaru Forester and.. no button, But thanks for the video. Each one is an education.

Right back at you I'm glad to have found the video.

Great video. It's not accelerate... its accessory. FYI. 🙂

Thank you!!
Thank you for the info it was helpful the car turn on.
Awesome! Glad I could help
Thank you so much for the information. Only thing is I didn’t understand where do I put the key ... in the ignition n start?
Good tip although turning the key to ACC is for “Accessory”, not accelerate. The ACC allows you to run the “Accessories” in your car (such as radio, CD’s, power windows amd interior lights off of your battery power without starting the engine.

@@Yu76967 Is it an aftermarket alarm or factory alarm?
This actually worked on my Viper alarm system (I did not even know I have till the battery went dead). He says to put the key in accelerate, but he actually means the "ACC" position (as in accessories?). Actually finding the right spot for the key on my 2005 F250 proved tricky. Also - don't hold the button longer than the 5-7 seconds or it will not work. Speaking of the button - I found mine hidden well under the steering wheel.
So all in all - it did take some monkeying around - BUT IT WORKED!!!!
Thank you so much. This was the only way I finally got the car to start. You are a life saver!

What I am saying is while the key is in accessory press the disable button in for 2-3 sec and then let go and turn the key to start it. This will put alarm back in disable mode. Follow same steps to enable the alarm.
Sir I am confused. What does key is accessory mean? Could you clarify?

You would want to follow the wires coming from the battery through the car from behind the steering wheel they tend to place it over by the hood latch.
That wasn't easy at all. Your wired stuff looks different than mine. 🤬

Is it a factory alarm or aftermarket alarm? Then I know if I can help. Lol Thanks for the message.
A lot of Volkswagon owners have this problem. It would be nice if VW gave instructions for how to handle this in the owners's manual, etc. like they do with the radio code. I have spent several hours looking at posts pertaining to this problem and tomorrow I am going to try this method of disabling the alarm, say some prayers and hope my car starts.
my daughter truck was stolen - by disabling alarm these videos should not be posted. it promotes bad deeds
muhammad sadiq
You need the key though.
This has nothing to do with the auto manufacturer. He is talking about an aftermarket alarm system added by a third party. Factory systems do not have these buttons.
Yes, you need a key or have to break the ignition switch.

This was a real life saver I got out of dialysis unlock my computer and when I went to start it the alarm went off it's a silent alarm so not as obnoxious but the lights going on and off are a problem
After about 20 minutes or so I managed to find this video
Happy New year! My dad was on dialysis. Best of luck to you! Glad I could help.
wich button you mean ? 🤔
Rayan 911 it’s usually a small push button
If that doesn't work for you, READ THIS: after a few days of trying, I figured out that my alarm's reset/programming button only needed to be pressed quickly and released, not the 3-5 seconds as mentioned in this video, and it finally shut off! Too bad I already pulled the alarm out, now to stuff everything back in there because the wiring was quite overwhelming.
Savitsky Farm Thanks for the input!!
Savistky Farm. Holding down the reset button didn't work for me. Could you explain to me any other procedure you did besides depressing and releasing the button? Thanks!
i have a 2003 cadillac cts 3.2L and the alarm shut down the car where do i restart it so my car turns back on?
Doing this reprograms the alarm.
i did wow thank you i eas 2 hour in the cold but after your video in a minute i solve the problem

I am having issues with the car alarm on a 1999 Chrysler Sebring JXI. I could not find a button near the hood release. Are there any other likely places to find it?
Bruce Webber Sorry for delay I was away. U can always trace the wires back from the battery to under steering wheel and see where there put the disable/enable button.
It is not accelerator it is accessory
lol
This is only for an add on alarm, NOT a factory alarm.
Yes exactly. Thank you
Thank you so much my alarm was going off constantly and I couldn't start my car. After watching your video I looked for the button couldn't find it then I figured out it was a switch not a button. Car still won't start but I am no longer annoyed with the car alarm.
