I like these Lessons my Girlfriend and i are starting to practice these steps tomorrow, will take it slow and who knows after some Practice, we will be flowing around the Room 123 123 123 !!!! It's really is a Fun thing to do, she is 75 and iam 76 never to late to learn Fun Things !!!
Thank you for your lessons! I have just started out learning waltz, so this has been really helpful! I just have one question. The basic natural box I have learned from my teacher, as well as those pattern charts I have seen online, states that the left foot should move forward and the right foot backward. In this video, it is the opposite way around. Are there variations depending on which country the dancer is from??
Natural Box starts with right foot forward and with left foot backward. Reverse Box starts with left foot forward and with right foot backward. In this video we have both versions. Wish you to enjoy your waltz!
Thank you! Can you please help in understanding what line the steps start and end in? It looks like the reverse box step starts with the lead facing line of dance. What is the starting and ending directons for the lead in the box steps with turns?
Can you explain the turn a bit more? It seems like it's a slight pivot on the ball of the down foot, and not tied to a specific step in the movement, is this correct?
I suggest for beginners in Reverse Box and Natural Box to turn body (accordingly to left or right) and legs will react to body turn. Technically there is no foot swivel or pivot on step 1.

Reverse Box we can start facing to Line of Dance, Backing to Wall, facing against LOD, Backing to Center. In each bar we turn 1/4 turn to left.
Tôi rất thích slow waltz..

Dear Teacher, why are some box steps for men, left foot forward and clockwise and others are right foot forward and counter clockwise?
Box step with left foot forward is Reverse Box (turns to left). Box step with right foot forward is Natural Box (turns to right).
We need both Box Steps because we need to be able turn in both directions.
@@EgilsSmagris You Sir, are a great teacher. My instructor never taught us this and now I have so much more to learn, thank you.

Right foot forward? I thought it was left foot forward? Different style maybe?
