Back when I was a kid we didn't have a log splitter and when we got logs that were nasty we would toss them in a pile till late December or in Jan to split them . When the logs freeze up they split like butter some times we still had to use a wedge but most times we could split like it was never a problem. I remember a time my Dad had a huge pile that he had a hard time splitting he said it was like rubber it would just bounce right off and hardly leave a scratch. One winter I felt like splitting and went out there and that was how we learned we could split them when they were frozen.

My dad had a heck of a splitter when I was a kid. As a matter of fact I helped him buy his first splitter and when I came home to visit I was using it. I asked why didn’t you get one of these when I lived at home. He said I didn’t need it then I had you and that wore out double bit ax

Chris, that is some good stuff. I like the fact that you’re showing the features, and functions of different splitters. It gives people the opportunity to weigh their options if they’re in the market. It also gives them ideas in case they have a similar setup of two or three splitters at once. I just spent my money on an Axis,…but I would consider the SplitForce if I were needing to split at different areas on my property.

@@InTheWoodyard I like the fact that there is a machine for everyone.
I actually love processing firewood because of all of the newer technology that’s available. I used to hate it as a kid. My dad and I would do it all. Back then, all he had was a chainsaw, double-sided axe, sledgehammer, and a splitting wedge. I’d be wore out most of the time after we were done. He would be so grateful if he had access to a 500i, a commercial splitter, dump trailers, and all of the equipment and tools that we use today.

Good video showing an interesting combination of different machines 👍 It reminds me of when I was younger, the community of farmers that I lived in used to get together for work bee's. Everybody that had a hydraulic splitter would bring them. Otherwise you brought mauls or axes. We would have 25-30 men and boys working together hammering out full cords of firewood until everyone had enough firewood for the winter.

I was looking at splitforce videos a week ago ,now u post this video. For all the tree removal wood we cut and haul home this is the perfect machine for big heavy rounds. I've got piles of logs everywhere. Alot of 2-5ft giant rounds also. Only so many hrs in a day for splitting. Brought home 4 cords of oak and pine just today . Some days theres 5 or 6 trailers full of 2 cord logs we have to haul home. It Would be nice if it had a 30ft conveyor for taller cones. I need a firewood processor and a splitforce if I won the lottery. Might have to just rent a processor for a week bc ive got like 60 cords of straight poles that would fly thru a processor. I stack up the straight ones and buck and split the ugliest logs first. Bucking and splitting every single piece i sell by hand is not efficient at all abd is back breaking work. A splitforce would also work great to do slabwood with for boilerwood. Split like 4 big slab pieces in half at once then up the conveyor into the trailer then delivered. This machine would be ideal for mobile splitting jobs where people have yard tree they want split up. I like the powersplit ones also with the double splitter setup and conveyor up the middle. super efficient and mobile

Now if split force was smart they would just give it to you because I see you using that a lot for resplits with a dump trailer backed up to it going straight in the bin and the uglies and hand cut stuff.
