    One of the most powerful backs I ever saw play, dude was a run away freight train every time he touched the ball. Greatest FB I ever saw and will ever see

      um52 Admittedly, I don't watch much NFL (stick to college ball), but when Alstott was still playing I watched when I could. The guy was a landslide going downfield; he brought everybody else with him. I don't recall who said it, but I heard an interview with a defensive back one time and they said "we hate seeing Mike get the handoff, we know it's going to hurt trying to stop him."

    My favorite Buc in the offensive.
    Derrick Brookes, Rhonda Barber and John Lynch are my favorite Defensive players.
    At meet the Buc's luncheon I was at the table with John Lynch. I also have a signed Mike Allstot Super Bowl helmet and a signed Derrick Brookes football that my wife got from Mr. Brookes at a school
    board business meeting in Lakeland, Florida. These guys were super friendly and down to earth, really nices guys.

    Super nice job of highlighting his combination of power, speed, and agility! The game was so much more fun and exciting when he was working! Such a rare combination of all the skills needed to do just what Mike did best! Thanks for the beautiful vid.

    They never show it in the high light reels but he was a great receiver as well.

    Can you see yourself being a D Back trying to tackle this guy, holding on, screaming HELP. Only solo tackle I saw was the D Back coming up from behind, sliding down his back, able to tie up his ankles ...

      Alstott stats would have been prolific but Warrick Dunn was rather magnificent and shared touches.

    Number 3 favorite running back of all time....and best full back in history. Hands, great feet, barely fumbled, never stiff armed, and one of the most powerful backs in history.
    1) Payton
    2) Barry
    3) Alstott

    He made a career out of running in the A gap. The most blitzed gap in all of football. Its a testament to his raw power and determination.

    Alstott is a HOF player. Yes he fumbled but so did franco Harris. Look at these runs and tell me straight in the face that alstott isn't one of the greatest to lace them up. Plus, a 6 time pro bowler with a super bowl ring. The 2001-2002 buccaneers were a force and alstott was part of that transformarion. Sapp said it best "Mike was ALWAYS one of us". Alstott played offense, but he had legit respect from Brooks, Barber, Lynch, Rice, and most definitely Sapp. When you make some of the greatest defensive players of all time stand up and watch you and how you run the football; that's tells you all you really need to know

  • @hotel40
    @hotel40 7 років тому +7

    how he was not made a featured back during his entire career is beyond me...everytime he was on the backfield would open up the passing game...because the opposing defensive team would load the box to try to stop him.Endless possibilities for play-action...

    • @kriskilpatrick7321
      @kriskilpatrick7321 6 років тому +3

      Well said. He could do it all too. He could catch like TE, pass block, and he could definitely run the ball as well all know. He's so well-known for his power, but his elusiveness, as displayed throughout this video, was very underrated.

      The perspective does not matter in the slightest, this is the the Rhino vs a football team, zoomed in or zoomed out it’s unreasonably incredible. Your complaint has been discarded and deemed an irrational statement.

    If you watch really carefully you can see the defense players slowing down when running towards them and even in the opposite direction they don't want to get hit by him 🤣😂🤣
