please explian the year of jubilee in leviticus
Imagine your favorite pet that you love and care for for a year. You know, it’s name, you know what it likes to eat, you know what it likes to drink, you know everything about that little lamb. Then you and each member of your family have to go out and sacrifice it, because of the things that you have done wrong last year.
Powerful and terrible at the same time.
Now understand that our sin is so great that the God of this universe had to sacrifice his own son so that you and I could have relationship with him.
Even more powerful and terrible is the way our Lord planned for us to know him.
It’s powerful because that same power that rose Jesus from the dead lives inside of you and me. It is terrible because of how great a penalty it was that our sin created. Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin.
