I'll be back up again in August for another tour (always alone). I was due to go to Switzerland in three weeks time but a new job means I am needed at a very busy time so that'll now take place next year. I only passed my test in November 2022 so really making the most of things. Be safe.

@TyresNTorque am at a place called Grangemouth...fav road is up through Callander up to Crianlarich the down through Loch lomond nice run. Only when dry lol... another favourite is up A9 cut of at Dalwhinnie then over to Laggan the down to Spean Bridge see commando monument then back into Fort William then up through glencoe to tyndrum. Fantastic roads apart from A9
I haven't seen a white or black one here in Oz yet, which is not to say they're not here, just I haven't sighted one yet. At least we get the full HP model here, unlike in the USA where it is 10HP less.

@@TyresNTorque yes Fortnine have a good segment on why they reduced the HP deliberately due to some emission rule unique to the US. Simply a CPU flash to fix it but I guess nobody is advertising that. Here I've only seen the grey one.

Easy to ride (like all other Hondas), fast, stable on the highway, nice handling, good wind protection, comfort seat. In the beginning, I was disappointed because it was naked, and there were few things to add (only top box). After one year and paid 4k, it is with extras. Central stand Honda, handguards Honda, wind deflectors Honda, windshield extension adjustable Puig, engine plate and tank protectors Hepco becker, side panniers givi trk 35lt on sw-motech side carrier pro, givi trk52 top box, phone holder ram, soft pvc bags on tank protectors from Temu, 12v socket Honda.

I completely agree, it is such a comfortable and easy bike to ride 😊 I too have fitted the taller screen and wind deflectors and it made a huge difference to comfort. Any other plans for your bike? 😊

My next plan for the bike is to install fog lights and heated grips. If I keep the bike for a long time, let's say more than 4 years, probably I will upgrade the suspension.

Yes I did but the lack of wind protection and the colour put me off, so I didn’t test ride one. In a nutshell, I choose the Transalp for its comfort, practicality, all round performance, weight and of course, the looks. To me it isn’t lacking in any area. Other bikes don’t seem to give the overall all round performance in these areas. They may have for example, more off road capability (which I don’t need) or be lighter. But as a bigger picture for me, the Transalp wins every time. I hope that helps? 😊

@@SagarKothurwar You are welcome 😊 Anytime. The suspension is enough for my needs however it does seem to be the main complaint from other riders. It is soft. Honda advertise the bike has having a preload adjustable only rear shock and a non adjustable fork. However it is worth noting that the fork is also preload adjustable too 😊 I have added 2 turns of preload to the fork and 1 click of preload to the rear shock and it is perfect for me.
No, no updates at all. The wheels, tubes and tyre set up is completely standard. I know this is a delicate topic, some people seem to be all for them, some people hate them. I don’t like how they look and I hate feeling too bulky, so I don’t want to add another layer on top of my jacket. However I don’t mind others wearing them at all to be honest, as long as they are not riding like idiots or acting like they own the road. If someone slows down because of these vests, is that a bad thing? Maybe, maybe not 🤔 Have you ridden in Scotland? 😊
Absolutely, it’s all about personal preference. Be boring if we were all the same I suppose! 😊 We just got back on Sunday from a week in Scotland. Boat over from Belfast and based ourselves in Stirling, funnily enough lol. I hope you get better weather than we did 😂

Hi Paul, thanks for your comment 😊 I tried out the GS 750, GS 850, GS 1200 (not the 1250), KTM 1190 & 1290 and the Africa Twin. I also sat on a load of other bikes. All very nice bikes and I would have any… I just didn’t feel any of them gave me what the Transalp does. The all round performance seemed to be the best on the Transalp. The handling, all round ability, comfort, rider protection, weight, looks. The Transalp isn’t necessarily the best in these areas, but in terms of all round performance it won for me 😊 What do you ride Paul?
@@TyresNTorque Hi, thanks for the reply. I havn't had a bike for many years but have been test riding and renting bikes for the last year trying to decide which to buy. So far have test ridden everything from a CB500X to the new GS1300 and in between an 1200RT, Triumph Sped Twin 900 and also rented for long weekends the CB500X and MT07. I am looking for something mostly for pleasure, no off road use but maybe a european tour in August so lots of hours in the saddle. Wind protection is high on my list. I am narrowing it down to the Transalp and NT1100, neither of which I have test ridden yet so need to get them booked in. Think I have watched most of your videos by the way and enjoyed them all especially the wind deflector tests. :)

On this trip we thankfully didn’t have any issues 😊 I think it you are polite and don’t fly between everyone, most people will be ok with it. But as you say, there are always a few exceptions 😳 Are you based in Edinburgh? 😊
AFAIK OSR isn’t the cause of allergies as it is insect pollinated (hence the flowers). The worst causes are grasses and trees, which mostly use wind to distribute pollen and therefore produce way more than required. And yes, I’m a serious sufferer.
@@TyresNTorque There is a steroid injection that will knock it back for a couple of years. You have to have it done privately as the NHS (for entirely correct reasons) will not commission it. For me personally I moved out of range of the pollen that affected me. The usual antihistamines (Claritin) nasal sprays and eye drops are the safest way of dealing with it.
I agree on the white 👊😊 The top case is super practical and meets all my needs. I have been really happy with it 😊 However I agree some other top boxes do look better. Do you have any suggestions for another?
@@TyresNTorque technically yes but I've only gone as far as carter bar and just north of kielder forest so not that far tbh. Sick of it raining every time I go up that way lol.
I went up to Kielder for the first time on the bike 2 weeks ago. There are some fantastic roads that way 😊 We were very lucky on this trip with the weather. Rare Scottish sunshine - certainly can’t complain 😂👌

The handling, all round ability, comfort, rider protection, weight, looks. The Transalp isn’t necessarily the best in these areas, but in terms of all round performance it won for me 😊

@@TyresNTorque Hi, thanks for the reply. I havn't had a bike for many years but have been test riding and renting bikes for the last year trying to decide which to buy.
So far have test ridden everything from a CB500X to the new GS1300 and in between an 1200RT, Triumph Sped Twin 900 and also rented for long weekends the CB500X and MT07.
I am looking for something mostly for pleasure, no off road use but maybe a european tour in August so lots of hours in the saddle. Wind protection is high on my list. I am narrowing it down to the Transalp and NT1100, neither of which I have test ridden yet so need to get them booked in.
Think I have watched most of your videos by the way and enjoyed them all especially the wind deflector tests. :)

Never been to Scotland, but it's on my bucket list. Currently riding an NX500 but test riding the Transalp next week. Pretty sure it'll be my next bike. In stylish gray 😂

Lane splitting is supported by 99% of drivers around Edinburgh, but there are still a few dorks.
On this trip we thankfully didn’t have any issues 😊 I think it you are polite and don’t fly between everyone, most people will be ok with it. But as you say, there are always a few exceptions 😳

AFAIK OSR isn’t the cause of allergies as it is insect pollinated (hence the flowers). The worst causes are grasses and trees, which mostly use wind to distribute pollen and therefore produce way more than required. And yes, I’m a serious sufferer.

@@TyresNTorque There is a steroid injection that will knock it back for a couple of years. You have to have it done privately as the NHS (for entirely correct reasons) will not commission it. For me personally I moved out of range of the pollen that affected me.
The usual antihistamines (Claritin) nasal sprays and eye drops are the safest way of dealing with it.

@@TyresNTorque technically yes but I've only gone as far as carter bar and just north of kielder forest so not that far tbh. Sick of it raining every time I go up that way lol.
I went up to Kielder for the first time on the bike 2 weeks ago. There are some fantastic roads that way 😊
We were very lucky on this trip with the weather. Rare Scottish sunshine - certainly can’t complain 😂👌
