I thought it was a train until i realized there aren't any trains near me 💀
Exactly
LMFAO
Me too
I thought earthquake or ghost lol. I was sitting on my bed while it happenede
Yeah same here,
Yup. My whole house in NJ shook. My dogs went crazy.
why anyone would pay $100k in property taxes to live in a third world sh*thole like NJ never ceases to amaze me
House shook and a loud rumble. Cats hid and horses were scared.
What part of NJ ?
@@Invest4YO Tewksbury.
My cats went crazy even before it started. We're in Allentown, PA.
Yep! My whole house shook here in Queens, Maspeth for about 6 seconds- it was pretty intense as my kitchen cabinets opened itself. The whole house shook. I felt it pretty intensely.
Mines was fir about a minute.. Thought it was a huge truck or something at furst
Does the house show any crack ? Is everything okay?
I first legit thought it was a heavy loaded truck passing by but then it became obvious what it was
That's what I also thought
Omg same here in CT
Yeah, I live down here in Camden county on the third story of a building. We often get trucks going by that shake the building. But after a few seconds I began to realize that this was something else. It lasted like 20 seconds or more, and all my furniture began shaking as did my windows pretty badly. Plus my dumb cats started running around in circles...lol! One was on my living room recliner and it began shaking and she bugged out. Definitely a bit odd.
Damn I thought the same thing. Glad am not the only one lol I looked outside no truck but I felt the shaking.
That's what I thought; a truck parked outside my apartment.
I’m in Ct. I thought my home was sinking🤦🏽♀️
I felt it in Boston!
I did too! I ran down to the basement expecting to find some nightmarish situation. Edit - I'm in Allentown, PA
Yeah felt like 4 even here
I was sitting in a parking lot that was mostly empty (Stratford CT) and I thought a big invisible truck went by!!
oh my gosh my wife thought i was crazy casue the first thing i did was check my foundation in case we were in a sink hole, thank you for making me not feel crazy!
Of course, as a life-long California, my first reaction was to giggle a bit (4.7 or 4.8 - what a cute little quake), but I'm also very empathetic to how much this must have unnerved people back East as quakes are so rare there. Hope all is well and no one was hurt.
You guys live in the ass crack of hell, of course earthquakes are common.
It’s a 4.8 lol. Total overreaction
Cheers
My house in Brooklyn was shaking so bad I took my dog and ran out to the street. I've never felt an earthquake before. It was pretty violent.
I hope you will not have dizziness for days. I experienced that last year here in Morocco.
We had a 6.9 in Seattle back in the early 2000s lol we just had a 4.0 and I slept thru it
Hopefully everyone is safe.
LOL 4.8 earthquakes are weekly occurrences here in Calif.
We don't even pay attention to those any longer and they barely make the news.
It was a seriously powerful earthquake - I never felt in New York before.. Why isn't more discussion being had ? I hate these gross crises going on
It was big time in New York
I'm from Staten Island and I felt it.
I was in a classroom with my students on the 4th floor in a very large high school. I’ve experienced an earthquake before so I knew exactly what it was but when I saw the fear in their eyes I told them it’s probably the wind because the building is old. We were all shaken. The AP announced they are investigating what that was. About five minutes later (and a million texts confirming with friends and family we all felt that) he announced there was an earthquake. We are in Brooklyn. I told the kids if they felt shaking again to stay underneath the desks. They were shocked as was I. Earthquakes are not common here. Honestly feels like the end of times with all the catastrophes happening around the world. God bless everyone.
First time feeling an earthquake, what the hell
I live California and earthquakes can be scarry especially if your not used to them! Stay safe and my heart and prayers go out to all!❤❤
I'm in Brooklyn I felt my building shaking I was like wtf

I bet you thought it will never happen in NY.
And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. Luke 21:11
I felt it around 10:20 this morning. We are in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. House shook for about 3 sec and my dog looked at me like

Welp. I know Jersey City residents felt that.
And heard it too. Very deep rumbling. Took me a while to realize what was happening, but my room was shaking, my bed was shaking, and it sounded like a humongous truck was rumbling by. In West Orange, NJ.
eyyyy neighbor! ... Verona NJ here ... woke up to it too then remembered it wasn't Taco Tuesday yesterday!
Same rumbling sounds and shaking. Lancaster County PA
I live in Bergen County and I literally woke up right before it happened to check up on my Tamagotchi 😂😂 I thought it was the wind at first ngl! Amazed to know it was an earthquake, I have never felt one and was so interested in what it would feel like. Crazy!
What Tamagotchi ya got?
They still sell those?! I had one in middle school in 08-09
@@ladybug3380 Yes! They make new releases I think every couple of years now. I currently have the Tamagotchi Pix Party and I plan to get the Tamagotchi Uni next :)
@Jayden-zn4un when did I say they weren’t dangerous?
I felt it in my apartment on 5 floor in Brooklyn , Bay Ridge. The inside of the walls started crumbling( it’s an old building). The bed was shaking ( I was still sleeping since I went to bed very late last night). The cat was running all over the bed and my first thought was that he was causing all this 😂.
I'm on top floor in Brooklyn and my bed was shaking a lot for 10 seconds.
hopefully everyone is ok .I have family in New Brunswick NJ
I was in East brunswick sitting in my car and it felt like someone was rocking my car back and forth it was crazy.

Oh my god! First earthquake of my life!
Eclipse, earthquake, war, and plague in the Northeast. Did anyone see Four-horsemen?
I haven’t heard about the war or plague in the north east
Try reading the Bible! 2nd Thessolians, Revelation. It is happening NOW. PLEASE pay attention!
What do you think Covid was?
@@bobbyledger2249 the end omg
And rumors of war too.

My entire house shook. I've lived in California and have gone through the Sylmar and Northridge quakes and understood immediately what was happening. Terrifying!😢😮
I’m in the Bronx it woke me up I was knocked out
I live in Pa and I felt it. At first I thought it was a huge semi traveling past my house.
The end is near
I mean considering how the world is ... I wouldn't mind the reset button xD

April 4 2010 here in the Mexicali Baja Mexico/Imperial Valley California area we had a 7.2 earthquake. Now that's a earthquake.
I felt the earthquake in my house this morning! I was just sleeping in my bedroom, when all of a sudden, I began to feel my bedroom starting to vibrate as I heard the sound of the toys in my bedroom beginning to rattle. The earthquake only lasted for about a few seconds.
Do we have somebody who is responsible of notifying people of an earthquake coming?
No.
You can’t tell at all only know when it actually happens
Those who assigned to notify people, busy taking care of illegals
@@elenaleonova7155literally what do illegals have to do with an earthquake dude
They will notify after it happened.
Someone from your team reported that there were no displaced people. That is incorrect. Apparently there were 3 houses in Newark that displaced up to 25 people. Please get your facts right. These people need help now. Thank You
We absolutely felt it here in South Whitehall, PA. That was crazy!
I live in a highrise in NY, and I thought my building was hit by something until the shaking stopped.
I'm 57 miles from clinton, NJ and we felt it over here hard
I felt my chair swaying! I live in south Hadley MA!

I'm from New York. I was at home. I feel the shake of the earthquake and I'm scared. How did the earthquake get in our tri-state?
HAARP
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
@@user-ze1kh5tl3k🙄 blah, blah, blah, religious nonsense
This region has a history of earthquakes, several in the 1980s. Upstate in 1983, 5.1 magnitude. 1985, 4.0 magnitude affected NYC and area. We’ve had smaller ones. Last year Astoria Queens, knocked out power locally 1.7 magnitude. This time was NJ sending you guys kisses from across the Hudson 😝
@@Blondie77128 A 1.7 and a 4.8 back to back after 43 years.
I’m in Bergen County, NJ and our furniture and plants were shaking, walls and ceiling creaking with the vibrations. We live in a condo and went to check in with neighbors, everyone started coming out. The entire building was shaking.
Live in New Jersey - my whole apartment complex in Morris County was shaking. Thankfully no one was hurt, but local earthquake was not on my 2024 bingo card.
This is what we call in California a "Huh, who just moved my chair?"
Exactly, anything under 5 pointer is ignored usually in LA
I'm in northern Connecticut and that was big. Everything was shaking...
I felt it in West Perth, New York. About 5 miles north of the Mohawk River in between Exits 27 Amsterdam NY & 28 Fultonville NY of I90 (The New York State Thruway)
im in central NJ, heard a boom before the shaking. not like the other couple earthquakes ive experienced. i went outside 10 seconds after the shaking.(probably not wise) and it sounded like a plane was moving west by northwest and i could hear it getting further and further and the vibrations coming from overhead. other neighbors were looking to the sky also.
Whitestone in Queens was shaking a lot as well.
my relatives live a mile away from the area and it was really strong. Thank Goodness everyone is ok but scary.
We felt it in Lawrence mass, very strong
We get small shallow earthquakes in SC too. Last one sounded like a herd of cattle running under the floor of the house. Neighbor a few doors down didn’t feel it. Fortunately east coast quakes are normally mild.
Sending prayers ❤❤❤❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 God please protect my family ❤
The god who makes the earthquakes?
@@daroob but did you die
@@valeriemartinez3505 are you suggesting people don’t die in earthquakes? Or that I only care about myself?
Because bedrock - the origin of the movement, is closer to the surface, east coast quakes transfer more energy & damage at lower richter scale readings than those on the west coast.
It felt very strong in my apartment here in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn. I thought the neighbors upstairs were moving something but soon I realized it was an earthquake. Twenty years in NY never felt an earthquake. In Colombia where I’m from, several times, never a pleasant experience.
We have those several times a month out here in California...Usually 3.0 plus. 4.7 can be scary if you're not used to it or have never experienced it. You guys out there are tough. If you can make it through 9/11 you can make it through anything.
I wake up from my sleep shaking first i thought its subway train 🚇 coz i live near subway but as i wake up it felt like house is on vibrating mode..
I was at Brooklyn Day Hab Without Walls in Downtown Brooklyn this morning and felt the building shake. It actually scared me to the point where I had to have my lunch outside and head back home.
Why would you ring 911 if no damage or anyone in danger seems really strange. Wait until is an emergency or danger surely.
I live in Passaic, NJ and I'm almost 60 years old. I experienced few earthquakes, and this one was so scarry because I heard this horrendous ROCKY noise like, many rocks breaking and like if the house was running over broken rocks, that horrendous noise really scared me and I ran out of the house.
about 10 miles from it in Bridgewater....strong rumble and window rattle for about 15 seconds....strongest I ever felt in nj........needed to change my shorts
NitroJunkie1271 we have several large reserviors here between the hills that have to be over their spillways with all this rain we have had....perhaps the water weight was enough to trigger a natural adjustment.....dunno.
I felt it and my friends are in school. I don’t know what they’re doing today, so today is Friday I don’t. I’m sad. It’s my first time feeling this. I’m six years old no eight years old.
Not sure if Iniko was doing her video for her Jericho song, earthquake rumble!!!! My kids were running all over the place except one that was in shower not knowing what was happening now she doesn't wantbto ever shower😢
I’m in Delaware and I felt it I thought it was a truck driving past but I looked outside and didn’t see a truck
I felt the shaking and loud humming noise underneath my feet here in my apartment in Little Neck.
When was the last earthquake there?
Currently in Hackensack,NJ on a construction site - shit was scary for those few seconds
I live just south of Boston, I was sitting on my bed with my back against the wall and felt the house rocking, just slightly, if my back wasn't against the wall I wouldn't have noticed, thought it was construction behind my house.
Scripture says that it would be earthquakes in diverse places and it happened just before the eclipse coming Monday
You do realize there are over 1600 quakes every day right?
That is just as foolish as "wars and rumors of wars."
It's just a trap for the weak minded.
I notice all these natural disasters are on the rise and happening frequently and in places that they normally do not happen. I officially am a little shook with how these events are happening all around the world and at a higher rate. Scary...
It's prophecy
@@Jen-nemo1934 If you never believed in the bible, now is the time to start at least taking it in consideration. So many things are coming to fruition..
Some are but don't think earthquakes are part of the natural disasters that are occuring more often. I think about 10k events of mag 4+ are expected per year. With each magnitude up occuring about a magnitude less often. So for every 10ish mag 4s you expect to see one mag 5, if you do very rough math. The location is surprising though.
@@asdf30111 well, the bible does say that in the last days, there will be many quakes, many wars, also to pay attention to the signs in the sky. There's much more that is now unveiling but those to name a few that stand out present day.
It’s called KARMA for their corruptions
I’m in Watchung New Jersey and my apartment shook strongly. According to the US geological website it occurred in Lebanon NJ .
I felt it in Carlisle, MA.
Wow seriously!!
I am in Massachusetts! I felt it too!!!!
I felt that in Elizabeth New Jersey I thought it was a plane crash at first
Ditto😂 I thought I was the only one who thought it was a plane coming down 😅
Claymont Delaware felt the quake.
Delaware is far away near Virginia

Felt in SO Hadley. Massachusetts bells in music room rang about 5 times
I live in Bensalem, PA, and it was definitely felt here!
It was scary. All house was shaking 😢
But there is a fault line that runs beneath 125st street
We felt it here in Easton, Pa. I thought someone was dragging something heavy across flloor upstairs! A deep rumble for sure!
My daughter texted me from North Providence R.I. said dishes were rattling and her Cat was going crazy! Did not feel anything in Boston.
At home recovering from surgery and felt the earthquake here near Binghamton NY
the first earthquake was like 15 seconds and , I heard a horrendous rocky loud sound like rocks breaking aparts, the third one last like 5 seconds but I heard a weird sound that continued for few minutes after the earthquake. I was on the phone with my sister and she also was hearing that weird noise
There is a major fault line in New Jersey and New York. They should do some investigation before saying anything. It's called Ramapo fault line
In Peapack Gladstone
I go to Hillcrest High School in Queens NyC. BRO THE TABLE I WAS SITTING, IT WAS SHAKING LOT. In here it lasted for like 30 seconds
My dad walked in my room and said “did you feel that shake” and I said “yes” and he thought it was the heater or something also btw I’m in callicoon, New York close to Pennsylvania my brother felt it too and thought it was js him and today I’m going to a waterpark with my cousins they live in Long Island and my mom is at her hair appointment before we go.
Very strong shake & after shocks. From Brooklyn
I'm in lower Pa and the building did shake
I’m in Long Island… definitely felt that! Though it was a MAC truck!😩
Strong in Howell, NJ. Sounded like a big truck with airbreaks and thought it was a commercial plane crash somewhere close.
Hey, question.. Are the earthquake seismometers/detectors located in New Jersey? Because like a lot of the comments, much of the earthquakes were felt here in New York, also ! 🆘😫
Norwalk, CT. Woke us up, thought it was wind, then after a while I knew it was a quake! Good thing it was not stronger, or I would have never have made it out.
