My best friend showed me this song and I instantly loved it, we used to play it all the time and now I can’t hear it without thinking of him, Rest In Peace Bailey, I miss you more then you will ever know
@@fohto1 it has been so far from easy, cherish each moment with your loved ones man you never know when it’ll be the last time you see them, also my name is Izaiah which I find kinda funny that you commented ha, every day gets a tiny bit easier but it’s still a struggling battle
This was, and still is, such a great album. I wish I could go back and hear it again for the first time. Hard to believe it’s already been a decade. How time flies… 😢
Over 7 years I've listened to this song and never subscribed or given a like until now. I'm 34 now and this song hits harder than ever. God bless to anyone who reads this. Understand life is only as hard as we make it. God bless. Hold on. It gets better. RIP Jeremiah Gilliam AKA Jr That Rebel and ain't nobody can stop that! 🙏 PS I am the 420th like and I got the screenshot to prove it bitch 😉
The original’s one of the greatest songs ever written and while I don’t normally like samples this is a pure gem. The artist’s pain easily comes through in both tracks. Respect.
As I started to play Herbert. A thought popped into my head. “Wait wasn’t there a song he did that sang These Days in the chorus?” “And at the end he said Mac these are bars?” And I’m here again 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I remember seeing this years ago but only gave it a listen or two. I swear the soul moves you in the direction that is needed at times. I have been thinking about exiting this grand stage. That feeling of loneliness hurts so bad but this song and what he said is my chest tearing itself in two. I just want to stop feeling so bad but nobody really listens to hear anything anymore. It's all robotic and a generic social contract rather than being earnestly human and sincere. But this song has...something...that I can feel
@@igetwhitebread1572 It does & that is the struggle of the whole dark vibe or depressive decline that takes over at times. Like, I'm in America, on a cell phone, with internet access, listening to great music or other things, pretty much for free. There's a lot of good going on but...I've just been feeling more alone, isolated, disregarded, belittled and overlooked recently. Idk, it's crazy because I'll tell others the right thing when they might be upset & I'll have feeling & real emotion behind those words. But I can't seem to muster any for myself, subjectively. I will continue though because it always gets better & I'll be alright, I think, once this cloud lifts off of me. Thank you for responding to a stranger though. Things like that can keep a person better than words of someone close to you at times. Peace be with you.

Ab-Soul the most under appreciated hip hop artist of his generation .
Ab soul is another level. Galactic man. Kendrick said it don't forget it
I remember this coming right before THESE DAYS. Wow the time has really flown
What Would Soul Do still a banger to this day
I been looking for this song for a min
I TOO
Thought it was called These Days
August 2022. Song still hits the same. 🔥
He wrote this when he was 27 he said.. I’m 36 this is like my whole life
classic song, but the ending tho “you ain’t got bars like that Mac” 😪
also Ab-Soul's last verse on this song is top five of his best verses
STN Ace very much so is, especially since it’s from the heart and not his weird conspiracy nonsense
RIP MacMiller 🕊
Rip mac, thank god soul is still here shouting him out in 2023
My everyday song....inspired by soul....this guys writing is unmatched
Ab soul or jackson browne or both :)

We sleep over this man's music

This will always be one of my favorites. So real, so pure. Very little hits like this.
Right!!!!

That’s the main reason I love this song aside from the wordplay. You still feel the same sense of exhaustion.
I thought it was a sample too. Then I started listening to Jackson Browne. Soul rapped over the actual song, which to ME makes it even more incredible
Have no idea why this didn’t already have a thumbs up I revisit it often over the years always love whenever I’m reminded to listen again 😖🐐💩⁉️🔮🧐🔮🤭

"Can I win one time?" Which is line on here, was also used in Moonshooter on that album.
Lyrics:
Mo' than a man, I been died and rose again
Fast life, slow motion, these days
Well I've been out walkin'
I don't do that much talkin' these days
I gotta stop smokin' cigarettes
These days, these days I seem to think a lot
About the things that I fo'got to do
And all the times I had the chance to
Yo, how the fuck my new girl got me jealous of otha girls
I think I live in anotha world
And I have a luva
But it's so hard to risk anotha
These days
These days
These days
Aye, he wrote this shit when he was sixteen he said
I'm twenty seve, this is like my whole life
This
Now if I seem to be afraid
To live the life that I have made in time
You know all I like to do is keep it real
Solo, hoe
Well it's just that I have been losin'
Can I win one time
So long
Yeah, its that pain you was talkin' about
Can I win one time
So many pills I should've slipped already
My lungs the same color as my lips already
Expensive clothes, insufficient funds
Me & my bros switchin' hoes just fo' fun
The money and bitches is all we care about
Very far from home if you worried about my whereabouts
Chasing the light at the end of the fuckin' tunnel
Pray fo' Sydney, send Tia a text, tell her I luv you
The devil is a lie, neva let him persevere
God took my angel, and left me here, it's happy here
Well I will keep on movin', movin' on
Things are bound to be improvin' these days
It's long term, this shit real
I luv these days
It will all make sense one day my nigga
I even been on songs with Common
It's crazy
These days I'll sit on corner stones
Can't stop me my nigga, yeah
Count the time and Quarter Jones today, my friends
Don't confront me with my faith!
Can't achieve success without failure, babe
I have not fo'got to mend
Diggin' fo' gold in these Codeine bottles
Tryna picture potential in these Instagram models (like)
Information racin' around the internet
Befo the iPad was invented, I had a pad of writtens
Smokin' a cig on the side of the house
Tryna figure it out
The axe didn't cut it, moms told me cut it out
Clem told me always take pride in my work
I clutch the mic with blessed hands at all my concerts
Why his name Solo, how is he so smart
We can see his 4 footprints in the sand when he walk
I like to refer to myself in 3rd person from the 3rd person
That's a outta body experience of self
So I can see me fo' me and no one else
Don't need to see a Em-E, award or no jail
I'm at them like a cell, I just wanna be free
All this chatter from the chattel nigga
I don't speak sheep, this TDE and nothing beyond that
Told Du Dog I don't even need to read the contract!
Yeah, as if some legal documents can stop me
Legalize, legal lies, legal eyes, oh I see
I did it while you were sittin' wishin'
Ask my nigga DZA
All my verses hearses leavin' churches
Not the cheap chicken
And I luv the Beast Coast
But what about the best one
Whats your life without a soul
A dead one
Yeah Mac, you ain't got bars like that Mac
Rest in Peace Mac Miller, he was a great producer and friend of Absoul

It has soul in it, nobody matters more than you do, and the song highlights prioritizing yourself through it all!
