  • Now is a great time to pressure your deer woods. Unfortunately, so many deer hunters pressure their land at the wrong time of the year - the deer season! Instead, take the time during the off season to explore, scout, plan and learn about all that your land has to offer. And do it often!

    Thank you for this. I asked this question to you two years ago on my old screen name. The confidence to use the property the other nine months of the year was enough for us to purchase our parcel.

    Always appreciate the information Jeff! I have based my layout on my place here in SW Wisconsin on a lot of your teachings and over the last 5yrs. The property has come a long ways over those 5 yrs. In those years I have taken 5 PY bucks with a bow and one BC buck. You keep it simple! Well Fairly simple Lol!!! These videos are excellent info and I hope everyone realizes the amount of work you guys put into them. Like I said before thank you guys for sharing the info.

      Thanks a lot! We enjoy doing them a lot. There are so many habitat possibilities to work around it becomes a never ending puzzle. What we should do is to consider common habitat problems to overcome...I like that idea!

    Appreciate all the knowledge you give out, Jeff. Will absolutely implement this advice this year. I’m guilty of not stepping foot in 20 acres for years leaving at as a sanctuary. Breaking it down this way makes a lot of sense.

    Interesting enough my oldest son and I just had this argument. We have a lease and he asked to add his buddy. I said okay. Well the lease is 125 acres, I had a spot that I’ve developed trying to follow your instructions. So I marked out an area to “please do not disturb” well at 59 I park and walk over a mile to my hunting spot. Two 29 year olds drive a SXS back all spring, summer, fall and during the season to the shack they built 400 yards away from me.
    My son is ADAMANT as is his buddy that sxs’s and quad don’t bother deer! Since the buddy moved in the lease is dead except to fawn, does and yearlings. ALL the nice bucks I had visiting my routes and mock scrapes vanished. Its caused a huge riff and my son and I really aren’t talking a lot. Because I politely asked “can you two walk your corn back?” I mean hell I walk minerals back, walk back to check my cameras and such.
    My cameras prove you are correct and those boys are wrong. I’m probably gonna have to give up a spot with years of work to move to the opposite side of the property…but my work is the reason they camped so close so they will just try to follow

      We believe he is on the neighbors, in an area he spends all of his time in the winter, spring and Summer. If it's him he shed by 12/14 and was still alive as of about a week ago. Keeping fingers crossed! We normally don't see him until sometime hard horn in September

    Hey Jeff, like a lot of people, my bucks are gone from march till September, so when they do show up all of the pressure during off season would not count because the bucks aren't there, true? -so i guess all of my prep should be done by late August? I have no place for crops on this property so i use feeders. Should i run them all year long? I'm part of that 95 percent that has a very hard time accessing my property without allowing deer and it's kicked my tail for two years so I gotta get this figured out lol

    I want to know how you get your Glucose alarm not to go off on stand! Mine somehow won’t turn off- (every low or high blasts a beep!)😖 Turn it off on stand??

    • @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
      @whitetailhabitatsolutions9751  14 днів тому

      Hi Kurt! I only care if it gets below 55. So for any other number it doesn't beep 😉 I have every alarm turned off except for that low alarm. Even then I can feel myself getting low at 90-80-70 pretty good. I then keep gel packs (Gu) in my hand warmer that are 22 carbs. That keeps me from getting below 55. I have never used the alarm for highs...I know when my numbers are high, because I ate or drank a bunch of carbs. Also, the highs won't kill you immediately...but a low will. So I'm only concerned about the lows as a whole. I hope that makes sense!

    • @kurtpearson2793
      @kurtpearson2793 14 днів тому +1

      @ Totally!!!! So set my limits at 55 and HI, so I’m only triggering at the “urgent low”. (Which I should probably take seriously) ( snack time!) Great advice!!!

    How can a person bring bucks to there area in the fall? My spot for example, i honestly don't see bucks on camera all summer, maybe a few times but nothing consistent. Then when rut hits nothing unless a hot doe is there, but across the road from me about 150yards on another lease they show up all the time. I usually start seeing the bucks after season like now..till spring.

      Hi Rodney, that's what a large portions of our videos cover.
      *Fall food
      *Fall cover
      *No summer food (usually)
      *No or low hunting pressure
      *Smart hunting decisions
      *Enough depth of cover
      Make sure to watch tomorrow's video...
