Do you have an Ollie's near you? They have carpet remnants that are huge and cheap. Just be careful about that "rug" sliding on the floor.
I bought a rug like that and you have to flip it over and iron it. It will puff up but it’s not the best quality. Mine literally lasted a year 😕

I made it! It is such a mess - I made it before I knew about large scale printing and poster makes. LOL! There are a bunch of good ones on TPT though! 🤣
Can you explain the den thing? I’m a 2nd grade teacher in Michigan
We are just starting it this year! It is based on the "houses" kind of like Ron Clark Academy, but since we are bobcats... we did dens! Each class is in one of the three dens. When students earn a ticket for going above and beyond our school-wide behavior expectations, they put it in their den's box and they are tallied up at the end of every day. The points accumulate throughout the quarter, and the winning den will have a den celebration (30 minute outdoor fun activity) with every class k-5 in that den!
I think I would send the rug back and try again! That backing does not really work so may become a safety hazard !
I was so sad when I walked into my daughters fourth grade classroom and it was not as cute and colorful as yours. 😅 Her teacher had to change rooms at the last minute. I’m sure it will brighten up as the year goes on, especially with colorful projects being displayed around the room.

You need to use gorilla rug tape on your rug. It’s amazing. I get mine from Amazon, but they also have it at home
Improvement stores I think. Put some of that along the edges of the rug and it will be perfectly flat. Have some on my rug at home and they’ve been sitting pretty for three years.
That stuff broke the tile on my classroom floor when they tried to pull it up to clean the floors. I was SOOO glad I didn't put it on the rug, and I wasn't the one who pulled it up and broke the tile. 😮

Oh my gosh thank you for the tips yall! Once the rug flattened out, it has actually been great! Moves a little bit, but nothing that has made me feel like I need to stick it down. So that has been great!

If you don't want to return the rug, could you use rug tape or a rug mat underneath it?

Change the rug, it's horrible. Choose one more colourful, as the rest of your classroom. You're also so colourful.
How do your name tags hold up when you Velcro them to the kids’ desks? I usually tape mine down, but my kids pull off the tape and it gets gross.
They hold up pretty well! I usually only replace them after winter break! The key is to get the velcro close to the edge on each side so they don't roll up on the sides. It also makes it easy to remove them when kids move desks. :)

If going to the gym and grooming at school is going to be a regular thing. Have duplicates kept at school. You won’t have to worry about leaks.
