Thank you Donald for the movie in a silent way. I was completely confused about how to use this method in my classroom until I saw your movie. It makes my way clear.
Thank you, Gisellee. I do not have a lot of experience teaching primary school kids, but I suppose you can apply Silent Way there. I have found the word charts to be quite flexible. Good luck!
Respond to this video... thanks. I don't know if I understand all you say, but thanks anyway. What I really understand is that everybody's language acquisition started when our parents began to speak the language to us: NOT when they did NOT speak to us. Does this make any sense? Why do deaf kids have troubles aquiring speech?

oki Mr Donald!!Thanks so much!! Good luck too! God bless you!:)
@rorshak73 thanks for your explanation. I just follow Stephen Krashen's ideas on language acquisition. He claims that "comprehensible input" is the key. That's why II was so surprised to find about this method, here on youtube, which seems to go in the opposite direction or Krashen's. I hope it really works but, sincerely, it's hard for me to believe it does.
Yeah, I get ya. I have radically changed my approach to teaching and learning languages after reading Krashen. I learned English by having MASSIVE amounts of input thrown at me every day (moved to Britain when I was 9 and lived there till I was 12) through listening and reading, no focus on grammar. I came to learn what adverbs, adjectives and modal verbs were when I got my first language teaching gig at 24. Also, I've always loathed schooling even before getting into languages. You can tell the teacher here sincerely cares for his students, and see that in the middle of the video it gets kinda fun for the class, but personally, I'd be bored to death learning like this. I feel it's wasted time for all the other silent students.

Dear Mrs. Donald thanks for sharing the Silent way!it is amazing..can I apply it with primary children? They are beginners..we are for example studying locations with 6th and pets with 3th...i will apply the chants but I'm thinking about your color charts on the board...Thankss:)
why don't the teacher speak the language to the students. That's what any mother naturally does with her child. I wonder how a child could learn how to speak if their mother never talked to the child.
@manilaenglish wondering what got you upset. It seems to me that what I had just said is too obvious. Anysay, take it easy. Of course there are lots of deaf children who can communicate very well. Who said otherwise? not me. Anyway, I won't continue this conversation because it can be easily upsetting for you, as you have just shown. bye and relax

Thank you. I'm glad it helps illustrate the approach. Exactly the reason I made the videos.
This video is very good guideline for me. I have to teach my boyfriend since he needs to be prepared for going aboard. Thank you!!
Taking your class is so funny. Love the rhythm from 6'25'
Thanks, Susan. It's a lot of fun working with these students.
