    Great video Tomlin. In France where I live, the word practise is the same as repeat: repeter, repeter, repeter. Here is a very helpful idea of what to repeat! I've been repeating lots of your ideas since Christmas, and everyday I make a little step forward, thanks loads for your energy........Alison

    I've been going over this every day for 4 days and I've made huge progress already with bend control, but I run out of breath and find I have to take a breath before coming back up! Suppose I'll just have to keep practising! Thank again Tomlin, once I've ironed out some beginner basics, I shall come to you for more structured lessons. Alison

      Curious how to control air also. I almost want to put my tongue over the hole as I draw in to restrict air cause my lungs just fill up too fast. I don't think that's correct though.

I jam with Lee Oskar, Hohner. and the harmonica series Chicago Harmonica. Thank you for your time and efforts to teach harmonica. peace

    Great video,so an important thing to control very slowly.I just started practicing the C major scale a year ago,and at first, I was going fast then I started to really drawl it out slowly and everything changed.More control. but the best benefit is that it conditions the player to play some really nice slow , controlled melodies etc...Kudos!

    In my opinion, out of the first 4 holes, 3 draw is the easiest note to bend, then 2 draw, followed by 4 draw and the 1 draw is the hardest. I know this is uncommon, but it took me days to first bend 4 draw, and it took me 30 seconds to get the 3 draw bend

    When I´m studying bends and I can play them, my lip muscles always contract, even thou I focous my attention to my throat. I believe it´s because of muscle ressonance, since everymuscle is conected to each other, isn´t it? Is this normal?

    • @TomlinHarmonica
      @TomlinHarmonica  6 років тому +1

      Hi Mark, I would focus on just getting a bend on the 4 draw first (there is only one bend on that hole). Make sure that you have a nice clean single note before you try bending. If you are getting a little bit of a bend keep trying and see if you can get a little bit more each day even if it is just a tiny bit. You might just need to build up the strength in your tongue/throat. Good luck! :-)
