This is another video in our series of Canadian smocking patterns, it is an arrow shaped fabric manipulation tutorial. do watch and learn some tips on how to get this pattern in different sizes.
MATERIALS NEEDED
1- Satin fabric
2- Pinking/Zigzag scissors
3- Coordinating thread
4- Needle
5- Masking tape
6- tailors tape
7- Tailors chalk/crayons/ erasable pen
TIPS
-Ensure you use an erasable pen,crayons or chalk to draw the pattern on your fabric
-Using a long ruler eases your work and shortens the time taken
-taking your measurement in 2-3 different points helps to get a straight line
-Tape the fabric to the floor or table while drawing the grids
-Using zigzag scissors reduces frayed edges.
-Iron the fabric before stitching
-Have a lot of patience especially if you are a beginner.
