Those ladies are amazing songwriters and performers. And the one woman missing, Brandi Carlile is the best singer/songrwriter/artist of our time.

It’s hard to say “the best” when like Pemby and Shires are awesome, skilled, and word painters; and there are people like Nanci Griffith, Bill Andersen, Billy Joel... not taking anything away from Brandi Carlile but you also have to encompass that Carlile has cut a few standout productions by /other/ awesome writers. Realistically Carlile is awesome because she - like these mentioned, like a few dozen other greats - is a musician first not merely a lyric writer for the chart machine.

They are all amazing, but Brandi's voice is missing here. She brings so much depth and dynamics to the group

I wouldn’t miss Morris but the smooth, captivating pro of Pemby’s fantastic delivery and key when flavored with the soaring crispness of Shires vocals and Carlile’s powerful fullness and edge is so appealing in today’s generally boring format-produced popular country and rock music industry segments.
