I like it a lot, minus one thing. How The HELL DID NEW YORK GET ABOVE LONDON AND BERLIN?!?! New York is almost a regular 3 lap track, with barely anything happening (Woo one tiny corner cut that skips the only thing you can do a trick off of in the first 2 laps)! London and Berlin have actually somewhat complex layouts with many shortcut/tricking/drifting (The last lap of New York has 3/4 turns) opportunities each. New York has no standout areas, while both Berlin and London have many (London has the Market, Buckingham Palace and The River Tems, while Berlin has the Grandenburg Gate, Berlin Wall, Victory Column, and train station, plus more I don't recognize for both). I'm not saying that they're better, it's just that they're less worse.
Fun fact for boo lake: as of now this is first time we've seen an underwater segment since base mk8. None of the original dlc, deluxe battle courses, or the pass waves ever have them
I didn't even realize that until your comment. This is seriously the last water we've seen since Dolphin Shoals (or 3DS Piranha Plant Slide if you count the DLC).

London Loop: I really love the fog and rising bridge. Plus, the chain chomps in the canals on lap 3 is a nice touch. Boo Lake: Way too short, but at least the music is good and we finally have another spooky track in the game. Rock Rock Mountain: The ugliest track in the wave, but the long gliding segment and climb up the mountain never get old. Maple Treeway: A classic with amazing music and halfpipes are finally in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Berlin Byways: I love that whomps are finally enemies in a Mario Kart track plus the traffic adds some more flare. There are also so many landmarks in this track. Peach Gardens: The new Mario hedges are beautiful, and the backwards lap 3 is a great addition. Merry Mountain: I love the Christmas presents and the beautiful holiday music plus the halfpipes and the anti-gravity part at the end, but it feels short. Rainbow Road: Absolutely amazing HD rendition of one of the best Mario Kart tracks ever. I love all the added star rings and anti-gravity on the moon. Plus, the dash panels at the start of section 3 being changed from black to rainbow is great. My one complaint is the track looks a lot darker now.
To be honest I think the more city tracks they add, the less unique they become and the more they all just blend together. Paris Promenade is simple and distinct enough that I can recognize it every time. But London Loop and Berlin Byways just feel too similar and the path variation makes it feel confusing to drive on rather than unique.
They seem to have done most of the not very interesting city tracks first. Tracks like Vancouver, Los Angeles, Singapore, etc are a lot more interesting and unique so hopefully this won’t be too much of a problem for the later waves
If you think they’re basic and too similar then open your eyes. They’re all unique. Just because they all feature an asphalt road with buildings doesn’t mean they’re all similar. By the end of this DLC there will be 14 Tour city tracks. :)
You didn’t mention the huge visual upgrade this wave had overall, the worst looking track is Rock Rock Mountain which I think still looks great inside the tunnel and during the gliding sections.
The first time I played London Loop my dad's girlfriend was playing too and she is from Britain so she knew exactly where we ere in the track. It made it so much fun. Also I noticed that the graphics for the tracks are getting better with each new wave
Glad to see my favorite track of any game, 3ds rainbow road, getting the recognition it deserves. Also, the music really is sooo good. I saw a video where the community ranked every song for each track in every Mario Kart game and 3ds rainbow road ranked 1st, yeah thats right, it beat every other track in every other game. Such a good track.
I like the Boo Lake remake, I don't mind them adding interesting dimensions, however I wonder if I'm the only one who really misses the falling walls mechanic. It used to be really neat and fitting to the horror that it starts out easy and gets harder the longer you race on the track because the walls that protect you from free falling get destroyed once someone bumps into them.
I'm not sure if this is just me being weird, or if this is an actual feature, but the boost panels on rainbow road before the tunnel seem to pull you towards the actual path of the road. If that is intentional, that is amazing!
The only critique I have with the 3DS Rainbow Road remake is the section right after the moon. The little boost conveyors don’t make the magical sounds anymore, the tunnel looks a lot more washed out and the star doesn’t light up the end of the tunnel anymore.
When you're on a track with multiple routes that open up later in the race those routes on the mini map should be darker or something because then it would be easier to understand the map.
The tour city tracks are the highlights of every wave! They are always alot of fun and I always replay them, (They also have some of the best music our of any Mario Kart Track)
Story Time: Mariokart 7 was my 3rd Mariokart Game. However it was my favourite game, I know unpopular opinion, however young me found Wii too hard and I mastered DS. Rainbow Road was the track for me from Mariokart 7 that I loved playing the most, it was my final boss. I remember the time I just edged out a Rosalina to get the Mirror three star W after a really wonky race where everything went wrong. I was ecstatic. When I was in year 8, I played Rainbow Road for the last time as my 3DS would stop working after purchasing it in 2011. I was devastated as my favourite track was gone. Then watching that Nintendo Direct in 2022 and seeing my track get announced as a DLC I was excited. Then it dropped and when I played it and the music filled my room, I felt like a little boy in year 2 playing it for the first time again in 2011. Me, 19 and graduated school finally playing my favourite track again. I shed a tear when the N64 theme started on Section 3. I felt happy. Thank you Nintendo.
I just thought of something! Imagine if you could play some of the Tour courses in battle mode without any arrows or barriers meaning you can go wherever while battling! Courses like London Loop and Paris Promenade would make perfect battle courses!
I find it interesting how Boo Lake actually defied the laws of the BCP. It's ironic because of how ghosts break the laws of physics in how they pass through walls.
boo lake is an UNDERRATED GEM, i placed it in S tier. so glad to see someone not bash this track for being 'oh no too basic oh no too short wa wa wa' (pardon my agression lol)
Fun little aspect about 3DS RR that I knew wouldn't come back but still thought was worth mentioning, in the original 7 theres a huge super jump you can do on the last turn, which you do by going for a mini turbo and then drifting to the right and then bunny hopping again to get some height, to jump from right near the slope and land either right on the jump ramp or straight to the finish line if you have TAS level skills. I've stolen so many races by doing that super jump and it was always a really intense thing because its so risky to go for, yet so satisfying when you land it, which I miraculously did often and it always remained satisfying. Also, like you said, you anticipate the turn pretty heavily beforehand so theres a buildup to that huge jump Also, there's a similar skip after gliding off Saturn that let's you skip to the left and straight to the 2nd set of panels like a Mushroom shortcut (which I usually used to do it if I had a triple) (if you want to see some of what I'm talking about look up some TAS runs of the course, theres one with metal mario in the thumbnail that I know has an even more elaborate version of these two skips) I'm of course disappointed these aspects didn't come back in 8, but it was because they smoothed the track out some more so it wasn't just due to 8 having higher gravity like I expected. I still like it more in 7 mechanically and partially visually, but I still absolutely love it in 8 and it easily makes my too 5 in 8, and remains one of if not my favorite track in the series
The draw bridge in London Loop is shorter because that one has a double drawing bridge (as in, the two sides draw up) whole Delfino Plaza's bridge is the entire bridge drawing up.
I believe the reason the Tour tracks are so long is because in Mario Kart Tour, generally speaking, all the tracks have several variations that change what route you take, and are only 2 laps long. So, what the Booster Courses are trying to do is give you every variation there is at once.
man this was really good wave 3 dlc set of tracks. they did almost all of the tracks right in this dlc except for boo lake (which just felt way too short for a track) other then that i enjoyed every single track in this dlc wave.
I think the reason that the Tour city tracks have a long part with almost nothing is for those people who have been to them places to be like “oh I walked on this exact spot” so I do see why they did it
Damn! These tracks actually LOOK good. There is actual detail on them. I hope they update the older waves so they don't feel as much out of place visually.

I think for the blue shell cup they should start it with rainbow road from wii then have the other 3 tracks be 3 completely new freakishly difficult rainbow roads
I love MKW so I didn't like the Maple Treeway remake. The logs are way easier to stay on, especially on the boost ram part. The Wigglers are easier to avoid so not as much rage moments and removing the rope bridge at the end just makes me want to play MKW. I feel simply about Peach gardens but the 3rd wave makes up for that

I'm really not getting enthused by this DLC as much as I wanted to be after the first wave, it's doing nothing to keep me playing the game. However, I have been looking forward to this video as soon as the release date for this wave got announced! XD
Am I the only one who knows that you can high five Luigi in the glider section of Peach Gardens? It’s really charming, I do it every time. And also in addition to that, you can go through Peach’s butt. That’s all I have to say.
I don't think the mario kart dlc is worth it. They lazily take the tracks from mariokart tour and put them in 8 deluxe. I understand that it probably takes a lot of time to make new tracks, but I think they should have at least used the mobile tracks as a base and at least tried to change them to mariokart 8's artstyle
I'm going to have to disagree with most of the points made in this video. I feel like you're really only focusing on the tracks layout without really noticing what else the tracks have to offer. Sure layout is important in track design but it really shouldn't be the only focus. For example with London and Berlin, sure they may have some basic roads without many obstacles, but looking around at all the iconic landmarks that were put in makes those sections pretty fun to play. Not to mention completely missing the point of the last section of Merry Mountain. Driving down the slope while overlooking the village and the christmas lights is a lot of fun. Not every course needs to be in your face with obstacles to be good. Sometimes it's about the aesthetic too.
Here are my thoughts on these courses: Course ranking: #8: 3DS Rock Rock Mountain -- C tier, #53 overall #7: GBA Boo Lake -- top of B tier, #34 overall #6: Tour London Loop -- A tier, #30 overall #5: Merry Mountain -- A tier, #28 overall (next three are the top 3 in A tier) #4: Peach Gardens -- #9 overall #3: Wii Maple Treeway -- #8 overall #2: Tour Berlin Byways -- #7 overall #1: 3DS Rainbow Road -- S tier, #3 overall Music ranking: #8: GBA Boo Lake #7: 3DS Rainbow Road (EDM completely ruins the piece for me) #6: Tour Berlin Byways #5: Tour London Loop #4: 3DS Rock Rock Mountain #3: Merry Mountain #2: Wii Maple Treeway #1: DS Peach Gardens

I’m pretty sure Koopa Cape had a half pipe in mk7
Now we just need toad factory, koopa cape, and wii rainbow road then it's a perfect game

You could say it all went downhill from there
I’ll see myself out
Ha the Whomp are falling on you at the wall. THE BERLIN WALL HAS FALLEN ON YOU
Does that mean the berlin wall in the marioverse was Alive ????
Hhhhmmmmn? An American with UK slander? Daring today aren’t we?
U Said One Of Falco’s Line’s From Brawl And Smash 4
Is that a falco reference?!

“Even if many of us wished London weren’t real”
I live in London.
That hurt me.
I live in Ireland
Join me
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Depends what u mean by that
@@infinitygamez2761 u can come to Ireland if England explodes for some reason
@@millenniumfalconpunch5719 ok?
@@millenniumfalconpunch5719 I mean, what Odyssey said about the UK sort of extends to Ireland because Northern Ireland is part of the UK.
You put London over Berlin that's a win for me 😁
i hate that maple treeway has leaf textures on literally every section of the trees EXCEPT for the wiggler spot... it just looks off
Bro I can't unhear that your cadence in speech is the exact same every sentence. You end every sentence in a drawn out down note, exactly the same way through the entire video. It's a fun video to watch but it's hard not to get distracted by how goofy your speech pattern is
19:50 Don't lie
You did that on purpose, didn't you
Feels like forever ago they announced the new maps, I can't believe we're only half way through lol
There are too many Tour tracks in the first 3 booster pack waves. I hope we get more Double Dash and DS tracks as well.
They’ll add GCN tracks beginning in wave 4, but also beginning in wave 4 will be even more Tour tracks. The first 3 waves had 3 Tour tracks, 2 cities and 1 non-city. You can except a jump-up from 3 after this wave
@@WritingCountingOriginal
We have 9 Tour tracks so far, not just 3.
@@falcons0267 I didn’t mean 3 Tour tracks overall, I meant 3 per wave. But starting with wave 4 you will be *4 Tour tracks* or more per wave, 💥 *brace yourself* 💥
YES, I love these videos.
I already can't wait for wave 4 lol
