I wonder how DN would view the current US system where big business has captured politics via the super pacs - would he view this as open access or limited access ? Similar thought on Arab nations like UAE, Qatar - where there is high level of growth & prosperity but limited access to politics. Would this be limited or open societies ? Must say though I find DN’s works absolutely fascinating.

It is funny how D. North tries to deal with subjects such as Kant and Culture which he doesn't know at all. He should read anthropology theory. However, I like his book "Institutions, Institutional Change and Economic Performance" which is a Durkheim's work.
