If only edm's had an indexer..or a diamond supported wire vortex to form like a chainsaw-ice sculptor. Cool vid. It is interesting how the edm combines machining and plasma cutting.

Its nothing like "plasma cutting". Its a ridiculously expensive, slow, inefficient and wasteful "bandsaw".

Trying to learn edm. I need to wire the complete perimeter of a 20 lb spline gear . How do I support it as it gets toward the end?

Is there a quick calculation to determine the time it takes to complete the machining process?

Inches of cut length divided by cut speed (feed rate).

You said your edm has an automatic wire setting . Does it also have an automatic fix to 30 second contacts?

For a 30 second contact call service. It could be simple or hard. Good luck.

hello do you know how to use the vertical alignment device tool?
I usually align the device getting 0.0 x axis by a dial gauge only
do I need to get the Y and Z axis to 0.0 too?
