LOVED this video! Love the lamp you found. I find thriving here in Canada a bit of a challenge, this was fun to watch. Thank you for bringing us along.
“Vinnies” is all over Australia, it’s one of the best known thrift stores and they do A LOT of charity work, employ people with disabilities, help the homeless, the list goes on and on.
Wait Vin’s not only is in the US but all over the world! OMG that’s amazing! Wow they do so much, now I need to go support them more now that I know they are all over.
@@MaileyElaine yep! I thought they were just Australia and New Zealand so we both learned something today!! They are the OG of thrift stores over here. Even when you go to other thrift places, you say I went to vinnies” 🤣🤣

Hey i watched the video where you almost quit because i never saw it but i just saw your channel and this channel is soooooo underrated. But you recently sped up so hope you notice that.
As a person who loves to read and prefers actual books over e-books, I can't comprehend that people buy books just for decorating. That's basically blasphemous to me! 😅 But anyway, I really enjoyed this thrifting adventure and really liked how the video is edited! Also, your decorating skills are amazing! Your house looks so beautiful and cozy!
Haha don’t worry my husband is the same way you are. So he usually ended up be interested in the books I buy. 😂 and thank you so much so glad you like the video and my decorating that means a lot!
@@MsReveur old books are pretty, what difference does it make if it’s on the shelf in the thrift store, vs being on the shelf at Mailey’s house? Most of these old books just sit around on dusty shelves or in boxes for years, not being enjoyed by anyone. At least Mailey is giving them a new and happy home on her hand crafted shelves.
Hello.. just ran across your channel so new here! I love thrifting & antiquing! I collect & decorate my home with primitives, antiques, old vintage, Victorian/regency & French country pieces. I have lots of different collections! Old books is one of them.. the older, more tattered, battered & discolored, the better😁 I love anything old & made of wood.. the music box was really pretty. Old lamps are one of my weaknesses! But I love having them all over my home.. multiples In some rooms. I use the really small ones for night lights. I rarely turn the overhead lights on in the living room, i pretty much just use lamps. All of mine are either vintage or antiques tho, i don't really like newer styles in my decor even tho some are really pretty. That's A really beautiful one and it looks vintage too! I want to do one of the lamp shade DIY covers with the strips of fabric! I have only have a couple that have shades, most of mine have glass shades. I'll probably thrift one to do it on 🤷♀️ The Crystal pieces are gorgeous! I love a good antique mall! I just moved to a suburb just outside Tampa FL, there's a really good one in Tampa I really want to go to soon! I want to decorate the tops if my kitchen cabinets with antique coffee grinders, copper kettles & old tins. I have some but not enough, so I'm on the hunt for more. I could score on the grinders there huh?!😁 I need about 3 more. I love brass candle sticks & the chamber style are my fav! That's A good price. Lol I'm the same way, most of my books i have no idea what they're about! I do collect old bibles & hymnals, which I love! My leather back bible is really special.. it has a hand written note inside the cover, given to a sister by get brother on Dec 25, 1879! I love finding writings or little notes tucked inside! I also like styling them turned backwards where the pages show instead if the binding, if the pages are discolored & tattered! Gives a different look to a row or stack of books. The brass tray is a really cool piece! Love the shape of that big plaid chair. You had A really great haul! I totally enjoyed shopping with you & sharing! Thanks for taking us along😊
Thank you so much for subscribing that means a lot! It seems we have a lot in common with our decor styles. I do like a touch of modern here and there but try to keep it all old and vintage or at least vintage inspired. Thanks so much for watching and I'm so glad you found my channel.
Wow you went to a cool area with all of those antiques Mailey! 😊 that looks like a really cool store you went to also! Keep up the goodwork with your videos! ☺️ it’s really cool that antique store was local too to you! 😊 keep up the goodwork with your videos! You look really pretty in that green coat! You are twice as beautiful in overalls and you are beautiful in general! Thank you for being a good friend to me since 2021! ☺️
The clear glass dishes bring back alot of memories from my childhood. Those clear glass containers were at my grand parents home and usually held those Christmas candies with the strawberry wrappers, and there was usually still a handful of those candies left up until Halloween the following year. Sometimes they held Worthers Originals, but they never lasted. 😊 Great video as always, I think you made some great scores, especially with inflation and a trip to McDonald's cost $20 now. ☠️ Hope you are having a great weekend!
I liked seeing your hometown. The downtown area was lovely. My mom was from Appleton so I always feel an affinity for Wisconsinites. Thrifting is not my jam but I'm here to support you so I'd watch another. I love the shell (capiz) box! I would have bought that, too.
Mailey, when you said”Siri find me” my Siri came on and asked “where would you like to go?”😂 then you asked Siri again and my Siri came on again😂😂😂. So fun, absolutely love your videos and your sense of humor and for sure your talent! Keep the videos coming!!!!
Oh I will I’ve only had that happen one but it wasn’t with a glass container it was a teacup. Whenever I make candles with vintage containers I don’t let them sit too long lit after that.
Thank you so much! Yes I have now discovered they are indeed across the US. I thought they were! I’ll definitely be hitting more locations now that I know they are across the US
This was such a good video, I really enjoyed going shopping with you from afar. 😊 What is it like for you filming in public? You seem very comfortable with it.
Oh I'm so glad you did! Filming in public is interesting for sure. I think having my mic and being able to talk quietly but still be heard was super helpful. I also just had to force myself to be comfortable with it. I'd rather film and put together a good video then be to scared to film and have the video not turn out. So I put on my fake comfortable pants that day! haha 😂
Yeah they do I still try to look for things that are from the 20s-60s. I think technically antique is anything before 1978 is but I know that will soon be the 80s and 90s
