Yes! I learned many years ago to do little tasks over the day to cope with the little energy I have from CFS/ME. The Lord gave me a saying when I first became severely ill of "baby steps get you a long way over time" & it's absolutely true! I praise God for His help! I'm also thankful for my amazing super hero hubby who helps me with things I can't manage. 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
My mom grew up in the depression so she was a saver. When she passed there was lots to go through. She did slowly go through things and passed on lots of stuff for the last few years. I have some real special sentimental items.
Wednesday, I made a reply that sometimes I wish I had a night off from cooking. My husband prefers my home cooked meals & I enjoy cooking. I consider it a privilege to still have my husband, and sometimes my family, to cook for. At my age, my mother had been a widow 10 years. She still cooked after Daddy died, but my siblings and I supplied most of her meals. I keep leftovers in the freezer, and also buy frozen foods for when I cannot cook. I really am thankful that I have family to help take care of. Dining on a Dime cookbooks have simple, and delicious, recipes to follow.
I’ve rewatched this video many times. It’s hard to see you cry Tawra. Thank you for sharing your story. It helps remind me that as a Christain we need to give from our hearts not just go through the motions.
Don't know if you will see this after 7 months but I had this video playing while I was working on house. The get your buns up as background sound is really motivating. It's like having a helpful friend in the house. Might sound silly but it really helps.
I have POTS and they are suspecting MS. I have a lot of chronic fatigue and pain. I set a timer for 5 to 10 minutes per room and i just do what i can. Youd be surprised at how much you can get done in 5 to 10 minutes. My hone is rarely messy. I have your planner it has been very helpful since my pain meds tend to make me forgetful.
Mama suffered with fibromyalgia for years along with other health issues. Her fibromyalgia affected her more than most people realized. Our parents taught us to clean up and dress daily. I'll never forget the evening Mama called me to take her to the ER because she thought she was having a heart attack (and she was). I went to her house, and she was still putting on lipstick and mascara, while in pain!!! My grandparents were the same way.
I do things in spurts too and even though I don't have a planner I do have a notebook and I keep a running list of things that need to be cleaned and done. I have a space on each day where I can add things that I didn't have on the list, but did accomplish, such as called & made doctor appointment, sent out birthday card, repaired torn seam on pillow, etc. It gives me so much more motivation to see how many things I can actually achieve. I love seeing those checkmarks.
You're not a twit. I grew up with a single mom and we had to drink water- juice was a treat. We shopped at thrift stores and saved up for everything we needed. She cooked "cheaper" food to stretch a dollar. Mom prioritized our spending so well and we lived within our means
Im sorry Tawra about the freezer burnt old food. Thats sad! They should have bought you new food from the store! Thats rediculous! They aren't even embarrassed! ❤ You are such good people. God knows your heart. I know you never forget that. Mike you explain things so well! Thank you! 😊
I went to the doctors yesterday and was told I am officially not old at 70 I laughed at this than got thinking retirement age in the Uk is now 65 to 70 depending on the year of your birth so the government has up theage you are old I was told you not old to you are 90. As for food bank I do not give too. I pass one on the bus when going to town. The car park is full of cars I have never been able to afford to buy or would buy. People ask me how my husband and myself live on £220 a week the answer is you budget and learn to shop cheap and cook from scratch. I got a very old copy of your book it is my go to . Keep doing what you do.
😥My sister passed away last year. She lived in our family home I grew up in for 60 years. I had to go there and liquidate everything (she was a horder) and sell the home. She had mortgaged it so when I sold the house I got $0. Infact, I spent almost $20,000 to clean it up and ship stuff (things we cherished) to our home. I was able to give many of her items to people that needed them in her community and I know she was up in heaven happy to know that!
A lot of people need to get a grip! There's no excuse! Thank you for all your common sense. You two are so smart! I love it! I learn a lot from you! Love your hair Tawra. 😊
It's the same people for years in my town standing out by walmart with a sign need money. You would think after so long people would not give them money anymore. They go to their car and they are also probably getting social security. They are dressed nice. Wife and husband.😊
Sorry I missed your live stream darn yep I have 2 appointments already for my dentist I love this planner too I have it sitting open all 5he time on my desk. Good way to start your day kudos to your planner
Just getting up and making your bed and getting dressed truly is so motivating. Then wash your face and brush your teeth. Then I go work for 5-10 minutes. Then say as soon as I get that chore done if I’m tired I’ll rest for the next 30-45 minutes. Then working for 10 minutes doing the next thing. It maybe cleaning bathroom cabinet under sink. Then rest then go clean toilet and shower. It’s amazing once you get that done you feel motivated and up to going a little further. Once you see progress your motivated to go further and further. I feel so motivated and truly it may take me a month to get the house completely gone through but then I just stay up on it. Motivation is the feeling of seeing my home clean. I am now focused on getting rid of stuff. As to much “stuff” is making me feel overwhelmed. Seeing those bags go out and having less stuff makes me feel so much more motivated.
We discovered last year that you can rent just about any kind of ladder or painting platform you might need. The prices arent all that bad. We have a small house and dont want to buy and store stuff that we dont need very often. You might be surprised at all the things that can be rented.... Even tarps and drop cloths.
I live in a very small mountain town in the Rockies, 2 hours from any chain stores or chain restaurants, so I usually order groceries from Walmart and they deliver them for free on orders over $35. I recently joined the local senior citizens center, and on my first visit there, they practically begged me to take lots of food from their little grocery area. Now, I go 3 times a week, and take groceries each time, plus I get a free lunch and time to socialize. It has helped so much on my grocery bills - even though I am well able to pay for groceries. I am able to get a wide variety of canned goods for stocking up, and I get fresh fruit and veggies and frozen meats about once a month there. No, I am not destitute. I did not go to a food bank. I did not ask for any free food. It was lavished on me by kind, caring seniors, and I accepted. I very gratefully appreciate this free food and I don't feel badly about accepting it because it is always given with such generosity and caring, and it truly helps keep my cupboards full.
I am so sorry that you had that aweful experience. I always look forward getting sick or having a surgery because i get such yummy food that i dont make so it is fun to taste what others fix.
I have been following this advice for years. I always feel like I am "missing something", that's why I clean in those increments. The advice carries over to perfectly well (whole) people. I keep watching the show "Hoarders" to keep from becoming one. I love "stuff", but I need to keep telling myself that I don't need this or that. When I lived in an apartment in a different part of Jacksonville, my water was orange. I went and bought a Berkey filter, and it made such a difference. Now that I am living in a different part of town, I have calcium issues which really doesn't bother me. My sister-in-law had given me a box of something late summer that the owner of the "bin store" that we shop at for her flea market store, had just passed over to her on her way out the door. I had it sitting in the garage, the rest of the summer, all fall, all the way up until this week. I opened it, and it was gingerbread house kits, complete with gingerbread cookies, candies, and even the icing to decorate with. The boxes these were in (4 of them), went to the recycling bin, and the gingerbread cookies went directly to the garbage. I will be giving the candies (they look perfect) back to my sister-in-law as she is a candy hound. I kept the icing for when I make cinnamon rolls. I put it in the freezer. I am making sure that my "stuff" is organized because I don't have anyone to give it to, who would want it. So I want all the books in one place (I have a few cookbooks including yours, a few dvd collections, all my yarn, etc), to make it easier for my brother, whose house I live in and rent from, to dispose of. He's welcome to the toilet paper, the dish detergent, etc, and whatever else he can use in general, sort of as payment for disposing of my stuff.
I totally agree with YOU on people using foodbanks. I don't always agree with your politics (at times), but on this subject, you go get them, girl. 😊 ❤
I am 76 year old widowed woman and I clean a room a day from top to bottom. I take alot of breaks tho but thats the only way I can do this. I can still mow my grass and I can still shovel. I would love to have a planner but since I do not have one I write down everything in a tablet.
Can you please post a link to the stair tread covers you mentioned? Sounds like just what I need for my awful basement stairs.. I tried looking on home depot website and couldn’t find it.. I’d have to order online there isn’t one nearby. Thanks!
You are not a twit. I just don't understand people and their thinking when it comes to feeding their family. My son gave me the bone and some meat from his ham from Christmas. When I mentioned to someone I was going to put it in the crockpot and make lentil soup out of it to freeze they turned up their nose and said their family wouldn't eat that. Why would someone rather eat processed, chemical laden, expensive food instead of a good homemade hearty meal? My son said he saw a guy on the corner of his town with a sign asking for money and a little later he saw the same guy walk about a block and get into his big new truck parked behind the hardware store.
My family know what I’m like and make fun of me ( nicely) and bring their carcasses, like chicken and beef leftovers for me to make stock with. It’s just the best and I make no apologies for it.
Never hand out your hard earned monet to people on the street ! I bought water and a sandwich for a guy he sold it for money , I gave to a guy cleaning car windows only to see him in pizza store with a wad of bills that was huge so conclusion you are not the solution to the problem you create it there are many places ect. that are willing to help but many turn that help down
I used to work at a Home Depot in Tacoma, WA. A local guy would park his late model Mercedes in our parking lot, wearing the grossest awful clothes and walk to the off-ramp of the interstate about a block away and hold up his sign (homeless need help, God bless). He did that 5 days a week for I don’t know how many years.
My coworker said that when she was in nursing school she got together with old high school friends that said she didn’t know why my friend was working so hard. She was just going to go on Welfare.
Still driving a 2002 Toyota camary with 375,000 miles. Body needs work have black electrical tape holding molding on. On rainy days have to stuff napkins around sun roof to keep rain of me. Wear a rain hat that looks like the hats the chinese wear in rice fields. It deflects water from my head.
@Living On A Dime To Grow Rich Thanks for your preeching and budgeting show. Is it possible to do a show on gluttony, or the lust of eating, and how to get rid of it biblically?
Somebody wrote a book called Swedish death cleaning. It's about putting a guilt trip on older people and telling them that they are irresponsible if they don't get rid of all their stuff now so that their poor spoiled little kids won't have to clean out their stuff when they are gone. I agree with you I like my stuff and I'm not going to get rid of it just so my kids can hurry up and sell my house or whatever. And I am definitely not a hoarder. I just like decorations that the minimalists see as clutter. Really stupid in my opinion.
I understand what you’re saying except the spaghetti part. Spaghetti can feed a lot of people and maybe that’s all someone can afford. But I understand. Love your show. I’m not a cook but I can cook that.
We moved to a small town joined the church. We were expected to help the people who have been in this town all their lives and donate and cook for their families. I learned real fast it would not be returned. When I was in ICU almost dead I had 4 kids at home and my husband was trying to work my mom was caring for my kids and the church didn't cook 1 single meal not one person offered to help. We will never return to that church because we've been back a couple times through the years and it's still the same.
Years ago a Missionary told the story at our church about being excited to receive a package in Africa since they needed many things. They paid a lot for Customs and took it home to find nothing but USED tea bags.😢😡
Tawra, whenever you guys decide to replace the counters, I'd like to suggest not getting stone. We have stayed at places with granite & thought oh these are hard. Those thoughts were fleeting because it was just temporary stays. Then we were blessed to be able to redo our ram-shackled kitchen & got an amazing deal on quartz. They are super pretty, but they are just too hard. We've accidentally broken so many glass items --never again! Yes the stone can be stunning, but every time we break something, I can't stand it! I've lived with cheaper countertops for 40+ years & have never had this rate of breaking things. ~I thank the Lord for his angels protecting us, we've not been cut.
Also, you guys are definitely right about the "homeless". I've seen a "homeless" person get dropped to their corner, like it was them getting dropped off for work, 1st thing in the morning, out of a brand new mercedes. That was real cute. If someone feels that a homeless person is genuinely homeless & want to help, then get them something to eat.
I have more to say -I know all about that donated garbage food experience too. & Donated trash instead of clothes. The food was thankfully easily worked around. But that was interesting. I've been donated for myself & our new baby absolute garbage clothing....but I was in no position to do any different. It was all so terribly stained. I laundry sprayed that stuff & toothbrush scrubbed it all for weeks --then whatever still wasn't savable got trashed. Another time our family was the go between spot before our church's donations went to a missionary group that sent things off to their missions in Haiti. Thank God we went through the stuff first. It would've been awful had we not. There were so many clothes that were completely unusable. Unlaundered. Stained. Diaper blow out & never washed baby clothes! Clothes that were used as rags & never washed, still donated, complete with blood stains. Clothes ripped beyond usability. ACTUAL DIRTY DIAPERS intermixed. It was appalling! Needless to say there was a ton of disinfecting & laundry happening. Sure it's being donated to one of the poorest areas, but what the heck?! This one lady wasn't terrible, but she donated a bunch of really warm winter stuff. After all that other mess, this made me laugh. Haitians had no use for that. I make sure things I give away/donate are never anything like that trash, no matter what.
Just remember, a lot of food people go through is mental health deeper problem, that you may not understand completely. It’s not slapping garden face. It’s a mental health problem that needs to be worked on and with the help of a professional person Careful with your words.
Your hair looks beautiful up like that. First I've seen it. Been subscribed for a long time, but never get your notifications on my main page anymore. 🤨
Tara, I just wanted to mention - you never know what it’s like in until you walk in someone else’s shoes. Thanks for info that y’all share. God’s Blessings to you and your family. I hope to be able to talk to you someday.
My niece would claim to my mom that she needed money for food and gas. I would see on Instagram that she got a $7 coffee drink, got her nails done or she would be out at a bar getting drinks or at an expensive restaurant. When I saw that 47% of my mom’s income last August went to my niece, I said something to her. She lied and said she has never asked for money. Apparently I am the bad guy. I believe she has bad mouthed me to her brother and dad. It’s easy for her to manipulate my mom because her mom (my youngest sister) passed away when she was nine and my mom feels bad for her. However, she hasn’t done the same for my nephew. I agree about providing a complete meal. I always have included dessert.
My husband had wish sandwich when he was a kid because he wished he had meat one of 5 kids single parent and there was not but so much help they could get
In regards to people using food banks that really should not be getting food from them. I heard a Pastor say that there are lots of people who will spend their money on their WANTS and then go beg for their NEEDS. It is so crazy, I was raised that you work hard, save, and budget for your wants after bills were paid. Last days stuff, lovers of self. Just sad... Edited to add: Thrift stores in my area sell the less than good clothing and other items by the pound to a buyer usually for 30 to 50 cents a pound.
Great video, i have a book you may be interested in. It's called i hate to housekeep. I found this ideal for busy people, and the super lazy LoL. Yep you are correct get off the butt.
You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT about Welfare & Food Bank people. Most not all have more than I do as a working full time 68 yr old who has Not taken my SS yet because I can't afford it until I'm 70 to get the most I can get. Besides the Lord says in the Bible you should ALWAYS be working. Retirement came from man NOT the LORD. I will say I'm Very Blessed by the Lord to have good health. Soooo much more to discuss on this BROKEN program. (1)
This is going to be fun, for me anyway. Where we live now, I cannot put my things out, until we renovate rooms. I would like a small china cabinet again, but now have really fallen in love with my plants. I like propagating them, and watching them grow. I don't have a lot, because I don't want a big mess. I found a cabinet, that also works to put full grown plants in, and to propagate them. So now I am going to dig out awhole bunch of things, not only from the rolling tote my china is in, but in the sheds outside and sell them on Marketplace. I want to earn enough money to buy the cabinet, and pay for the gas to go get it. So now I'm even more motivated than ever to get rid of things. I don't want a china cabinet anymore, because I don't want all the ornaments I have collected. So I'm trading a bunch of un-wanted things--to me, for something I really do want and have room in the house for. We're starting tomorrow to take pictures, and to un-load my china out of that tote. Time for fun things, instead of stuff sitting in totes I wont look at for years.
Regarding things our loved ones own after our loved ones pass away. A couple of my Mom's coffee cups are sentimental to me because we drank coffee and ate breakfast together every morning. I was her caregiver for about 10 years. She was in a wheel chair after chemo therapy because chemo hurts your bones. I never let her being in a wheel chair ever slow us down. We bought an expensive battery wheel chair and realized we didn't even need it or the ramp that goes in your vehicle. It's better to buy a regular wheel chair that folds up and you can put in the back of your SUV than the expensive wheel chairs, much easier solution, so save money and don't buy the expensive electric wheel chair. The electric wheelchair is too much of a hassle.
I quit donating after volunteering at a medical clinic. The number of people wanting free healthcare driving nice cars, iPhones, new clothes and purses…. disgusting. They were better dressed than the doctors.
@@LivingOnADime i said that to them and was told it doesn't get everything by the company we we went through. Our whole neighborhood bought them and have the same problem. The county tested our water and told us there are no issues. It stains our tubs, showers, toilets sinks ect with a red stain. I have to use pumice stones to get it out . They said it's the red coat in our soil. Our water looked horrible before the water softener. I wouldn't even drink it
We buy that sometimes. They come colored. Quick lunch food, with some bread etc. But we are dept free. Cheaper than some Lunch meat, so would be cheaper than Sandwich from store or restaurant. Tastes better than homecooked.
Tara some people may eat that way. (Or they don't really care) i am not sure. Some just do the bare minimum or maybe just have low standards/no knowledge of nutrition.
Mike has such a nice, pleasant personality.
Love his smile!! Don’t worry Tawra, I’m happily married to a wonderful man.

Yes if an item is stain toss it , use it for rags, make a quilt out of the good parts or clean and give it to the animal shelter after CLEANING it.

Commercial cleaning actually works!
Thanks for the great tip 👍🏼
That is super cute ponytail!! It matches perfectly
We ate a lot of beans and hmemade white bread. Grwing up we also ate pancakes and oatmeal.
I love the way your day planner breaks down the tasks in a simple and organized way. It takes the guesswork out. TFS

I've done 15 minutes per hour chore time. Rest the remaining 45 minutes of each hour. Your plan is really great.
You are so right about the food banks. I always shop sales nothing else you are not a twit I stand behind you all the way. Thanks so much

I wish I had a garage, lol! But I get your point about putting things where you will take them out.
“The dog mopped the floor all day long”😂😂😂 lol Mike. My 2 kittens do the same thing.
I'm pretty Happy about how I get things done
Thank you so much for the motivation. You are so right, and some things i needed to be reminded of.
Congratulations on the suv!!!!! Right on😊❤
Ive 😂lived below the provertiy level before went with out alot but this more of our best time with our family sent a lot of family time

I think you guys are great keep doing what you do.
Hello ladies! Great info on your videos. QUESTION: Where did you buy the white shelves with drawers? I need this in my sewing room.
Me too!
Happy New Year❤❤❤
I totally agree with YOU on people using foodbanks.
Awesome on stair well.
Love love your hair
Can you please post a link to the stair tread covers you mentioned? Sounds like just what I need for my awful basement stairs.. I tried looking on home depot website and couldn’t find it.. I’d have to order online there isn’t one nearby. Thanks!
Here is something similar (affilate link) amzn.to/48HNGLC
This is such good advice ❤
I usually agree with your comments but someone bringing a meal of spaghetti, salad and bread .i would be grateful.
The point of the helpful meals is that they are prepared....this was a box of uncooked pasta.

Ah I was wondering. The five year food I was thinking, if that’s all the family had to serve. If they had better then shame on them. That’s tacky.
That is so delicious! I do that! ❤
My family know what I’m like and make fun of me ( nicely) and bring their carcasses, like chicken and beef leftovers for me to make stock with. It’s just the best and I make no apologies for it.
I make beans with the ham bone .I like the beans better than the ham dinner.
Are you going to be putting out a new cookbook anytime soon
Still driving a 2002 Toyota camary with 375,000 miles. Body needs work have black electrical tape holding molding on. On rainy days have to stuff napkins around sun roof to keep rain of me. Wear a rain hat that looks like the hats the chinese wear in rice fields. It deflects water from my head.
@Living On A Dime To Grow Rich Thanks for your preeching and budgeting show. Is it possible to do a show on gluttony, or the lust of eating, and how to get rid of it biblically?
I CLEAN AND DO THINGS JUST AS YOU DO. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN OR MY BODY WOULD FEEL LIKE I SHOULD BE IN TRACTION LOL
Wow, I didn't know about this "Swedish death cleaning". I agree with you, these kids are spoiled if they want to inherit but don't want to clean.
Been doing commercial cleaning for years. I'm far more motivated that way.
Your hair looks beautiful up like that. First I've seen it. Been subscribed for a long time, but never get your notifications on my main page anymore. 🤨
Tawra: People get it together & get your buns up. 😂❤️
Correction: get it together, people. ☺️
Yes, please, to the side job video.
Love Mike’s Dad jokes 😅😂
Tara, I just wanted to mention - you never know what it’s like in until you walk in someone else’s shoes.
Thanks for info that y’all share.
God’s Blessings to you and your family. I hope to be able to talk to you someday.
Yep and I HAVE walked in those shoes so I do know.
My husband had wish sandwich when he was a kid because he wished he had meat one of 5 kids single parent and there was not but so much help they could get
I love you too ❤
In regards to people using food banks that really should not be getting food from them.
In Wichita yesterday at kroger/Dillons 99 cents a lb for fresh ham, chicken breasts buy 1 get 1 free
Church people are not always perfect. Sorry you were treated that way. God bless you.
Great video, i have a book you may be interested in. It's called i hate to housekeep. I found this ideal for busy people, and the super lazy LoL. Yep you are correct get off the butt.
1 works
You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT about Welfare & Food Bank people. Most not all have more than I do as a working full time 68 yr old who has Not taken my SS yet because I can't afford it until I'm 70 to get the most I can get. Besides the Lord says in the Bible you should ALWAYS be working. Retirement came from man NOT the LORD. I will say I'm Very Blessed by the Lord to have good health. Soooo much more to discuss on this BROKEN program. (1)
1, these are the same reasons I don’t give to food banks
Amazon Prime is going to start having commercials soon also. If you don't want commercials you have to pay extra. So annoying.
Hello from Puerto Rico 🎉🎉
I am loving your hair piece.
I quit donating after volunteering at a medical clinic. The number of people wanting free healthcare driving nice cars, iPhones, new clothes and purses…. disgusting. They were better dressed than the doctors.
By thee end of the week we can lose 10 pounds ❤
Flour and water pancakes are what we call hoecakes here in the south.
We have a brand new house with a water softener and we have red water. They said it's minerals in our water.
The filter is supposed to be catching that.
I wouldn't even drink it
2. I just don’t watch TV lol. I don’t have time for that.
AFR?
Aww look at your hair tawra that is so cute

Ive seen people with signs food needed wearing nickis, or eating subway
You should rename this video organizing if you are chronically ill. May help some new people 🥰
Hair is cute today!
I saw someone on snap buy egg already hard boiled
Eye roll
Nooooo.
I’m not in their shoes, I prefer not to judge
They may not have facilities for cooking.
