Sir, I'm concerned with the classification you gave about the pumps. I don't know which source you referred to but gear pump, lobe pump, screw pump are positive displacement pumps.
It is also refer as positive displacement but not in the sense you are thinking. It pump fixed volume like other PD pump but they do that by rotating and not by reciprocating.
@@HardHatEngineer Centrifugal Pumps are dynamic pumps not Rotary pump. Positive Displacement pump have further two main types as reciprocating Pump and Rotary pumps. Rotary pumps are fixed flow type pump like Reciprocating pump. They have mostly High pressure and low flow. Centrifugal Pump works on the principal of converting the K.E to P.E and so outlet pressure is higher at outlet.
you are right.. pump should be classified either as dynamic or positive displacement pump. dynamic pumps include centrifugal pumps and positive displacement include the vane pumps, gear pumps, piston pumps, etc.
everything about centrifugal was really awesome. But the classification at the start at 1:17 is somehow not properly ordered and seems little incorrect.
edit - And centrifugal classification is really helpful.

I see is a flowserve pump picture. I have a question which better to choose API 610 BB3 or BB5 for Hydrocarbon liquid with Flow 165 m3/h and Npsha only 2.5 m?
Check with pump manufacturer as they are the best to suggest most suitable pump for particular fluid.

why do people use radial split casing? isnt the axial split casing easier for maintenance of impeller?

Can you enlighten me why positive displacement pump cannot be rotary pump? Everything is 100% correct in this video.
