I can't lie I forget this episode and Empress of Mars so much. Between the rest of this series being pretty good and the banger finale, the only redeemable elements are the brief fun moments with The Doctor and the companions
this episode is bizarre, not sure how or why it exists. I think next weeks ep is such a 180 from eaters of light, thankfully. I can't believe they squandered a good episode title aswell. I was so hyped because i thought it would be something akin to the Silence.
Nah! Love and Monsters is (mostly) wonderful - LINDA, the music arrangement, and Marc Warren are all brilliant..Peter Kaye is dreadful, I admit. And I can't ever make my mind up about the blow-job joke. As for this one? It's a bit dull, but it's not as bad as Empress of Mars.
Eaters of light is misunderstood. I think its supposed to mark a physical and mental crossroads for The Doctor and Bill. On its own, it's a weaker story of the series, as a whole and when viewed overall for the arc from series 8-10 it makes sense from a growth perspective.
Series 10 is almost entirely dire, the worst series of DW by far by this point. (The naive heavenly days before series 11-12 and then the god awful Ncuti) but strangely this is one of the episodes I didn’t actually mind that much
@@DiamondFire I just find it really bad, Bills acting isn’t the best, there’s loads of cringe dialogue, the stories are bad, it’s the beginning of the ‘progressive’ interference. This series was definitely the top of the slope downwards into the sorry state we find ourselves in today. The two part finale is brilliant, really good story, the last best final of Doctor Who, it’s just I find the rest of the series bad to get to that point. The last proper good Doctor Who series ended for me in series 9. It was the last series where an issue or a message or forced in inclusion wasn’t done. Series 10 jumped on the forced trend, and it all spiraled out of control since there
I just wanted to say how much joy your reactions bring me!! Thank you for brightening up my Sunday evenings! Much love, mwah xoxo
Thanks for your dedication to giving us all of these wonderful reactions ❤ so excited for the next few episodes!!

Underrated gem of an episode.
the last "Good Film" from luke was such a funny end to the video.
I really like this episode. I always like episodes that people don't like and don't like episodes that people like. That's just me
I have a feeling that we're gonna see Ncuti leave by the time Luke and Deepa get to series 14/1 😅🥲
12:19. That’s my thought for almost every single thing that has come since series 10
"Eaters of Light" more like "Eaters of Shite"
Oof, bit harsh. Though if you're looking for a better version of this story, the Target novelisation by Rona Munro is actually quite wonderful.

Well it may be awful but it not awful as Love and Monsters episode. lol
Love and Monsters is a good Jackie Tyler episode. Some good character building and empathy for her.

Sounds like Deepa doesn't like the 12th doctor
Skill issue

6:11 for those that dont want 6 mins of nonsense

this is a wild take, S10 is so good 😭😭
No for me series 10 was the last good series of the golden era of Doctor Who.

But at least Jodi felt more doctoresque than Ncuti
@@markcolgan3262 I’ve seen garden gnomes that are more doctoresque than Ncuti
I deeply appreciate your honest opinion of when an episode is good or not.
I wonder how Deepa is gonna feel about the Chibnall era. 🫣😬
