I met El DeBarge when he was a teenager! His uncle Bishop William Abney brought his church choir to LA for a concert at Bishop R.W. McMurrays church, and El was on the organ tearing it up!! I talk to him, called him, and wrote him a few letters! He totally shocked me, by coming to visited me at my home! He was so nice!!! Wow, what memories! This was back in the 70’s!

Momma loved Debarge music and passed to pancreatic cancer on 1-10-18, I have alot of great childhood memories of listening to El's music. I would practice his high vocal chords before my own performances with my mother. I have a 5 octave range growing up on this music. Rip mommy I love and miss you so much already😢😢I hope EL will read this to know how much his voice meant to us.

The poor man was so talented but so filled with demons that was caused by the people that were suppose to protect him that he didnt even have a life ..when he was a victim..I am praying for the healing of their family ..for their mother to be a church lady she did not protect them ..it was so hurtful to watch ..now that we know that there are children that are hurting learn from this and be there for them ..love them ..spoil them ..and watch them grow into healthy adults
