We have a hero-worship culture which has been the reason for our undoing most of the times. The reason the aussies are champs is because they can take tough calls keeping emotions out of the equation. They have dropped smith, their best batsman of the last decade or so, for the t20 wc. They recognise the fact that although smith is a generational talent, he is not the best option in t20's.

I don't think Abhishek ko directly world cup me lena chahiye.. There are many other batsman.. Shubhman ko bhi chance nai mila.. Ruturaj itne badhiya form me hai unko jai liya.. Abhishek has very hige career ahead and will definitely future world cups.. this is not the last t20 wc.. At least let him play few series in Indian Jersey first.. Previously aise jo players liye direct world cup me dekho kya hua tha.. Prasidh Krishna.. Varun Chravarthy.. Etc.. IPL is different league and WC is altogether different

And in LSG, KL takes too much pressure, he doesnt trust his batters, which is a poor sign, Punjab was different story, there other batters were actually poor. Also, i think he shouldn't have talked to KL like that in public, but lead players must be held accountable, or LSG will end up like others. Also, just to play devil's advocate we can't even hear what they're talking about. I simply didn't understand a cowardly approach by KL last night.
Kohli don't trust his batsmen. He intentionally plays for his own run that's why he don't gives impact by his batting. Rcb has goodd batting lineup but kohli used to play deep upto 16 overs and managed to score runs at 150 strike rate only..that's why rcb lost and rcb fans don't blame kohli. Kohli is main culprit behind rcb's loss. When you don't give proper overs to your batsmen then be ready to be kicked out of ipl everytime.
That's why i love csk. Csk atleast trust their players.
But apart from that one innings where his SR was 118, he has been good this season. Faf was terrible initially, Maxi has been poor. Moreover VK has been faster in PP this season at least.

1. Qualifier 3 & Finale in Chepauk where both Travis head & Abhishek Sharma performance is not best. In WI India will have slow pitches like Chepauk.
2. Abhishek Sharma is a clean hitter but when ever Travis head gets out quickly Abhishek has failed to carry match on his own shoulders.
3. Abhishek Sharma should have been in reserve rather than Gill but in crucial matches it's high risk when Rohit performance is not up to the mark there jaiswal has experience to manage the innings as per situation.
4. If Virat Kohli opens then jaiswal also won't get chance. In future India has openers Ruturaj who give stability & then competition will be between jaiswal & Abhishek.
5. He has no experience in outside India & the pressure for national is much different than IPL. He should be trained for it so remove gill take him as reserve.

If we pick players basis IPL performances but they fail at international level. International cricket is totally different. Even a promising Tilak Verma failed after a few good innings. Add Deepak Hooda and Dinesh Karthick to the list as well. Surya struggles in Odis. Krunal used to be good player in MI, didn’t perform well for India. The list can be longer. So too early for Abhishek Sharma to walk in to the worldcup team directly. He is exceptional talent for sure, but should wait, else early failures could dent his confidence.
