I was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope. My vagus nerve also caused my irregular heart beat. I also had depression. 8 years on night shift. I had neuro work up to sleep at 8 hours at night for 1 month and I felt better.
Didn't get a night shift job ever since.
@@mitchbarnes882first urgent thing I did was quit the night shift job. 2nd, complete a full night's sleep. I should be asleep from 10pm to 2am. I needed to try to have at least 4 hours until I can do 7 or 8. Then when my body got used to a regular night's sleep, I needed to work on my heart so 30 minutes of leisure walks per day.
@@katkat4986 Interesting, this started for me after I was getting barely any sleep and the night before my first episode I only had 2 hours. I'll make sure to start walking everyday from now on. Thanks :)
@@mitchbarnes882 some people can stand being wake the entire night. I've always thought I was a night owl but my body told me, "NOPE". Simple walking works. Singing and playing musical instruments help as well as mentioned by my neuro. They keep the nerves and brain stimulated.
What kind of heart irregularities do you get/feel? Mine is skipping a beat & racing heartbeat.

What about a hyperactive gag reflex? Just having a dry throat will make me gag. I definitely have the digestive stuff... acid reflux, diarrhea, constipation, also swollen sinuses without any infection, constant clear sinus drainage , depression, anxiety, serious low back and pelvis pain, chronically knotted muscles... occasionally I get headaches or may faint. It all comes and goes. Sometimes I feel great for weeks and months but then I'll slide downhill for 4 or 5 months.
Autonomic neuropathy brought on by Covid that attaches to the vagus nerve…stimulate your vagus nerve and see how you feel….hope you get well
@@jaydonnelly3224 my symptoms started long before Covid. Since having Covid things may have even improved slightly. I've been getting prolotherapy in my SI joints past couple months... he identified my glute medius (both sides) are extremely weak. The strength returned immediately after the treatment. But right now part of my back like over my left lat area is numb! That's new! Maybe I'll ask my doc about the vagus nerve and also try stimulating it. I try this once in a while and it makes me feel kind of sick... kind of the feeling you get when you try a cigarette for the first time. Sort of queezey light headed weird feeling.
I'll subscribe to your channel but...can you answer a question for me? Is there a way to relieve pain? I just had a ACDF surgery on my neck on C6-C7. After surgery I yanked my neck the wrong way I haven't had a gag reflex and I'm in extreme pain. My words are getting mixed up it feels like a constant spasm in the back of my neck. I lost over 20 lb in less than a month I also can shove my fingers all the way down my throat which I was never able to do that without gagging. I have a lump in my neck and it's right behind the plate and my nerves are growing around this lump or the lumps growing in the nerves.
What's the best pain med for vagus nerve
Can this also cause sudden hearing loss? And back of roof of mouth spasms? Thanks x
Boxing’s a crazy sport
When I am put under anesthesia and am intubated by the anesthesiologist for surgery, I leave surgery with painful intractable hiccups that can only be stopped by a 50 mg injection of Thorazine. I believe that the nerve that is irritated is the vagus nerve.
Any suggestions??

I have forward-head-posture and have lost my voice due to paralysis of my left vocal fold. I was wondering if it can be cause by a pinched Vegas nerve in the neck?
I've had upper back pain for over a year. Had all tests done, chiropractors, pt, acupuncture, laser, no diagnosis no help. I've also throat pain for almost 3 years. I just started having pain in upper abdomen. All these pains are only on the right side of my body. Does this sound like vagus nerve damage?

I had covid at March 20 , at March 29 my tachycardia being upright started and its been there since. Can this be caused from a damaged vagus nerve?
Hi doctor, 10 months ago I got a hiatal hernia repair surgery and since then I am dealing with many digestive trouble that I never had before. During the first 4 or 5 months after surgery I had constant nausea, explosive diarrhea and lack of appetite, stomach gurgling and occasional stomach pain (20 to 30min after eating) that made me sweat and felt about to faint (never did). These symptoms have slowly disappeared around 80% but I still continue with diarrhea 6 days per week and some nausea. Are these signs of possible Vague Nerve damage after the hernia surgery? If so, what can be done to alleviate nausea and diarrhea?
I've got a haital hernia think it pressing on my vegas nerve have headache, neck pain, abdominal pain some numbness in hands and feet rumbling stomach feeling tired a lot .
We did a video of a patient that had the surgery and allowed us to perform the hiatal hernia maneuver. Watch our playlist. It’s there

I recommend seeing a specialist, I couldn’t possibly diagnose your condition over youtube. Sorry
Is it worth trying this for acid reflux. I don't vomit but have trouble swallowing and have low saliva. I also have chronic anxiety
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by having this procedure done. Let us know if you have any questions .
Have pain in my jaw area- my right ear- there’s like a tickle- when I move my ear around I feel a tickle inside my ear or back of my ear- like a tender area that hurts- I checked with the doctor and they said I hd no ear infection- had x rays and exams done can’t find the root cause- I thought it was my top wisdoms but pain continued after removal- Hard time swallowing- her to talk- pain is mostly located around the right side of skull around the ear- behind the ear jaw area.
Also- I had a lot of trouble with covid- seemed like I had long covid did test positive twice- pain started around that time and has persisted for over a year- at the time it was hard to breath- seemed like my sinuses where always clogged- a lot better now- it was he’s to swallow and hard to breath had to become a mouth breather-
@@killerbvato notice I didn’t get any but I did get the test a couple of times and I have the same symptoms as you , the technology that’s in the jab is also in the shot..we are far beyond viruses and parasites this is technology/radiation that’s in our bodies and it sits in the vagus nerves behind the ear
So now I know i can sue that ent surgeon who did my INTRAORAL styloidtecomy coblation surgury !
does it also causes nausea, heavyness(eyes), headaches all over, neck pain and all?
Yes. I have the same thing and it took me two years to figure out what I had. The heavyness in your eyes is lack of blood to both eyes and brain due to vasospams from the vagus nerve. The vagus nerve is probably put under stress by a spine misalignment. I hope u the best because this sucks
@@learnerdas probably. I just figured this out but i am seeing a chiropractor who sounds like he knows what hes doing so i guess ill see

Tinnitus is difficult to get rid of. They’re not sure what causes it either. Sometimes it can be from a cervical (neck) condition.

Hi there dr
I’ve had sore throat for over 2 months now . I had sinusitis and flue December 17th of 2022 and had antibiotics for it due to the flu I couldn’t eat properly so I had bad acid reflux. But sore throat went for a week or two . I was put on omeprazole 20mg around 31st of December and 4-5 days later sore throat was back but only on right side and horse voice plus hurting right ear . Specialist ENT
Doctor said this was due to acid going into my throat so was told to up the dose to 40mg of omeprazole. I went down hill rapidly from taking 40mg of omeprazole. Bad anxiety attacks. Bloated. Heart pounding and zero sleep or food for 4 days . I realised it was through the omeprazole so stopped them . But still getting mild symptoms and bad anxiety. Plus my ear and throat are the same . Any information be great to where I should go from here 🙏
D/C the omeprazole. Get some chewable DGL (reflux drink see licorice) at health food store (or on line). Chew 2 before meals and at bedtime. This will heal the mucous membranes of the gut.
@@jimmythedog2882 I found out what caused it all. I’m infested with worms causing inflammation of the gut . PPI’s cause your stomach to be a breading ground for them .
I have same problem when I take the ppi' s I get same issues how are you doing now?
Hello doctor, I hope you could answer me, Two years ago when I was at the class and my teacher asked me very simple questions , while I was answering her I start feeling my self speechless and very nervous,I start seeing white color every where and my heart beating wasn’t normal and felt at the top of stomach was shaking, and in the last two years I couldn’t have a well shuteye, I also have a swelling thyroid gland with 4,5 cm size but the doctor said it’s normal.
When I talk with people I do notice myself that I don’t have a connection between the subjects that I am talking about, and I am also noticing that, and I do wake up sometimes to pee.
Do these symptoms have something to do with vagus nerve?!
Is there anyway to make sure if it is or not before going to the practice?!
Autonomic neuropathy brought on by the Covid virus attaching itself to the vagus nerve protective sheath.. stimulate your vagus nerve and you will feel better very soon…. This is not being told to the public although it is now widely known throughout the medical community….sick anxious people need doctors… stimulate your vagus nerve..all the best recovering from your exposure to this bio weapon virus
In my opinion, you need to get another opinion from a different doctor. If you still experience the same and more. Don't wait
I had Covid 2 years ago. It caused massive inflammation in my chest which eventually led to an umbilical hernia. I later found out I had Gastroparesis and that during the scans they took my vagal nerve was “dysfunctional”. Has anyone had these same symptoms and had any success in treatment? I am struggling with my job, sleep and just life in general. Please respond
Im only having the most trouble with my sleep I’m physically unable to sleep cant breathe properly internal vibrations numbness in arms fingers i cant take it anymore i just wanna sleep
Could be a herniation in your neck may want to get an mri of your cervical spine.
Waitt… I have all these symptoms too. Do you have any updates regarding on how you overcome this?
Gillian Barre Syndrome. Gastroparesis Crual Stuff 😔😔😔
