Also great that your wife picked it as one of the quieter ones - I have a long suffering husband whilst I have got to grips with the high D so hence my question re options of which .ie D to get to lessen the pain whilst I get yo grips with a low D 😂
Sue, my pleasure and I completely understand, and it was a fun question to explore. I have found that the volume and pitch of a high D make it much louder than a low D, so that’s a bonus. The long suffering often comes as I’m playing a tune through many times as I work on it. 😂

So incredibly sorry about all the damage you and everyone around is experiencing from the storm. Yes, being able to play is so relaxing and refreshing. A nice break from the tension of the damage
@LowDWhistle the whole country is in a mess they have line crews coming in from Austria and Finland by land. That's incredible they took off 2 weeks and decided to come help the guys from Austria. Took them 27 hours through several countries to get here. That's so incredible.
That is wonderful and amazing. Hope getting everything sorted out does not take too long. It is so nice to see that there are still kind-hearted people.
My James Dominic is soft but I think the nature of the PVC makes it so. Also, it takes a lot of ramping up on the breath to play the uppermost notes, so not quite so soft there. I’m trying to play along with the Aran Boat Song but still struggling with the C# to D, seems I need to key on this in focused practice. Really considering the MK PRO, though. Aside from the sound, volume and tone, I think the anodized aluminum does it for me.

I just blow over the top, stealth moooode. Not perfect but works when I need to be quiet.
