I think you made a GREAT point!! Especially sending your contract to your agent EVEN if you booked it yourself. Paying your agent for business you booked yourself also just shows your agent, this is a TEAM effort and you believe in that team and that they should be compensated as part of that team!
Hey, new subscriber. I appreciate your knowledge and candidness. Recently I was approached by an agent looking to represent me who also acts as a manger. I spoke to my acting coaches, my mom, prayed about it, and I’m leaning towards signing because I feel it’s time to take my career to the next level. My agent isn’t local to me and he wants me to do an annual 300 class and monthly class via zoom. At first I was hesitant but I feel it’s more appropriate because I don’t have that much experience and I see develop is important to be better at my craft and the cost isn’t jaw dropping
Good stuff. Thank you. This has come up before, whether to pay your agent for things that you book yourself, and I heard heard before that, yes, you do that just because it’s nice too. This gives more reasons.
With the pandemic making virtual the new thing and self tapes becoming more and more common, do actors who want to branch out will still need to move to LA or NY or Chicago to get an agent and auditions in those markets or can they only travel for meetings, callbacks and such? How has the pandemic affected the business and relocation vs ten years ago? And what city NY or LA better for branching out of the local market?

Should an agent/manager get paid once the client is not signed with them any longer but the job they booked through the agent/manager is still running?
I always notify my agent anytime I get an audition not booked through her. It's just good practice and keeps us all honest.
Great job Kristian!
