This is the episode when you realized that Bertholdt, Annie and Reiner have a better life inside the Walls during their mission compared to their life in Marley.
It's amazing that a show can make you wait 3 seasons to find out what's in the basement and still deliver on it. So you are going in with huge expectations because it's been so long and also it's been talked about as this thing that will reveal the truth of the world. And it met if not surpassed the expectations. This show is so well thought out ahead of time. The show was already very dark when it started, but it somehow can get more dark as time goes on.
5:50 At this point, we already know 8 Titans. Remember that Eren has TWO Titans (Founding and Attack). Then we have Colossal (Armin), Armored (Reiner), Female (Annie), Beast (Zeke), Cart, and Jaw (Ymir) Titans. So only ONE Titan is missing at this point.
5:34 Bertholdt's, Reiner's, Eren's, Annie's, Zeke's, Ymir's, Freida's, "Doggie", 9th undisclosed.
We don't have to go back decades to see people closed off by "walls" and not permitted to go in and out of their internment zones. This is still very relevant today...

I was waiting for your episode 14 reaction so I posted this comment. Your analysis and reaction are great. I made this summary on an another UA-cam channel. I know this is a long freaking comment, but please give it a read anyway and it has no spoilers.
- Approximately 1820 years ago, Ymir fritz made contact with *the devil of all earth* to obtain the power of the titans. All her descendants are called *subjects of ymir* or *Eldians* .
Note: Founder ymir is different from freckles ymir who love historia.
- Founder Ymir's power was split into 9 titans. The power of these titan was used to create *Eldian Empire* after they defeated the great nation of *Marley* .
- Eldians are a race of people who turn into titans when they are injected with *titan spinal fluid* . No other race can turn into titans except eldians.
- Currently most eldians live within the three wall on *Paradis Island* (Maria outermost, Rose, Sina innermost). However, there are cities outside of Paradis with isolated *Interment Zones* where eldians are forced to live, and can't leave without special permission.
- Eldians who live outside of Paradis are forced to wear *armbands* at all times.
- The empire of eldia oppressed other races for hundreds of years, until Marley brought 7 of the nine titans under their control during *the great titan war* 80 years ago.
- *Marley* is a world superpower with seven of the nine titan shifters under control in a squad of so-called *Warriors* in their military. Reiner, Annie, Birth hole, Zeke, quadrup titan are the current warriors.
- All eldians are *brainwashed* since young age to make sure that they don't rebel against the Marley if they do become warriors. Just like how Grisha's father was telling him about the sins of their ancestors.
- But we also see reiner and birth control regretting and feeling guilt when they are doing there duty as marleyan warrior.
- Apart from Marley there also exists different nation, culture and religion.
- Eldians, as a race, are seen as *Devils* by the world due to their ability to be turned into titans and their ancestor's bloody history, which may or may not be entirely true
- Eldians living in Marley who are insubordinate to the Marleyan government are sent to Paradis to be forcefully turned into pure/mindless titans to serve life sentence.
- The first king of the walls threatened that, if anyone would dare attack Paradis, he would send *millions upon millions* of colossal titans sleeping inside the walls to trample the world.
- However, we learned in S3E10 that whoever inherits the founding Titan becomes *kind and compassionate* like Uri Riess. But Eren yeager doesn't seem to become that way.
- The place where Grisha yeager lived is called *liberio* . Dina Fritz was the first wife of grisha and a royal blood. Zeke Yeager is the first son of grisha and is also a royal blood.
- In Marley there existed an underground movement to restore Eldia known as the *Eldian Restorationists* that is led by a secret eldian in the Marley military known as *The Owl* , which Grisha yeager joined at 18 years old.
- The uniform that marleyan police are wearing is same as those police in Ymir's backstory in S2. I think up until S3E19, we have only seen *Non-eldians* in Ymir's backstory, all other humans are eldians.
- When Zeke pointed his finger at his parents, we see his grandparents were standing behind him and also there was an *another person* hugging him.
- The true identity of the owl is revealed to be *Mr. Kruger* , who is also one of the 9 titans, a titan shifter.

Attack on Titan is not just a good anime, it is a good show, fiction overall, nor matter what medium it was presented in e.g. manga, drama, movie, novel. Isayama is a brilliant story writer from the beginning, but he wasn't great as a manga artist at first. In fact, his drawing skills as a mangaka was actually widely criticized in his earlier days. If you looked at early chapters of AoT manga, his drawings were very messy, weird body figure and unrecognizable characters. (He got better with practice though)

Hola Jez, pues muchas cosas te lo dicen implicitamente y tiene logica lo que dices cuando algo que mencionan puede pasar posteriormente. Sin embargo dejame felicitarte eres de las pocas personas que hace un analisis profundo de este capitulo, he visto otras reacciones y no llegan a entender ni el 30 % de lo que esta pasando alli. Por cierto al ser film instructor de cine has tenido que ver muchas peliculas y los guiones a veces suelen inspirar a otros y te da luces a donde va la historia. Sucede que yo mismo pude adivinar como iba a acabar Atack on Titan sin necesidad de espoilers y realmente paso lo que tenia en mente en el capitulo final ya que hace mucho vi un anime que tiene la misma trama final por no decir casi la misma, al parecer el autor Izayama se inspiro mucho en otro anime. No te dire cual es para no arruinarte el final aunque apuesto que tu tambien lo adivinaras antes de llegar a el🤣🤣
claro, los guiones siempre suelen seguir ciertos patrones y no solo eso, me fijo mucho en el aspecto fisico de los personajesda tambien muchas respuestas si sabes donde mirar, asi es como supe de Reiner y Annie casi al principio
