Here I am, 28, depressed and battling thoughts of suicide. I have help and I will never lose this fight. As I sit here and watch, filled with tears, I’m at a loss for words of how amazing this film is. Some great life advice and a whole new outlook. I’m truly blessed beyond belief and while I have people to make proud, I will also make Jim proud. It’s so crazy how someone else’s life, losses, accomplishments & well being can really impact another. To that, I found my second life. Thanks, Jim.

This is without a doubt, one of the most touching, and personal things I have encountered in my 66 years on this planet. So much of what you said in this film, was taught to me by my own father, who took the time to show me things in the outdoors, and explain a lot of how things lived and died. I admit I became quite emotional watching this, unashamedly so. Thanks Jim.

I’ve been watching this man since childhood, long before UA-cam and the internet were even a thing. He understands the woods the way I do, it’s like our sacred place, where our souls truly belong. Our connection to nature goes beyond any religion or human philosophy... It transcends all of that. Jim is such a wise man, last of a dying breed. I’m incredibly grateful for this film.

I true my believe in your words about how healing nature is to the soul.
As I am now an older man of 52 and am at the stage where older loved ones are starting to pass, I’ve gone back to the peace and tranquillity and healing power that nature offers by the plenty.
I recently lost my father and me always thinking I was strong in times like these was taken aback at how much it really messed me up at the same time trying to be strong for the others in my family dealing with the loss.
I remember taking my mother out for a nice long drive in the country backroads free of human activity to a beautiful view point just to ourselves and she mentioned as you did that she could see, and feel his presents in the beauty that surrounded us that day and we left that place for home with a soft smile on our faces. A truly healing moment.
Thank you Jim for your years of footage and stories for us to be apart of.

I just guided a client and the best moment of our trip was watching the sun come up over the borealis forest. The sky was full of all the pinks, reds and blues that only the sunrise can create. This was amazing!!! Thank you all that put this together. Jim has been an inspiration in my life. I grew up in the pacific north west I graduated Highschool in early 1990’s. My dad took me hunting before I could even remember. Then I became a hunter myself. Growing up I’d watch hunting shows on tv but they were always whitetail hunting from a tree stand. I couldn’t relate much because I hunted blacktails on pubic land. Then I came across Jim’s hunting shows around 2006. Love watching his shows because it wasn’t always the hunt but the adventure of it all. And the boy at the end of this video talking to Jim brought tears to my eyes. What great advice Jim gave those kids. Hope one day I get to meet you Jim Shockey. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I’m nobody, I strive to be famous only in the eyes of my wife, my children and grandchildren as nobody else will ever know who I am.
This video showed me that there are others like me, connected to the soil, the woods, the water.
I too, escape to reset my mind outdoors, hunting, fishing, pushing the boundaries of my capabilities.
It starts to get harder to push at 54, to intentionally make myself uncomfortable so that I can keep feeling whatever life I have left.
The video supported and encouraged my drive.
