🥴Yep, I expect Wargaming is trying hard to lose their player base every time they introduce yet another overpowered, overpriced premium ship! I've wasted almost $100 buying a premium acct every month for $11.99 at a time. But I'm NOT going to spend $59.99+ for ANY of these top tier premiums. That leaves me(and the other 80% of players) stuck with tech tree ships we WASTED time grinding, only to get shredded by premium ships like this one, or Roma. I just had another disastrous Epicenter battle where an Odin player just cruised straight up our right side, and I tried to stop him with my Monarch. I was in HE due to destroyers, so I decided to burn him down. I angled so severely while kiting away from him that I had to turn slightly each reload just to get all my guns on him. I fired probably 6 main gun salvoes and 2x as many secondaries, but didn't start so much as 1 single fire!! My mains were only doing 503 damage per hit! I have tier 4 cruisers who's guns do 503 damage, but fire 3x faster! He killed me and still had half his health left over to kill 2 other of our ships, for 90,000 damage! So apparently Odin is immune to fire, and can easily take out tech tree ships while suffering minimal damage. 😠That's not even to mention the issue with NEVER being rewarded XP from ship missions, and despite dozens of screen shots proving it, their support people don't even acknowledge my support tickets! Yes, and that's surprisingly effective. Odin under concentrated fire won't last for too long. I've had a fair amount of games where I thought my team was pushing, only to find out that they all turned around, and I was shut down by NCs very quickly.
She’s more of a fast battleship over a battlecruiser. Mainly because she is quite tanky with that Krupp armor and can brawl like a battleship. Plus she has great speed so yeah a fast battleship that looks fun as hell to play! 😄
Yeah, the definitions are a bit fluent. The main point of distinction for me is that she has a lower health pool, and good incentive not to set her up for armour, but secondaries. Also her acceleration allows you to dodge torps like you would in a cruiser. Tirpitz I'd play at 5km, this one at 7.
@@FunandGameswithTerry the German brawlers are my favorite. Bismarck specifically. I find that she’s even good at range. The German stigma of horrible accuracy doesn’t hold with her for me. I didn’t do an accuracy build, the standard secondary build.
Just got Odin in my life. Only played 2 trial AI games to figure out which equipment to throw on her, figured I’d look into some reviews as well. The secondaries reload is a bit long but I’m thinking the main belt for elite bonus. Thinking accelerate and maybe speed for 2 and 3 equip slots. I think a few more knots may benefit me more then the turn time. I’m fairly happy with the stock turn. We’ll see. I know it’s AI but my first game was 100k dmg 2 kills lol Only play AI for new bare ships to see how I want to go, or to get a feel for the ship if it’s drastically different then what I’m playing. Hello, last night I had an unbelievable fight. Two bots on each sides, that makes it a bit smaller. Anyway, at the end I reached 176,000 damage in my Odin. She is really the best ride of all.
I was so confused listening to you say the guns are 56 calibers in length. So upon my research I found that it does make sense. The US navy would measure its barrel length by a multiplier of the barrel caliber. So a 305mm L/56 has a bore of 305mm and a length of 17,080mm (56×305).
However is that the effective barrel length (end of chamber to end of barrel) or from the breech face to the end of the barrel. As a side note the Baby Babylon the Iraqis were building in 1990 was a 300/305-308. Yah, 308 calibers long. I have no idea just how they expected to aim the 1000mm version. Maybe distort the barrel along with varying the propellant charges. It's a good thing it never got built. Before I retired I worked for a company that builds, repairs and services featuring centrifuges for waste treatment and othe uses. When they brought me in for the interview the first thing I thought of was Saddam's gun projects. The main body of the machine is a stainless steel tube anywhere from 150mm to 760mm inside diameter. And here I had thought lab centrifuges when I did the on line job application. They tried to talk me into sticking around but it was time to go.

Might be the league reset. The first week is always wonky, because you get legendary league players mixed in with beginners. Tends to get better after a week or so.
Odin, easily. I’ve played both. The Scharnhorst is a very good ship that you can play in a pretty similar way, but bring an Odin with in 7-8km of another ship, activate secondary overload to let loose those 128mm autosecondaries, add some longer range torpedos and watch them melt away.
That Richelau (sp) was attempting in game #2 to carry the day by bayonet with the spirit of ELAN. Now I have to uninstall the game and see if I can re-install because I don't have enough memory available to install the upgrade. I just better not lose all my chips, so, silver and gold.
@@FunandGameswithTerry I take the memory amount back. Its 2.36 gigs on my tablet (Samsung Tab A). I've only got about 2 gigs free after all of the stuff I can't delete so when an update comes out i have to delete a bunch of stuff. When i got the tablet i got the one that you can't run apps of the smart card.
Meh, I don't really bother too much about these things. I'm happy ending a battle with no kills but a decent amount of damage done. I do tend to apologise if I steal one by accident, e.g. because I missed torps in the water, because some people value their kills a lot.
This is a question everyone has to answer for themselves. I could have bought a full, just-out PC or console game for the price of that pixel boat. I could play the game without spending any money, and still have the same level of success. I bought it because it's a ship I enjoy, and more importantly, because it doesn't hurt me financially. I'd encourage everyone to ask themselves these questions before buying anything - is it worth it for me? What else could I buy for that price? Do I have the money to spare? Having a 9yo who's into gaming, I can see the pull these kind of things can have. That's what parents are for - when I was a kid, I'd spend my pocket money on socker trading stickers the day I got it :)
I will say it’s better to check on how money you have left and save up on money. In my opinion it’s not worth the money to buy Odin, Wargaming can be evil on your money and I know what Wargaming is like with making Shit ton of money on a OP or Broken Premium Tank or Ship and people say they want this Premium tank or ship to be nerf because it’s too OP or Broken Wargaming in their Minds or Alien like to them say what are you talking about this tank or Ship is Fair and Balance and it didn’t need a nerf. Or Wargaming wants your money for something else..... I’m gotta stick with Tirpitz because what’s the point of getting a other Tier 8 German Premium Battleship like the Odin were you already have Tirpitz or should get Tirpitz. Well if you payed Real Money for a good Premium Tank or Ship and it’s get nerf because it’s op or Broken everyone or few people are gotta be mad or piss and they want a refund, This and this and it comes a mess or you payed real money for buying that Premium tank or Ship to keep the Servers going and keep the game going and bring new players to the game.
Terry, this is a paper tiger. I crush Odins regularly, now that they have come out, and everybody has one. You forgot to mention a small detail. They can’t do the only thing a battleship is designed for. Hitting targets at long range with giant guns while deflecting or absorbing huge amounts of punishment. When I see an Odin in my REGULAR, FREE, Bismarck, at a distance of 8-13 kilometers, i see a victim,! Lol. I take out the knife and fork and put out the good silverware cause it’s dinner time. They know it and start running for their lives (the smart ones, the stupid or blind ones just disintegrate under the weight of [let’s say I 2 miss2] 6 hit out of an 8 shot salvo which will claim 1500 HP per shot (not counting the lucky citadel) x 6 = no more Odin.
Odin is a battlecruiser. She's fast, manoeuvrable, and has an incredible damage output at 7km. Going up against a Bismarck is obviously a tough fight, but I'd wager that an Odin can dodge most of Bismarck's long-range fire. I would probably fire HE, since I don't think the 305s are going to do much, and the 128mm auto-secondaries have a reload of 4s and a fire chance of 2%. Combine that with the excellent torp angles, and Bismarck will never see more than an angled Odin. I'm not saying Odin or Bismarck are more powerful - it comes down to the captain, and for me, that's the beauty of it. Odin isn't invincible by far - rush out into a crossfire, and she just melts away. I still have my Bismarck around, and my Tirpitz, and I love them dearly :)
@@FunandGameswithTerry I certainly agree about the danger the torpedoes pose. Also the classic 3 x 3 layout, with the extra 2 x 3 super-firing over the main battery is certainly FAR FAR Superior in 1-on-1 scenarios, total agreement with U on that. But in any kind of team match up the Odin’s benefits fall apart.

I generally don't build specifically for AA, since that build is mostly for divisions, and I like ships to be general purpose. I've got a video plan on the shortlist to do a full AA build on the Des Moines (why not Worcester? Because DM is a tick sturdier, and I'm planning on chasing planes without getting blapped), but not on my personal account :) I really prefer fire prevention on higher-tier German BBs over the acceleration module. Once they move, and the path is layed out, I rarely stop anyway, and I do tend to be on fire (a lot) - anything British that isn't a cruiser, anything American that is, carriers, the works. Getting back to Odin - battleship, battlecruiser, meh. It's a just a classification at the end of the day. The armour holds up well enough that you can take on more than one ship at a time, and (again, purely for gameplay reasons) I think the low health pool and slow reload on the mains actually balance her frankly ridiculous secondaries quite nicely. Playing Odin in a bottom tier game is a challenge. At the end of the day, it's still an arcade game, albeit with a nice historical touch, so my expectations are levelled accordingly, unlike if we were talking about a full-realism simulation game.

Can this ship be bought? or is it yet to come into the game or gone?
Which ship is better for it's tier; Odin or Scharnhorst? They seem to be very similar in all regards
Just make sure you're logged in with a wargaming account, and none of your data will be lost.
@@FunandGameswithTerry
Uninstalled, re-installed. Works fine. Still sucks up like 1.92 gigs of memory.
@@FunandGameswithTerry
I take the memory amount back. Its 2.36 gigs on my tablet (Samsung Tab A). I've only got about 2 gigs free after all of the stuff I can't delete so when an update comes out i have to delete a bunch of stuff. When i got the tablet i got the one that you can't run apps of the smart card.
50 bucks Scharnhorst. Can't justify it when I just got Scharn for ten dollars
Same also whit camo
Absolutely. I've got Scharnhorst, and I'm enjoying her just as much.
What's the difference between bucks and dollars?
Go von HIPPER!! I have him on my premiums too!
that Belfast steal ur kill lmao
Meh, I don't really bother too much about these things. I'm happy ending a battle with no kills but a decent amount of damage done. I do tend to apologise if I steal one by accident, e.g. because I missed torps in the water, because some people value their kills a lot.
@@FunandGameswithTerry agreed
Now I would love to play with you with my Bismarck and let's brawl 😆
I can bring Bismarck, Tirpitz, Odin, Prinz Eugen at tier 8... the only one I don't have is Mainz, I think :)
@@FunandGameswithTerry wow... I only all have the tier 8 German tech tree ships Bismarck,Hipper,Z23
Terry could you do a giveaway for this?
Can you make a video in German?
Würd ich gern sehen lmao.
Ha, warum nicht. Muss ich nur die Untertitel schreiben - das wäre was für April :)
@@FunandGameswithTerry Haha stimmt mach mal. Wird lustig. Hehe
YES!!! Rapid fire gun!!! NOT “ship gun”.
Wait till you hear me pronounce the Prinz Eugen properly :P
High tier GC with torpedos.
Honestly, the torps aren't even the main thing. Just seeing the secondaries blaze away on both sides is amazing :)
that and double-citadeling a broadsiding Amagi at 6km.
Odin is good but is it worth the Money let that sink in for a moment

Forgive me brother Terry, I forgot to mention the other thing it CANNOT DO for which Battleships are designed. AND! If the last statement was just a joke, then this one, as a historian, as a US Army Combat Veteran [1st Special Forces/2nd Battalion, Headquarters Support Company, Signal Detachment] and a World Of Warships lover...I. Want to tell u that u have a military mind.
(I got into playing the game because I kept noticing my colleagues using the graphics from WoW as teach tools/props for lessons both formal and informal, and it is shockingly accurate, I will write to u concerning this if u want to hear it)...
...IT CANNOT TAKE A BEATING!!! WoW has gone weak!!!
Until the obscene Treaty of Versailles was imposed upon Germany, German CAPITAL SHIPS WERE DISTINGUISHED BY THEIR ARMOR! PROTECTION! AND RESILIENCE.
During all of the Battle of Jutland, EVEN WHEN JELLICOE HAD CROSSED SCHEER’S T WITH THE ENTIRE F-ing British grand fleet!! And even when SCHEER’S line-of-battle bucket under the murdered hail of shell fire, NOT 1 ship could be sunk!
Even after the German finished running the gauntlet after being cut of from their Home Ports, Not one ship was sunk.
And even after a full after action review was done (AAR) and it was determined that the Battlecruiser [take note a battlecruiser not ship!] Seyslitz was beyond repair and would be scuttled,
IT WAS STILL AFLOAT EVEN THEN!!!
This Odin, is purely fake and artificial.
My brother, let’s reason together, why would the vaguely Type-O class based Battlecruiser (stated as such by the designers and the Kriegsmarine) which were meant as capital ships by anyone’s designation (most especially the first allied warship they would have met in open water!) Siegfried, Is LISTED IN WoW under the cruiser designation? Really? 35,000 ton, ~250 meter long, 38.0cm SK/ C34 swinging cruisers....ok.
But the Odin is a Battleship?
And the Agir?
WORSE!!! They want $60 for this premium ship!
My Bismarck setup is plagiarized from your video with small changes, which is to say a secondary build, for one I have a Bismarck specialty...
[my Admiral von Hipper drives the Gneisenau which is something u have to experience! But he doesn’t have to!!! If u know what I mean 👿]
Furthermore, I alternate that setup, by pairing the +10% to secondary battery range u recommend, with +20% acceleration
[or +10 to steering which I actually think I have on now]
and +5% speed,
With the Secondary/Air-defense build whenever one of my friends or members of my fleet intends to use a aircraft carrier, and I know it in advance.
Slot 1: +5% secondary range/+7% large
and small AA guns range.
Slot 2: this time only Accelerator*
Slot 3: +10 AA large and small.
This allows me to:
• position my self so that the enemy aircraft will either have to fly over me to attack the carrier (lol, this is the best!).
• let’s me and the carrier provide “inter-locking air-defense” to each other not with AA, but he intercepts for me, and I AA him.
• I picket destroyers for Her! Actually! In my fleet.
• allows me to still fully engage the enemy with my main battery, while maneuvering freely against destroyers (largely on your recommendations).
•. And finally there is always the “lucky” fool who “broke through” our lines and made a dash for our carrier!!!
“Yay! I win the fool said...” before IT, happened. Do I even have to explain.
* Do not get suckered into taking the +10% to small AA range this is a sucker bet. Stay away from it!
Please critique.
I always get clapped by dds

I generally don't build specifically for AA, since that build is mostly for divisions, and I like ships to be general purpose. I've got a video plan on the shortlist to do a full AA build on the Des Moines (why not Worcester? Because DM is a tick sturdier, and I'm planning on chasing planes without getting blapped), but not on my personal account :)
I really prefer fire prevention on higher-tier German BBs over the acceleration module.
