Got a 20gb 3rd gen on the way, already replaced the battery, it was the first ipod had when I was younger so I'm pretty chuffed. Got a couple 5th gens to upgrade myself as well and have a bitta fun with. Probably give them as away to family as gifts. Good vid mate.
The video I needed! link to parts? just replaced my battery and screen. Would love to get 160gb too. I read somewhere the flash mod slows the iPod down. Have you noticed a lag when scrolling with songs loaded or skipping songs?
Not noticeably slower to be fair. Ive heard that too but it only really matters when completely transferring songs on to it. Even then any delay is worth the battery life gains.
Well it will only slow the iPod down if you use a slow micro SD. Any micro SD equal or over A1 (like V30 etc) will be faster than the original hard drive. Also, stick to reputable manufacturers and prefer to buy the SD from a brick and mortar large store, rather than buying it online, as you minimise the chance of buying a fake micro SD. General rule of thumb, don’t cheap out on the SD, buy the best one you can afford (within reason ofc, no need to buy a 100$ 128GB SD just because it’s expensive) and you’ll be golden!
Thanks for posting this. Just fyi, I think you would get better performance if you used a full size SD card (instead of the adapter) and you should consider V30 or greater with A2 and U3 (Speed Class 3). The USB 2.0 can write speed about 30MB/s. So the card your using is about 1/3 of the potential of what the iPod can do.

Id be happy with just 64gb, I will use it for cycling mainly so I don't need too much memory. Great advice though. Thanks!@@opp4idrgn
3rd gens freak out with anything over 128gigs
great video, nice quality. Where can I buy the battery, and what model of battery is that if you dont mind?
Nice one, thanks!
Больно смотреть как ты его открываешь. Крышку помял, шлейф на аукс чуть не порвал и т д.
Наглядное пособие как не нужно делать
