Yeah - my color is WAY off on my iphone. Could I have re-recorded it? SURE. But then it wouldn't be ICE COLD :)
That's just the soft yellow hotel light bulbs!!
Nah, just Argentinian public warmness exuding from the Soda Stereo show...
I kinda like it.
fuck that ! it is dope!❤ just keep it authentic
isnt this a reupload ????
American here, lived in Venezuela in the late 80s. Soda Stereo was the shiznit back then, this brings back memories. We all miss Gus Cerati, thanks for this.
My pleasure! What a riff and what a band!
wich part of venezuela you lived in? curiously enough Gustavo was touring in Caracas when he had the CVA back in 2010
@@caleidonauta I heard that, what a coincidence. I was there with my father when I was a teenager. Lived in Maracaibo, San Cristobal, Barquisimeto and briefly in Caracas. 2 years in total, was a wonderful country back then. Soda Stereo was my go-to band while there.
@@billygreg1984oh man i miss my ciy barquisimeto so much, glad you liked it back then ❤
More of Soda Michael!
Soda Stereo is regarded as a legendary band throughout Latin America. Tragically, Gustavo Cerati fell into a coma for nearly five years and passed away at a relatively young age, but his legacy remains truly extraordinary. 🙌🏻
Thank you, from Nicaragua! 🇳🇮
YESS!!! The greatest Hispanic band ever. Definitely check more of them.
The dedication you put into music is evident, for many of us soda is special. Gustavo Cerati was a guitar genius and a great composer. Always in our hearts. Ask for more Soda stereo.
Well this was unexpected! Love from Argentina Michael!
Lots of love my friend!
11.10 chorus IS
Don't be so cruel
Don't look for more ...excuses.
Don't be so cruel
we will always be
We will always be fugitives ( like profugues..like desertors... but of love)
Got to go to Buenos Aires for work in 2018. Made a stop at Gustavo’s grave. He was an amazing guitarists, singer, songwriter.
Context: Soda Stereo is arguibly the best spanish speaking band of all time. Bigger than any mexican, spanish, or any other bands. All Latin America loved/loves them.
They dissolved in 1997 but came back in 2007 just for this tour you are watching. They played like 15-20 gigs all over Latin America and dissolved again for good. Three years later the singer/guitar fell into coma minutes after performing in his solo tour and died years later. For us born from the 80s on there is no greater musical legend than Gustavo Cerati.
No no, es la mejor sin duda.
Quiza HDS esta al nivel de Soda

argentinean here. we all heard this song a billion times and love this band dearly. cute to see a foreigner take his take on it. cheers!
South American here. Soda stereo is frlm Argentina but they are legendary all over. The song this album is from (Signos) is easily one of my favorite albums of all time. Incredible band!
No way, I been watching your stuff but just recently subscribed, I’m Argentinian and I was gonna ask you to react to that specific song and here you are reacting to it, crazy
Una locura
BOOM!!
The power of subscription 😮
singing and playing that song like he did to a massive public is so from another planet
I’m Venezuelan and this is one of the most iconic bands in the Latin rock music back in the 80s and early 90s. Many thanks for sharing and for not being afraid of being a song in Spanish.
Loved it, new band for me!
you must to hear "cancion animal" "Dynamo"and more
The live albums 'Me Veras Volver' (2 cds) are FULL of fun guitar songs
No te vas arrepentir!
Listen to any of the frontman's Soda stereo albums, some of those are really great such as "Ahi Vamos" or "Siempre es Hoy"
Great musician and producer who made a lot for pop, rock, electronic, folk and even Hip Hop local scene
Grew up listening to Soda Stereo. One of the greatest spanish speaking bands ever. I was fortunate to see them countless times from when they first started playing in small venues to like the one on the video.
Cerati is an authentic beast creating catchy, very rhythmic yet melodic riffs and very expressive solos. A brilliant guitar player, an amazing frontman in Soda Stereo, an even greater lyricist and composer as a solo artist. One of Latin America's biggest musical treasures. He is surely missed.
Un animal!! Genial
Mate only two words : THANK YOU. One of the best PRS guitar player, actually after he passaway PRS build his signature guitar.
La poderosisima multifoil 🙌🏻
It is ridiculous how Hollywood depicts a completely false image of Latin America, with music that seems to be trapped a century ago, such as the constant playing of tangos, when it is an entire world of rock & roll and rich music, whose quality can match the best of british rock & pop.

Man! Soda is arguably the best spanish rock band oat. And one of those bands that sounded even better live. Gracias Totales!
Love the respect for Charly Alberti. He's usually very understimated
As solid as a Rock! Amazing heart beat of Soda Stereo
Of all the BAND Stars to die in my lifetime, Gustavo's death hit me the hardest! My favorite concert has got to be that symphonic one he did towards the end of his life..
Love Soda! RIP Gustavo Cerati... You will always be in the soundtrack of my life!
So stoked that you covered Soda Stereo! They are still very popular but are virtually unknown in the US. They have more monthly listeners on Spotify than The Who, Soundgarden, Jimi Hendrix, Talking Heads and many other rock staples. Mega popular abroad and for good reason.
I think you should know that Cerati improvised all his solos in live and the intro also was a combination of his ideas, in every concert he did it different
Omg. Best song of that live album. Saw them in Venezuela 2007. Best concert ever.
From the same Tour "Me verás volver" 2007 you should hear "En la ciudad de la furia" or "Un millón de años luz". And from studio album Dynamo, "Primavero 0" track, or their MTV Unplugged from 1995, which SO COOL
Man I wish I was there!!
I was there 🙌
I was, best concert I've ever been.
I was there. I was just 17. Your wishes are justified. I've never been to a wilder gig. And I'm counting ACDC and GN'R on the list.
Just around what it would have been his birthday.... I'm so happy the world is starting to know him... he is a gem...
here I am, at 44; decided to finally leave the fear aside and get myself an electric guitar to learn to play it! Latina too, so a Soda Stereo/Cerati song is a must in the list of songs I am dying to play some day 🪬🪷
Every country in the world must have Bands/Artists that are arena/stadium fillers or just plain old 'Legends' in their own country, but relatively unknown anywhere else in the world. Is cool discovering these Artists. What a band!! And the crowd!! Wow!
If you look "absolute best of argentine music", you will find a total rabbit hole of great music.
It just happens that soda stereo was known all over the Hispanic music world.
Amazing video! What a talent my friend.
Argentinian here! Nothing comes close to "Soda stereo", but you should check out Divididos (El arriero), La renga (La razón que te demora), Sumo (Estallando desde el océano) or Los abuelos de la nada (Mil horas). Love your channel!!
EXELENNTTT ... from Argentina 🙌🏽✌🏽🇦🇷. Music Language
I loved this reaction. Among many. This was super professional and also passionate.
This is amazing, I love Soda Stereo and always want to bring them to discussion with my American friends since they are very solid guitar players and an amazing band, but my friends are clueless. Thanks for doing this Michael and Juan. :)
Michael you chust found GOLD! Thanks to Juan , you are gonna be blown aways with this band songs!
your wellcome , this is one of my favorite bands ever,
It's insane how fast you recognize patterns, wow
Literally watched this performance last night and was thinking that it would be cool for you to do a review of Soda Stereo 🤯
BOOM!
Love from Argentina Michael! Thank you for doing some Soda Stereo 😍
He was the most prolific musician in Latinoamerica, composer, songwriter, singer and a hell out of guitar player.
As a subscriber and an argentinian, wow!
The hook riff reminds me of a Primus vocal melody, a scat kind of part " something something be on my side, come jimmy, come jommy"
I can't think of the name.
That being said, good song, and tight band.
5 genre's in one song, funk, pop, big 80's chorus, some shred, extreme and U2 had a baby. Nice bridge...this was great considering no idea what the lyrics are.
Hi! I'm from Uruguay (the country "next door") and I like Soda Stereo very much. Prófugos is not one of my faves, but I am suprised you are reacting to one of their songs 🥰🎶👏

Soda Stereo and Cerati made different versions on every tour, that song was released in 1986 and it was simpler, by 2007 this version has the best of all previous live versions and arrangements.
One of my favorite bands ever, thanks to make a Video. greetings from Germany. Juan
The thing about Cerati is that not only was he a great guitar player, but he was also a great vocalist and an even greater songwriter
Gustavo was the reason I picked an electric guitar when I was a teenager. 30 years later here I`m. I also like many others visited his grave. I felt I had to thank him for the inspiration in the soundtrack of my life and the influence in my own music. Soda Stereo is the greatest band in latin american history.
Those argentinians are great. Greetings from Tero Tuerto, Argentina
We are accomplices, both of us
At least I know I run away because I love
I need... relaxation
Being awake like this
It's a delirium of the condemned
Like a residual effect
I will always take the detour
Your eyes will never lie
But that white noise
Is an alarm in my ears
Don't be so cruel
Don't look for more excuses,
Don't be so cruel
We will always be fugitives, both of us
We have nowhere to go
We are like a devastated area
Roads without meaning...
Religions without motive...
How will we survive?
Don't be so cruel
Don't look for more excuses
Don't be so cruel
We will always be
We will always be fugitives, both of us
Come on, don't be so cruel
Don't look for more excuses
Don't be so cruel
We will always be fugitives
We will always be fugitives
We will always be...
Soda!
Thanks for this!!
@@Guitargate Truly, thank YOU, Mr. Palmisano, for making me proud to be your subscriber. I was at that show (Soda fan since the beginning) and I really didn't expect to see a reaction from you about this. A very pleasant surprise.
Man, this band is crazy
Argentinian rock music making big sounds since the early late 60's and 70's... Soda Estereo from the 80's onwards!
Gustavo's legacy is finally being recognized around the world❤🇦🇷
Possibly my favorite band, favorite songwriter, and favorite performance of this song. The one on the live album “Ruido Blanco” is so goooooood
This is a super interesting reaction! Love it. Please let’s keep reacting to any other song from this concert you won’t regret! Thank you!
One of my top 5 live Soda Songs
Michael, great vid!! Thank you for educating us. I'd love to see you analizing Spinetta, he's one of the best argentinian musicians to ever live. In fact, he's Cerati's idol. Cantata de Puentes Amarillos is something I'd love to see you breaking down.
Definitely
Hey Michael. Listen to this guy and do Cantata de Puentes Amarillos form Argentinian father of rock n roll Luis Alberto Spinetta
thanks for react to Soda, we have so much to learn and enjoy from Gustavo Cerati, go deeper on his legacy, you are gonna enjoy it!!
The biggest rock band in all latin america history. Awesome vid, hope you check more of their stuff.
Glad you liked this. This man Gustavo was a genius. His vocals were amazing but his guitar playing was sublime and interesting as all heck! Reminded me of Andy Summers with all the unique chords - I have studied Cerati guitar playing in detail for 29 odd years and it is fascinating what I have I uncovered. Latin America misses this man with pain in our hearts but joy still ringing in our ears.
Thanks for playing Soda Stereo, one of our greatest bands in Argentina, setting a music style which still today is a reference! Gustavo Cerati, who died much to early, was the heart snd brain of this group!❤️
I was there 2 days later.. on the 21st! It was mesmerizing. For us, Argentinians Soda Stereo is the soundtrack of our lives. Gustavo Cerati, leader voice and guitar player has an aneurism some months later, and went into a comatose state that 4 years later took his life. We miss Gustavo every single day. Soda Stereo lives forever in our soul. And this particular song is very dear to me because it meant a moment in my life (that she will never forget either) Siempre seremos profugos LOS DOS (por siempre y para siempre en nuestras almas).
Sooo excited for this! ❤ and I share the same admiration for the drummer Charly Alberti!
Keep reacting to them and Gustavo Cerati's solo stuff, they have a great catalog!
Yesss Soda!!!😍Thank you my friend for this great reaction to this amazing song! Gustavo’s guitar sound is just brilliant! Please more Soda Stereo!🙏 Greetings from Buenos Aires!✨
May I recommend "Ella uso mi cabeza como un revolver" (She used my head as a gun). One of the best openings to a song ever imo.
Wonderful, this amazing band, Gustavo Cerati was the most influential artist latinoamerican and hispanic. Great video, we want more, "Genesis" Soda Stereo MTV Unplugged. Greetings from Argentina
The best band of Latin America everrrr !
Thank you for doing this band, it’s the best band from Latin america
GUSTAVO CERATI is considered THE ARCHITECT OF THE SOUND. You should react to some of SODASTEREO's song. Specially from their last tour "Gira Me Verás Volver ".
Suggestions:
- SIGNOS
- UN MILLON DE AÑOS LUZ
- LA CIUDAD DE LA FURIA
And the MTV version of the song
GENESIS.
COLDPLAY play two songs from Soda Stereo in spanish showing love and respect to the greatest rock band in spanish ever. Idols in latin america.
The Cirque Du Soleil made a tribute show called SEPT7MO DIA (as one of his songs)
Gracias Totales for this video Michael!
Dude, I've been watching your videos and when I saw you react to Kendrick Lamar The Heart Part 5 I was amazed.
But this... Soda Stereo, on the fly, how you picked it up. Growing up in South America this song was an anthem in 86 and to see you actually like it, and play it... I just subscribed to your channel.
Gustavo Cerati was a virtuoso and top notch musician.... Bravo on your reaction and how quick you picked it up!
that riff played like Michael is playing it, slower and funkier, sounds like a guitar part off of David Bowie's Low record. pretty cool
Yesssss Michaelllll yesssss, Thank you for this one. Greetings from Argentina!!!
Look at that crowded stadium! Profugos is in my top 10 of all time.
Wow! This band is one of the best I've ever heard, no doubt! The way Argentinians sing is beautiful.. greetings from Argentina.
Welcome to Argentina's rock music!
acurate described in comments how huge as biggest latin american band they were, euphoria of their shows, big stadiums over the continent and total sodamania, in the 80s musically there were compared with the cure, u2 , simple minds, duran duran that very british sound and image, but they were way more sophisticated in harmony and arrengement, plus gustavo was a guitar virtuoso soloist so u right about the vanhalen like lead, check other songs that era are mastepieces like this one, sidenote the lyrics, incredibly sophisticated for such ultra popular band, their 90s is like another band they became more noisy experimental and alternative rock sounding.
You should react to Genesis of Soda Stereo MTV Unplugged
Loved this analysis!!! So excellent!!! Thanks for making us listen to Soda again!!! Timelesss!!
Try with un millón de años luz! The GUITAR!
Yes, you're right Michael, Gustavo's sound was similar to The Edge's. Many times he said that one of his favorite bands was U2... by the way, in this part 8:33 "Prófugos" always reminds me of "Where The Streets Have No Name"... Soda Stereo the greatest latin american band. Hugs from Perú.
If you like this, get ready to react to "Soda Stereo - Genesis (MTV Unplugged)" it's going to blow your mind away !!
i have been waiting for you to react to something like this for so long!
Love it!!❤
Signos…. my favourite Soda album
Another argie here, Cerati was a good musician, I always considered him a snob that tried too hard to be a rockstar, but over time I learnt to appreciate his music. I'm glad people still appreciate Argentinian rock, there is much more than Cerati though. I'd recommend you to listen to Sumo, Los Redonditos de Ricota and Hermetica/Almafuerte. They all had very skilled guitarists(Ricardo Mollo, Skay Belinson and Claudio Marciello respectively).
This made my morning prework breakfast!!!
Chile was here
Hey, Pablo from Argentina here. Really chuffed you liked Soda! If you enjoyed that, you’re in for a right treat. Check out their version of “Genesys” from their MTV Unplugged gig. It’s a classic track by an Argentine prog rock band called Vox Dei. It’ll totally blow your socks off. Cheers from Patagonia!
Soda Stereo, the most important Latin American rock band and one the best rock bands ever. Period. Gustavo Cerati (RIP), was one of the most talented singer-songwriter-guitarist-front men to ever grace a stage. If I sound like I'm exaggerating, all you have to do is listen to and watch Soda Stereo or Cerati's own solo work. One recommendation? "Corazón Delator" from this same tour, the 2007 _Me Verás Volver_ tour. Soda was one of those rare bands that really did sound and play better live than on studio records. So, whatever recommendation you get, make sure you listen to a live version first, preferably from that tour.
