Every now and then there comes upon the scene a singer whose talent refuses to lie dormant, one
whose personality so radiates the ‘love of God’ that their very presence permiates the lives of all who listen. Martha Dobson is such a singer.
Born in the foothills of Oklahoma in the city of Durant, she became interested in singing at an early
age, and has never ceased to thrill others with her talent. Like all great artists, someone influences
their life at that ‘magic moment’ when talent is encouraged by a friendly, loving hand, and nurtured
with tender care until it blooms as a beautiful flower, responding to God’s sunlight. Martha had such
a friend in her teen-age yearskby the name of Joe Ann Shelton, whose inspiration and interest was
invaluable to her.
Every artist also has ‘one certain distinction’ that is their trade-mark and sets them apart from the
others. Martha’s ‘trade-mark’ is ‘sincerity,’ and as you listen to this album you will catch this feeling
in her musical witness-but more than that, you will catch a glimpse of Jesus, which is Martha’s prayer.
The greatest tribute that we can pay to any singer of sacred music, is that ‘we see Jesus in them’, and this is Martha Dobson. J. T. Adams

TEXAS AREA AND ARE ESPECIALLY ADAPTABLE FOR THE SINCERITY AND INSPIRATION OF
MARTHA’S SINGING. THE ALBUM WAS RECORDED IN SULPHUR SPRINGS, TEXAS, WHERE THE
CONDUCTOR, J. T. ADAMS RESIDES AND SERVES AS MINISTER OF MUSIC AT THE FIRST
BAPTIST CHURCH.
