Hello i found your channel tonight, i dont have time to go thru a ton of videos so im sorry to ask, i did watch one of yours from a year ago though, nicely done. So heres my deal, need to find something as soon as possible due to my health and possible hospital admission soon. My autonomic nervous system is ramped, last hospital stay messed me up worse, i dont do well with not getting sleep or loud noises due to my health issues, any loud abrupt sounds send my heart into a bad place, im in a hypervigilant state a lot, i have an air dr air purifier set at 4 highest speed going at night which is similar to a loud fan back home and also a single fan as well at high speed, the air purifier is louder. So after watching your one video from a year ago that was helpful as im hearing options vs reading about them, I need fan sounds as thats what im used to; abrupt sounds in a hospital and big city is what i will be up against, headphone options would be nice if possible as i saw that as an option on your video review, ability to adjust the fan type, sound and volume would be nice, something that would be able to continously play, something that would be easy to plug in or use batteries with as i dont know how i could use a usb in a hospital, im a light sleeper now and am dealing with cortisol issues which make me feel like adrenaline is surging thru me, it can happen thru out the day but its definitely worse n the morning or if i get woke up suddenly. I dont need really any other sounds outside of a fan type sound. I deal with trauma too so im prone to having issues to a lot of things normal people arent. Is there anything u can suggest? I cant haul my fan and air purifier in a hospital so im wondering what else i can use. I pray you see this soon and due to so many you have reviewed that you could recommend something and i could do my research and order something asap. Ive learned i dont ever want to go to a hospital again without something to block noise as much as i can. Thank you.
Hi there. Sorry to hear you have so much going on, and I wish you all the best with your treatment if you do have to go into hospital. Thanks also for coming back based on your memory of a video from so long ago - that says a lot! So, I don't know how private your stay will be in hospital and whether you could play a machine with no headphones. My top pick if you can play one without headphones would be either the Snooz or the Lectrofan Evo. The Snooz isn't in the video, but you can hear it in action in my review of it here: ua-cam.com/video/YAwev6ZN_G4/v-deo.html The Lectrofan Evo doesn't contain a real fan, but has 10 different fan sounds. It also has a headphone socket so you can use a standard 3.5mm jack to plug in headphones (most headphones). Another option for you might be to just download a white noise app on your phone or tablet and use that. That way you can get your white noise for free if you were planning on using headphones anyway. I haven't reviewed many apps, but in this video I cover three of them: ua-cam.com/video/vmFZLyHybnA/v-deo.html. The app section starts at 6mins 42secs. I hope that helps All the best
This is a great channel and I am glad I found it. What would you recommend for someone who has noisy upstairs neighbors with hardwood floors? I currently use Mack earplugs but because the noise is low frequency(I’m guessing?) My fancy air purifier(which I use while I sleep) broke and have been getting poor sleep since then. While watching this video I just made the connection that it’s possible the noise from the humidifier in connection with the ear plugs were helping block out footsteps. I’m desperate and willing to try anything out. What would you recommend? What is the absolute best white noise machine? I don’t care about price I’m desperate. Also I have fancy noise cancelling Sony branded headphones and when I have both on they do a great job of blocking out 90% of the sound but I am a side sleeper sp can’t sleep with them. Thanks!
Hi, thanks for the compliment - I'm happy to hear you like the channel. I think you're probably right in that the white noise and earplugs combo worked as a better barrier + sound masking combo than the earplugs alone. My personal favorite white noise machines are the lectrofan evo and the Snooz. Maybe the Snooz would be good for you as it has a real fan, so might be closer to the sound of the purifier than the lectrofan. As for the headphones, that's a common problem! You could try a headband style of headphones, like the acousticsheep. They don't have noise cancelling and are much simpler, but they are flat and better for side sleepers. Here's a video I did of those so you can see them in action: ua-cam.com/video/kSbdP46GQoc/v-deo.html
I wasn't able to time all of them because there were no noticeable end points. But the ones I was able to time (the lullaby and music box) were around 90 seconds.
Hi, thanks! Do you know which ‘colour’ noise each of the 7 white noise options correspond to? eg. is number 1 brown noise and number 7 true white noise etc). Cheers!
Hi, they don't say in the manual, so I couldn't tell you. But from experience, I would guess they have recorded some standard pink and brown noise as it sounds quite deep to me. But it's impossible for me to guess accurately.
A few times I've used drip sounds to get myself out of bed in the morning. Nothing says "get up and deal with stuff" like a constant dripping sound. Good review!
Thanks for listening and replying to that question! I wasn't sure anyone would comment on it, so it's interesting to hear from you. And yes, now you say that, it would get me up too!
I used to wake up to a recording of Gunnery Sgt. R. Lee Ermey banging on a galvanized steel trashcan (rubbish can) and yelling, "wake up you maggots." I ended up buying this model mostly because of this review.
Hi, nice to hear from you again and thanks for watching another video! Brown noise is probably my favorite too of all the white noise and fan sound options. No matter what device, if it has brown noise I'll always choose that over more intense white noise.
Trying this because of your review. Thank you for helping people sleep
You're welcome. Let me know if you like it!
Your review was great AND you have beautiful hands! 😋
I'm not sure which of those makes me happier to hear, so double thanks:-)
YOU ROCK! love these reviews just what i needed!
Thanks Jay, much appreciated!

how long are the loops?
I wasn't able to time all of them because there were no noticeable end points. But the ones I was able to time (the lullaby and music box) were around 90 seconds.
So can I turn lights off if I don't want them? Not sure if you said it, but would like to know before getting it 👍
Yes you can - the lights are optional.
@@nosleeplessnights1 thank you 👍

Do you know how long the rechargeable battery lasts?
It depends on the settings you use. I can get 7-10 hours or more out it usually.
Great.. Very nice ❤
Thanks, glad you liked the vid!
Dripping water sound is probably great for training kids to wet the bed ..
...which isn't a common chapter in parenting manuals
Very helpful, thanks!
You're most welcome - glad you liked the video Simon!
I have brown noise playing all night.
