I’ve been using WeVideo for about a year but need to move on. This video was like a ping pong match and I was going back and forth each time you mentioned a strength. Because I have and sometimes use After Effects think I will go with Premier Pro. Thanks again!
P. Pro. I flipping LOVE it. I love that there's so much to eventually learn, one step at a time. It's like my equivalent to Fortnite and is well worth the £20 a month for my enjoyment alone! I look forward to years of learning stretching out ahead.
That's the beauty of having options. I'm self taught (and still learning) Premiere Elements. Afterwards tried Filmora but found certain things confusing.
Me too! Been using Filmora for a couple years now and I still haven't been pushed toward these two talk about just yet. Of course, I would love to try one of them but so far, no need.
I'm a beginner UA-camr and started with Premier with my Windows Laptop. After getting a Mac and started testing out Final Cut - Personally I would choose Final cut overall.
So basically "Do you have a Mac and/or enough money to go buy one? Then get Final cut." I think there are far more benefits to being a part of the Adobe ecosystem with the other programs, After Effects, Photoshop etc, Adobe's font library, not being locked into a single OS. There's just a lot more flexibility, even if the monthly subscription model does absolutely suck..
For the most part they all do the same things. If you switch you would just need to learn the shortcuts of the new software and the names of their effects and tools
I have an IPad and I’ve been using premier rush which is also why I would lean towards premiere pro because I’m familiar with adobe. The only thing I disliked with rush is that they hardly give you anything.. I’m already used to downloading my own sound affects and coming up with new text affects and overlays. I also don’t like that they give you 7 audio/video tracks. So as far comparing the two programs I would’ve liked to know the different effects they have and different text options, also if one has more audio/video tracks than the other. I would say I’m an intermediate editor so I wouldn’t want anything too easy, I would rather want to learn something a little harder that way I can try out new things and learn as I go. But this was a great video! I’m glad that have some new insight on a different type of software, and I had no idea that Final Cut Pro was an apple product 🤯
I started with Hitfilm express then ShotCut for a while, Adobe premiere, After effects and today im trying out Final cut pro since i just got a Macbook for the first time. Hope i like it
I have used so many software without naming from simple to premium ones and from my extensive exposure to these softwares i can say all works very similar based on current technology available...so always use free software available and believe me same result can be achieved unless you work for studio
Yes but if i name some it will sound like publicity. Basically what i am saying is all pro and semi pro level softwares have those functions needed whether that may be node based application or that can be layer based but bothof them can fulfill your requirement provided that you potent enough to use them...
I'm using Filmora Pro, but I've been interested in switching to either Premiere Pro or Davinci Resolve. Premiere Pro because of After Effects and Davinci because of how powerful it is and the price.
Try resolve and premiere for free and see which one you like the most. I used to use premiere but when I learned to use resolve I dropped premiere it just fits my do everything in one place workflow 😆 good luck in your editing journey
I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. l always tell myself you don't need that new Aston Martin or vacation in Hawaii just yet and that mindset helps me make more money Investing.
At a time like this, some are wondering whether bitcoin is a good investment. Anyone considering investing should remember that all investments involve some risks, whether they're stocks, commodities, or Cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin.
When I started UA-cam, I bought a used MacBook Pro that had both installed, so I had a chance to try both. I found Final Cut easier to use and didn't want to pay for a subscription. I'd like to see the battle.
Stumbled across this video: Premier or Final Cut ? It’s a very useful discussion. People say, “use the best tool for the job”, right? As a professional editor - now retired, I started a career on 16mm film, was then forced to move to the VT department back in the very early 90s because of a KPMG consultancy “reorganisation”. I worked on analog systems like 2” 1” 1/2” tape formats … then they became digital and on to nonlinear editing. Arriving in the form of Kudos, Lightroom, Avid, SpeedRazor (dead but resurrected in another form*), Sony’s offerings, Quantel - blah blah blah. [note to reader: no one in their right mind would ever go back to Avid once they’ve moved on to another platform] Premier in the early days was cretinous - but it’s come along way since. Final Cut legacy became the mainstay in broadcasting before Apple tipped it into the bay. Working in the worlds biggest editing department based in Europe, we watched the debacle of Final Cut in horror. But, some of us amongst those holding their heads in their hands looked at the new Final Cut. Once we got our heads around it, because you need a bit of brain surgery if you’re used to doing things in the old way, realised how powerful the program was. Producers are schizophrenic. They keep chasing their tails as they lose their minds. Their bosses, Programme Editors, are narcissists and have to justify their existence - so hack-up a perfectly workable script until a now mentally damaged producer tries to make sense of the editorial wreckage left behind. ‘Film’ Editors are not known for holding hands and comforting damaged people. So FCPX* made reorganising a complex structure as simple as eating apple pie without the editor throwing things around the cutting-room and [unnecessarily] hurting people In the process. Even in its early iterations - as a cutting tool it’s simply the best, let no one delude you. Put simply, only the cut counts. That’s what editing is! What you do with it afterwards, that’s a different question. Premier Reigns - because you can tamper and fiddle with the final result to your heart’s desire. Or you can send an XML to daVinci… At least Resolve is free! So if you’re new to editing and you have enough money to spend on Final Cut use Final Cut X. If you have no money, or you’re not running on a Mac, then DaVinci Resolve is for you. I hope that’s not too controversial. Where do you want to go? Edit for UA-cam or are you aiming higher?
I’m other words. Since I’m a beginner, and I plan making content for a longer period of time than one year, I would prefer Final Cut Pro ($300) for life instead $240 a year. If I was solely basing my choice off of price.
I dont think you can do a legit 'best for UA-cam' without including Davinci Resolve. I personally think it's the best (it's the industry standard for color correction and color grading) but regardless of my opinion, every serious filmmaker is familiar with 'the big three'.
Davinci Resolve indeed has the best color correction and color grading technology, however, unless you're a professional colorist, you won't notice much of a difference, since you're not using it to its full potential. I also think that it's just lacking in certain areas, compared to premiere, but that's just my opinion.
I'm a complete newbie (only 3 videos in) and use Premiere Elements. I bought it as a bundle with Photoshop Elements for less than $99, and so far it has everything I need. I watched a couple of UA-cam videos and read tutorials on Adobe's website then I filmed a test video just a minute or so long and practiced my skills. I know I have a lot to learn, but have been pretty pleased with what I've produced so far.
Just a heads up that I got a student bundle with Apple that included Final Cut, Logic Pro and a few pieces of other software for about $200 - I think the same price as getting one separately without the discount. Something to watch out for if you’re in education!!
The best editing software is one you can use effectively. It also depends on your content i.e. if your intention is to create a cinematic masterpiece or a simple vlog, these powerful editors aren't always the best option. Consider price also, I find davinci pretty quick to pick up, after years of using Premiere Pro (I can't use premier anymore as my work haven't renewed the license)
