R.I.P John 'Motty' Motson.. The voice of British football during my youth
R.I.P. Motty...you were the best!
Great match in every way
thank you
great one
Nice when John Motson sings to me , lucky with Stuart Pearce incident but against Brazil you will gladly take the luck you can get, thanks for the match mate
As a youngster during the late 1980's and early 90's, I was nicknamed "Lineker" because I shared his poachers' Instinct in front of goal but obviously I wasn't as good as he was 😊
another thing, Brazil's movement was world class but so was England's defending..
if they was ever a case for an England team to have been played in a 4-2-3-1 system this was the team..but Robson did not experiment with this after Mexico 86, Waddle and Barnes needed to be played off the flanks Brazil were outstanding here but England were a great squad in 1990..

Looking back it’s so strange that McMahon was still at this point selected ahead of gazza. McMahon, although brilliant for Liverpool, never played well in an England shirt
Yeah but he was a real no.6 and he was part of a successful club team.. Pairing him up with Platt in a 2 man MF against Brazil (even though 1990 Brazil was a poor side) wouldn't be my first port of call but...
McMahon was a top player from 1982 onwards. England never picked him until 1988 and by 1990 he was a fading force.
Very few Liverpool players have had good international careers. it is bizarre. Hansen 26 caps, Tommy Smith 1, Ian Callaghan 4, Ron Yeats 2. Such natural talents like Robbe Fowler 26 caps and Paul Walsh 4.
@@randyborstol2491 Interesting Stat&,maybe because Liverpool played in a very unique way(The Liverpool way) and it wasn't easy for there players to adapt to a international Team, with non team mates( Just an theory of course)
